Some tell Dave Filoni to make this into another animated series for Disney+

It's a picture book! Seriously, the book is a chronicle of the Old Republic, up to the events of the MMO, told through a journal of a Jedi historian/scholar. Grand Master Satele Shan also gives her input on the topic, in "hand written" annotations. This book is meant for those who have played the MMO and read the various Old Republic books and comics, as it glosses over their respective events. Being refreshed on those plots was pleasant. People who enjoy art (perticularly, Star Wars art) will enjoy this as the paintings are beautiful.

Great journal!

And from one of the most interesting characters in game that I wished he had more to do and be more involved in any way, either in-game or in other media (novel, comic).

It's basically a journal of Master Gnost-Dural, with info on the Sith and the wars throughout the years in general, Gnost-Dural pretty much describes and recaps everything that happened since the beginning till now, and we do get a few name-drops too.

If you've been following the whole Star Wars EU since the very beginning chronologically until now, you'll be happy to know that he pretty much sums up your reading journey since the start and we also get a nice touch with Satele Shan's fill ins inside the journal's pages. She adds info and describes whatever Gnost-Dural was talking about or his whereabouts and whatnot.

Great book. Recommended to anyone who wants a nice catch-up or is interesting to expand his knowledge beyond The Old Republic, or just wants something to read while playing the online game.

The Journal of Jedi Master Gnost-Dural is a must for fans of the Old Republic. It is a beautiful hardbound book filed with the musings of the esteemed Jedi Archivist. Grand Master Satele Shan also includes her thoughts on relevant passages. It is beautifully illustrated with full color artwork depicting the events mentioned. The reader feels the emotional impact that the various conflicts had on both. Gnost-Dural's own research into the Sith have the Jedi a greater understanding of their formidable enemies. Three posters are included: The Jedi Temple Floor plan, the Shield Generator Defense Plan by Master Belth Allusis and the Treaty of Coruscant. Chapters are listed below.
#1 On the History of the Jedi Order
#2 The Return of the Sith Empire
#3 The Early Days of the Great War
#4 The Battle of Bothawui
#5 Studying the History of the Sith Empire
#6 The Mystery of the Sith Emperor
#7 The Battle of Alderaan
#8 The Mandalorian Blockade
#9 The Sacking of Coruscant
#10 Events After the Treaty of Coruscant

Like most Jedi, Master Gnost-Dural helped defend the Republic and was sent to several battles. He loved the Jedi archives and petitioned the Jedi Council to allow him to research the Sith in an effort to aid the Jedi, since their knowledge was scarce at points. He is also featured in one of my favorite books, Star Wars Annihilation. This is informative and fascinating look at a tumultuous period in Jedi and Republic history. I loved it! I wish we had more from this era.

Just finished "The Journal of Master Gnost-Dural", an in-universe companion book that ties in to the SW: The Old Republic MMORPG. Super short with lots of pictures; only recommended for diehard SW fans.

Interesting additive to the Knights of the Old Republic storyline as well as the game itself. Its simply some lore filler that provides more depth to the period as well as the entire timeline. The artwork puts some nice visuals to the journal entries as well and it helps to fully immerse the reader into the world itself. Definitely enjoyed.
