Tasteful nudes, set in the Lake Superior wilderness. A naked woman trespasses in these natural landscapes. She is sprawled on beaches or hiding in granite outcrops. The nude model featured in these photographs is Honey Blacklock, the photographer’s wife.
This book contains some of the most amazing photography I've ever seen that combines the human form with the landscape, and explores the relationships between the shapes, geometry, and emotion inherent in each subject. I've wanted a copy of this book ever since I saw these photographs displayed in an art gallery in Minneapolis several years ago, and finally obtained a copy, which I now treasure. Blacklock was gracious enough to allow me to use one of the images for the cover of my poetry book when it was published in 2012. He's one of Minnesota's most accomplished artists, and deserves a wider audience for his work.
This is extremely classy. The images are a beautiful tribute to Minnesota and the female body. I love how the focus is on the scenery, with Honey (the author's wife) being part of the backdrop, but not the entire photo.
