I first encountered Geoffrey Mildmay and Burke Wilkinson in 1979 at a Doubleday Bookstore with the omnibus collection THE ADVENTURES OF GEOFFREY MILDMAY containing the three book series. I loved it then and I'm delighted to see the books available in ebook form, they are a fine mix of John Buchan, Ian Fleming, and Evelyn Waugh, and Mildmay, patriot, hero, and perhaps something darker is as fine a company as he ever was. Swashbuckling, adventure, and intrigue were seldom this stylish.
Is Geoffrey Mildmay a hero, a traitor, or just a womanizing cad? This well-written WWII thriller (published in 1948) will keep you guessing right up to the very end.
