Highly recommend this for every Christian woman who is interested in learning to pray more. I really liked this book. It has been very helpful in growing my prayer life.

The layout of the book is great. Each chapter has a checklist of 3 things to do and there is a study guide at the end of the book for each chapter. The checklist has helped me apply what I've learned in each chapter. More important than the layout is that the information is extremely helpful. You can feel the author's heart for God in it and how important prayer is to her.

Again, highly recommend!

I'm encouraged by the depth of this book. It's definitely going to be a book you will see on my "currently-reading" list for months. There are specific exercises to do in order form habits that will no doubt last a life-time. SO, I'm not just dragging my feet...I'm digesting. :)

I think this is the best book on prayer I have ever read. I am starting today to read through this book again and, by the grace of God, to put into practice these disciplines of prayer.
I love the passion and practicality with which Elizabeth George writes. I have read a number of her books, but didn’t know until now that she is from Granite, OK!!

I LOVED this book! It’s great for those who need a little guidance in trying to figure out why they have such a hard time getting started on the journey through a life of prayer.

Elizabeth George does a great job describing things in our daily lives that keep us distracted from a life of prayer. She offers ways to identify distractions, and well thought out plans on how to deal with them. I also love the real life stories that she adds, because it makes everything she’s talking about much easier to relate to.

Great read!

I really liked this book. I decided I was going to read it AND do the "assignments" she gave. I now have a prayer notebook and have it organized loosely on her suggestions. (I did not use her check off calendar.) Her heart for prayer is inspiring, and not at all condemning or preachy. Her suggestions make a lot of sense and are quite easy to do in small increments so as not to be overwhelming and fail from grandiose expectations on oneself.

I came down with shingles shortly after finishing it and was so ill, that I quickly fell out of my new habits I started and already am missing the spiritual renewal that I was experiencing as a result of reading this book and making a new commitment to prayer.

Definitely a priority now that I'm on the mend again.

After reading a few books of Ms George My Daughter bought me this book for Mother's Day. I have enjoyed every page and every point she has made. She follows up her thoughts with scripture from the Bible making it more real. Whether you have been a Christian for YEARS or a newly born again Christian. Everyone can learn and get closer to God through this book

Elizabeth George masters the heart of women, and encourages those who wish to strengthen faith through prayer. A great choice for personal enrichment. Would also be appropriate for a group book study.

A few too many "dear heart"s and "beloved"s at times, but overall I loved the message and the personal, practical way in which she writes.
