Has God called you or someone you know to the ministry? Find out for sure. This practical book aims to help teens and young adults understand what ordained ministry is and decide whether or not they are called to it. Each chapter offers answers to several questions that young people typically have about the ministry or their own call to ministry.
This was one of the first books I read when I first entered college. I don’t remember hearing a lot about God’s call growing up. Therefore this became one of the first resources I had to wrestle with my own call to ministry. I especially enjoyed reading about the different types/timelines in a person’s call to ministry.
A good exposition of the cloudy topic of the call to ministry. Very practical and some good takeaways. Did not find the writing style engaging so took a long time to make my way through it, but grateful for this resource.
Loaned to me by a pastor friend. Written from what feels like a holiness Church perspective with a leaning toward charismatic practice. The writing is simple. I wished the book pointed more toward discernment as a process rather than a calling as just a signature divine event.
This is a very beneficial book to read for young adults who are going into the ministry. It addresses topics one doesn't necessarily know to think about (such as types of ordination and callings) and encourages the reader to apply the principles to his/her own life. My only problem with it is the rather large amount of editing errors.
