i will repeat what i said in a review of one their other books on this website....to list the author as jehovah god and not the 'watchtower bible and tract society' of new york is completely insulting to the literary community and just plain WRONG.

and please avoid this out-dated and patronizing guilt guide of a book if you have a real teenager with real world issues. this was written in 1989 and was far behind the times even then.

My grandmother gave me this book when I was about 12 and I found it far from helpful. It presupposes so much and is so terribly patronising and moralising that I doubt any teen these days would actually read it.

This was my second bible growing up! I read this book like it was a lifeline to my issues all throughout Junior and High School. Till this day, the principles that were sounded down into me through this and my personal Bible reading, have safeguarded me from ALL SORTS of trouble and helped draw me out of troubling habits as well!
I recommend this book to anyone who wishes to understand the trials of young people (Be they young or old) and be able to share with them practical, but morally upright advice from the Bible! Advice that can save lives!

Have you ever had to read a book that was just loaded with information? More then likely, that book was extremely boring. But not this book. “Young people ask” was one of the greatest books that I’ve ever read. I loved this book for several reason, some of them are that I was especially design for teenagers. I also like that even though it was loaded with information, it was despised right and given properly, I finally like the advice it gave. These three things together made one of the greatest books ever.

One thing that I really admire about this book was that its design with teenager in mind. That’s a strong point about the book because as I teenager I could relate to it, and not only that but it also deal with teenagers and the problems that they go through. I mostly like the book because you would think that because its for teenager that I would be a rebellious book, but its not, it always encourages teenagers to do the right thing, and as a teen book that would be exalt what they need

Something else I like about the book was that it’s drowned in details. You would think that because it has a lot of information it would be like a dictionary, but its not, the information had things like facts about life, experiences, quotes from people who went through things as teenager, and also wisdom from the bible that every teenager could use. Sounds like a lot right? But its not, the author did everything just right and made it so is very understandable

The last thing that sold me and made me love this book was the advice it gave. Teenagers go through a lot today and it’s not exactly easy to go to their parents for advice, and it doesn’t make sense for you to go through a problem and don’t get help, so this book helps out in that area. Also, embarrassing problems that you can’t talk about are discussed in the book. Lastly, it gives you practical suggestions that have been tested out and everyone could do.

Just by reading this book it helped me to get through some problems I personally had. If you’re a teenagers and your reading this review, I personally guarantee that if you read this book you would appreciate it just like I did.

From dating to drinking, peer pressure to choosing a career, this book is a helpful companion for these and many other issues facing youths today.

Other than the outdatedness of this book and the very simplistic reading, I do heartily recommend this book to Christian youths who come from a more conservative background and would like some guidance on par with the Bible.

This little piece of literature is very good at covering some of the basics. Although I did find that entering into marriage early is not an issue of this day, but rather that many youths are not entering into marriage for their relationships.

I have always appreciated some of the things that the Jehovah's Witnesses believe, including a Unitarian view of Christianity (Biblical Unitarianism) that tries to direct Christians to true worship of Jehovah. This book not only helps a youth deal with issues in high school, but also to help them depend on Lord Jehovah for all things.

"So, if any one of YOU is lacking in wisdom, let him keep on asking God, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching; and it will be given him."

The book I read was the most recent "Questions Young People Ask" published in 2011. We received it this summer at our District Conventions being held throughout the world. I attended the Convention in Des Moines, Iowa. (July 8-10) That being said; this book was written for young people, but the information can be applied to any age group. I say that because I am a Gramma, and I found the book full of up-to-date information. I am also Young At Heart, even though I am a Gramma.

The book contains...key scriptures that highlight main points. Practical suggestions that will help you to succeed. Facts that will stimulate your thinking. Opportunities to express how you will put the material to use. Questions that will help you reason on what you've read. In addition...each section of this book ends with a journal page to put your thoughts into words. There are role models of selected Bible characters featured as worthy of imitation. The Bible provides the guidance we need to navigate the rough seas of life. Although the Bible was written a long time ago, its counsel is just as practical today as it was when it was first written.

The book Questions Young People ask answers that work helps cover the daily problems teenagers go through, such as: why don’t my parents understand me?, why don’t kids leave me alone?, along with many other common situations teenagers go through. It helped me because it seemed to know what I am thinking & helped guide me through my own personal problems throught life. I highly recommend this book to others because it helps teenagers with their problems based on bible principles. Unfortunately, There are a few topics that the book does not cover such as Global Warfare & Racism.

Concluding this review, I truly believe that many teenagers that are going through any dilemmas should grab this book because it literately answers many of the confusing questions that they might have growing up. Throught this book it refers to a smorgasbord of bible principles that many teenagers from the past used to make the right choices in their lives.

Considering the book as outdated is a relative thing to say. It really depends on how one sees morality as an issue. Whether you're a Jehovah's Witness or an atheist or what-not, if you see, say for example, SEX in a different perspective, then the book will be either relevant or irrelevant to you. But i say, the book can give you a clear direction on how not to mess up your life esp. during your teen-age years...not getting pregnant, losing your virginity to a bum, stealing, disrespecting your parents, living a hell of a life, well it even talks about the bully in school..For me, definitely NOT OUTDATED. It's a must esp. for those with low confidence, troubled, experiencing difficulty in the family...almost anything and everything under the sun of a teenager. Read it...

Life could have been incomplete without this book, I am not young but i love this. One of the best. A must in a home. TIMELY...because one of the references is the Bible, a book written millenniums ago but never go outdated, cause SOMEONE behind its writing has no beginning and no ending. Anyone saying it's outdated maybe has not even read a quarter of it, and is hasty at jumping to conclusions.

Be warned, this is a book geared toward young adults who are being raised in the Jehovah's Witness cult to teach them how to behave so that they may stay loyal to their God named Jehovah. The children are told that NOT staying loyal to Jehovah will cost them their families and friends (practice of shunning) and their lives when their God destroys this system of things. At that time only those loyal to Jehovah will survive, the rest of the world will be wiped out. By the way, this end of the world thing, was supposed to have happened already, several times - they keep changing the date. Children are not encouraged to further education, pursue careers in music or the arts, vote or join the military.

Secondly if you are a Jehovah's Witness, and you are reading this review. I suggest that you do an internet search of the pedophile cases that are going to court. Australia is a big one. There are many children and women who suffer abuse in this so called religion, but they cannot report it to the police. I know - because I am a survivor.

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is a cult. And yes, I know that your leaders tell you it isn't...over and over. And I know you'd like to believe it isn't. But take a minute, be honest with yourself. How many things on this list fit the WTBS? http://www.cultwatch.com/cultic-warni...

This was given to me as a boy, and is the biggest load of bs I have ever had the pleasure to read. I keep it for the comedy value 'Masturbation: Fighting the Urge' and Why said masturbation is such a sin to god....well, the only reason I can see is the wasted sperm...but then I look at some of the witnesses and think...what a waste of sperm they were too!

Good for a laugh, but don't take it seriously....like the rest of this religion...a complete joke!

This book provides answers that are not really answers. Instead, it provides language that pressures young people to conform to an ideological norm that the authors feel is the "will of God" without considering that circumstances do not allow all people to respond in the same ways. This is the worst book of advice I've ever read. Without any doubt. It might even be the worst book I've ever read, regardless of ideology. The book doesn't provide answers to the questions. It provides "just don't worry about it and rely on God" answers.

Almost any issue that a young person face is addressed by this book. You will consult it more than once or twice. It is a small book that both parents and teens/young adults should have. It can be used as a conversation opener between parents and children and between dating young people.

This book indoctrinated me as a preteen/teen. It taught me twisted values, such as I can’t be friends with anyone except Jehovah’s Witnesses.

This is a very good book for teenagers. Although it was written in 1989 this book really helps you as a teenager to control your feelings and emotions. Nowadays teenagers are lost because of the decreased society. They don't have anyone to help to find the right way and find real happiness. This book is good for everyone. Its not only a religious book. Someone can avoid the religious part(if they are not religious) and read the questions and answers for their knowledge.Sadly nowadays parents also accept the decrease society and think its the right thing. This book teaches you to respect your own self and respect your relationships and how to face to the problems that you face as a teenager.

The first publication of "Questions Young People Ask..." was a lifesaver for our children and us as parents, in the 80s and 90s. We found helpful answers when we didn't know what to say, or how to explain what they needed to know. The world is constantly changing around us, but the same problems have always existed. Teenage years are the toughest years to deal with, in our entire life. Today's children want to be adults before they are ready, and the advertising world promotes this. Kids need constancy and that is what this Bible-based publication, with practical principles used, provides. The answers work no what the decade as the Bible doesn't change its moral settings or practical advice because of changing world attitudes, philosophies, or challenges.

A must have for all parents. I have used this book liberally when assisting my own three children, or when helping other children in the congregation. Among other sections, there are parts on helping youths to deal with their looks, their peers, dating, resisting drugs, their own feelings, and on how to succeed in school.

So wildly unhelpful in my formative years, still unpacking the damage from this book 20 years later. Two stars because I managed to avoid a substance abuse problem, so thanks for that.
