When Jack's gambling debts catch up to him and he's about to lose both his legs, if he's lucky, to his loan shark, he decides to sell his time for three years to the highest bidder, hoping someone is willing to pay him enough to clear his debts for good.
Is he jumping from the frying pan into the fire? Only time will tell.
Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."
A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.
Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.
A great quickie! Kinky and smoking hot. A typical Sean Michael read. As for such a short story we get to know quite much about the MCs, especially about Jack.
I loved how Jack was totally inexperienced in the BDSM lifestyle, and still he was brave enough to try it and to enjoy it. And I loved how JF was, at the same time, indulging and patient but also firm and open about his desires and needs.
Not very complicated, but deliciously kinky - exactly what I needed right now ;)
Loan sharks ready to bust kneecaps forces Jack to do something he never imagined. He is selling his body to be a sexual slave for three years. I'm hooked. I want to know what is going to happen to Jack.
Jack is very lucky as he's basically a virgin with no training and a great body. This increases his value. Frankly, I'm stunned with the amount of money paid to take Jack's anal virginity and the opportunity to train him to be a sexual submissive. Jack has a long road ahead of him since he can't even understand addressing his new owner with the appropriate title.
The story was too short for me. I believe this might be the start of a series. All we learn is Jack's purchase by JF at the auction house. The lengthy prep work prior to the auction was a little bit too much foreplay for me. Ultimately, it felt as if we are only watching act one of a play. There may be several more acts to follow, we don't know. I am hoping there will be, as I'd like to see Jack taken to the extremes. The voyeur in me wants to be there the first time he takes it up the arse. The sadist in me desires to spy upon his first intense punishment scene. The sensualist in me yearns for his first edging scene where he's brought to the edge of an orgasm over and over until he's about to break and then still denied.
This short story is the light appetizer before the main meal. I recommend this story to m/m lovers who want a little tease show.
This story is a perfect teaser - hopefully for a lot more than the initial auction and first few scenes between Jack and his new Master for 3 years, JF. The characters are fun, and what they get up to is very sweet. There is no serious BDSM anywhere to be seen, but it keeps being hinted at, increasing the 'teasing potential' of this story.
Jack is a construction worker, a real 'man's man' in his own mind. He has had no choice in the blue-collar environment he has grown up in, but there seems to be potential for more once he is 'bought' by JF. He tries to be brave when he encounters all these new ideas, but is adorably helpless instead. Honesty is one of his strongest traits, and I think it will serve him well as he discovers a whole new way of life.
JF is a great guy. Richer than Midas and bored out of his mind, he starts out seeing Jack as potential 'entertainment'. Nobody is more shocked than he when he discovers there may be more between them. Instead of being the strict Master he could be (based on the contract), he decides to become Jack's guide into a new, sensual world of kinky activities.
I hope there will eventually be a full novel featuring these two guys - not just another book in what, nevertheless, looks like a very promising series. If you like contrasting characters, a bit of 'rags to riches', and some very hot and sweet action between the sheets, you will probably like this short book.
First of all, the whole concept of the Shibari Auction House is very interesting and I was excited to learn more about the first two MC's. In the first chapter, we are meeting Jack, who decides to sell himself to the highest bidder in order to pay his gambling debt. After just a single look at Jack, JF decides to buy him. I really liked the interaction between the characters, the way they were talking to each other - considering the circumstances - felt very credible. The sex scenes were well written and I liked the hints and the sexual tension between them. Going to follow the series! 4 stars!
I really loved the idea of a guy who was completely new to the scene selling himself. I would have loved to see him experience more than just vanilla sex for the first time. I have read the first 3 books in this series already and this first one was just vanilla. Although JF talks a lot about the things he wants to do to Jack, they don't get that far. This one was sadly very short and we don't get an epilogue 😔, although it is made clear enough that they will find happiness together. It was a great intro to an enticing story, but not a whole story.
Shibari Auction House: Jack by Sean Michael is the first book in a new series that promises to be very good. The main characters JF and Jack meet as a consequence of Jack's outrageous gambling debts. To save himself from his debtor, Jack auctions off three years of his life to JF. Beginning a relationship on such unbalanced terms, even a BDSM relationship, would seem risky, but JF and Jack appear to be off to a great start. The chemistry between these two unlikely bedfellows is strong.
Michael is great at writing BDSM stories that skirt around the edges of the lifestyle and Shibari Auction House is no exception. This is different from Michael's usual fare though; Jack is definitely no twink. The tug of war between these two strong men is interesting to watch and the sex is not bad either.
Shibari Auction: Jack is a fun read. It's worth 4 stars for originality and execution. The only problem with the story is the brevity. How's this relationship going to proceed? How will two individuals from such different backgrounds make their relationship work? Perhaps, Michael will take up these details in the next installment.
This is a short story m/m erotica read. I can't really say it's a BDSM story though. It skims the surface of that aspect and has superficial attempts to use BDSM but really doesn't get into much. The premise and plot were promising. Rich man purchasing the sexual services of a blue collar level man for a set term in a contract setting with very few restrictions. Sounded yummy. After reading it though I just couldn't connect with it. JF's character was very confusing to me. Was he a strong Dom or a wanna be? This book just didn't work for me probably because of its short length which limited its development. I did love the Shibari Auction House premise though and will read further books with this theme if published.
The final line is "Just the Beginning". That's how short this story was. I liked the characters, but what first started turning me off Sean Michael was that there was actually too much sex.
This story and the next one also seem to be a short interesting premise with a bunch of sex slapped on top and no real depth. I hate to say it but I won't be getting book #3 in this series.
I'm a serious Velvet Glove fan and I like most of the Hammer series, but more and more often I'm giving these books 3 or less.
The story premise is good, the characters had potential to be really interesting and if you like a LOT of sex, then you'll enjoy this book.
I love the book. I love the idea and the story concept. I love Jack and JF. The only problem with the book just as it is starting it is over. I wanted to read about their 3 years together about how their relationship developed and their master/slave relationship got deeper. This book had the potential of being a knock out book series but it falls short simply because it is to short. But what is there is great!
Jack has got himself into real trouble, with a loan shark. Needing lots of money and fast, he sells himself to the highest bidder for 3 years. The book shows the auction and the first 24 hours or so, but there is so much more that could be told. I hope there is more to come. This was an appetiser and nothing more, I was left wanting at least this length story again, telling if first BDSM, proper training, punishment and reward etc.
More please, get it you'll love it and the series.
Omg,how could you end it there! A great read all the way through and way to much unsaid yet. Very much worth the money spent. Hoping the mate book is coming out very very soon. Gotta find out what happens between them and Jacks debts . Want to know more about their experiences together, should be so much fun
I enjoyed this more than 3 stars reflects. I liked both of the characters, I just wish it would have been longer. I wanted to be able to watch their relationship unfold, and watch how Jack adjusts to his new circumstances.
I enjoyed this book, but it was too short. I need to know what happens next. Bloody hell, just getting into it and it was over. I would suggest ignoring the cover though, it's hideous
Terrific read! Hot, hot sex scenes. Loved the main characters, Jack & JF, and I've got my fingers crossed hoping we'll get to learn more about them in future books!
A short, sweet, sexy hot series. This one ends in a HFN. They can be read stand-alone but better when read together as they all take place starting in the Shirbari Auction House.
Jack had no idea what he was getting into..but Jf just eased him into it...I love this Shibari series and have lost count on how many times I have read them..They just get better and better x
Oh boy, this was a yummy read. Unfortunately, it's too short to be satisfying. If only it was a full length novel. GIven the title, I was really hoping rope would make an appearance. *sigh*
