During a childhood dominated by a sometimes violent father, whose unpredictable mood swings were fuelled by alcohol, Fiona Roberts took comfort from the knowledge that the Spirit World was watching. She knew. She could see 'them'. Her first encounter with a spirit person came at the age of four, when a 'woman in black' appeared in front of her. This book will bring comfort to those who would like to believe that there is no death, and that they will one day be reunited with their loved ones - human or animal. "There has never been a time in my life when I did not know that there is a life after death, and indeed a life before life. I grew up knowing that - no one had to tell me. And I grew up knowing that it is possible for those who now live on in the Spirit World to contact us here in the material world. I cherish the contact that I have had, throughout my life, with 'the other side'." Fiona Roberts 'Ghost of a Smile' is the bestselling first part of Fiona Roberts' story. 'Voices' , the second part, is now available. A much longer book, 'Voices' contains beautifully written stories and anecdotes from Fiona Roberts' psychic experiences, plus fascinating examples and explanations of some of the more common forms of communication with the spirit world. 'Ghost of a Smile' and 'Voices' are Amazon Bestsellers. See all Fiona Roberts' books at spanglefish.com/fionaroberts
I come from a family of clairvoyants and sailors, so I suppose it's no surprise that I have travelled quite a bit, nor that I now work as a Medium/psychic. I lived 10 years in Paris early on, teaching English - enjoyed every moment of it! I began writing then. I ran an agency promoting the work of mediums, psychics and clairvoyants when I got back to England. In 2009 Tod (my lovely husband) and I spent 5 months in a remote village in the Himalayas of Nepal teaching English. That was an eye opening life changer! We have been back twice, and plan to go again soon. Tod and I have allotments and grow fruit and vegetables, and we have a flock of ex battery chickens, and a fantastic rescue dog called Buzz. Oh, and I spend quite a lot of time writing!
It was OK but I didn't see the relevance of some parts and skipped over some parts that had too much detail without actually saying anything. The book gave good evidence of the afterlife and found the author's accounts of childhood heartbreaking. The end of the book didn't give a conclusion, just an abrupt end that left me frustrated, like the author just stopped as she couldn't be bothered to finish the book properly, or as if the session was up.
This is a memoir of a medium. It is highly readable, but not very very exciting. The author, was drawing out events in her life that were significant to being a medium. what was lacking was a build up of atmosphere. I wanted to know more about what happens in a Spiritualist church, there wasn't any description of that although there could be privacy reasons.
