It was okay. I found myself skimming both the sex scenes and the other interactions. I hate storylines where someone is keeping a "secret" from the other and thinking they won't want them because of it. I was glad though Ethan handled it the way he did.
I wish I had known this was not a simple, sweet story of Ethan Steward finding his long lost love, Lise. Parts of this book are very disturbing. The short Book Description certainly did not prepare me for what was coming. In my opinion, the readers should have been warned that this book contain a vivid description of a horrendous crime. Personally, I would have preferred that the author did not include the details of the attack, as I could not get the scene out of my mind, which in this case, is not a good thing. I literally had to stop reading the sections in the book that described it. The Ethan and Lise had a brief, but very passionate love affair while they were college. These long lost lovers meet again 6 years later, and that is where this book begins. The 6 years they were apart, were not good years for either of them. Ethan is a shadow of the man he was, as his ex-wife did a real number on him. Lise is a survivor of an unspeakable crime. She turns to writing erotic novels after her sexless honeymoon. As for Ethan and Lise’s reunion, it was romantic and sexy, though the path to true love is never easy. These two have much to overcome, but they are such a great couple, and really deserve much happiness. Ethan shows such care and affection towards Lise, that it just warms your heart. The strength, the loyalty, the bond, and tenderness of Stewart Brothers is what made this book for me. I really am fond of each one of them, with Alex’s being my favorite. I can hardly wait to read his story next. Rating 3.5 Stars.
I have been to several B&B’s but none could be as seductive as a B&B run by 3 hot and sexy brothers who have superpowers (wink wink). That just makes me melt. This one is about the eldest brother Ethan. Years ago he fell for an undergrad named Lisa Evans. They went on spring break and she never returned. This story is about them and finding each other again. Oh how the sparks fly! My heart broke for Annalise for the tragic incident that happened to her. My heart broke for her and I was rooting for her thru the whole book. I cried, laughed, gasped in horror, swooned and cheered. Sable brings such life to her characters that you can’t help but be involved in their lives. Looking forward to reading the next installment - Scarlet Fever.
Oh my goodness!!! What a touching and passionate love story by Sable Hunter. Ethan and Lise's romance is a wonderful melody which began six years ago and finally completed with the re-joining of 2 hearts that were simply meant to be. Full of heart tugging moments, passion, laughter, strong family ties and love, this is another unforgettable story that is guaranteed to stay with you for years to come.
Review to follow. I'm always entranced by Sable Hunter's words and this time was no different. I feel as though I need to step away for a bit in order to do this story justice.
This was a sweet story, but a little too cheesy for me.
What I liked: 1) This story was sweet. 2) Low drama. No angst for angst's sake. 3) There was not a manwhore in sight! Is that even possible in NA romance? I wish I liked this story more than I did for this fact alone 4) The alternating povs, with some other secondary characters' povs thrown in the mix.
What I didn't like: 1) This was too cheesy for my tastes. Although the story was so sweet, Ethan was just too sweet to be true. 2) I don't like it when an h or H discounts the love they had with anyone previously, esp. the love they shared with a spouse. It doesn't matter how terrible the spouse was. Just because it wasn't like the love they shared with their current love interest, don't just throw it away with statements like: "I thought I loved her, but I didn't even understand what real love was until I met you." Honestly, I think that's mean and cheapens the concept of love in general. Why can't the character just admit that their love was based on a lie, that it was a mistake, instead of just saying it wasn't real?
To be honest, I find the plot quite interesting. That's why I purchased this book in the first place. I have read some of Sable Hunter's books before and I enjoyed them. But this book.. I don't know.
I find the heroine kind of strangely annoying. I feel bad for her experience, really, I cried for her, because what happened is scary and life threatening. But her relationship with the Hero is, I don't know, I don't like it. I can't really explain, I just don't really like her attitude toward Ethan.
Ethan too, he's not exactly my favorite. I think he's a bit weak and sometimes his insecurities annoying. I was like, get over it, dude!
So yeah, I think this book is not my cup of tea. Even the closure's not strong enough. Could be so much better.
I love Sable hunters writing it keeps me wanting more. this book was no different. when annalise is having writers block she was told to go this B&B but what she didnt know it was run by the man she has been in her dreams and books for years.face to face with Ethan is like coming home to her. they go through the tough time and rough time of her past and what happened between them both never knew someone had sab their relationship, but if its true love which it is between them then they can get through anything. this is such a good love story and it has it all. the family of ethan is 3 brothers and wow were do i find such wonderful men. lol
Annalise dated Ethan for only a week before she went on vaction with her family .. Something happen to Annalise while she was a away and she tried calling Ethan but somehow her never got her message .. Six years go by and they come face to face with each other but Annalise has secrets that she needs to tell Ethan .. This a great read
"Unchained Melody" (Hill Country Heart Book 1) by Sable Hunter is a fantastic read. I loved reading about Annalise and Ethan. This story has romance, passion, suspense, second chances, and more. I can't wait to read what happens next with this series in "Scarlet Fever" (Hill Country Heart Book 2). Highly recommend to all fans of romance, second chances, happily ever afters, and series.
I thought this was a wonderful story of love lost then found. Anna's story is heart wrenching and the reader cries with happy tears when reunited with her one and only love...
I usually enjoy Sable Hunters's books. They are always very entretening and super hot..and this one was no exception. I do think it is important though, to give a heads-up for anyone that may be disturbed - or triggered - by sexual violence as this story includes an explicit rape scene which was quite painful to read and unexpected in an otherwise typical erotic romance plot.
Started with this story and I was intrigued by the love lived in these two for six years. But was happy with the outcome, and that Ethan and Annalise are getting their happily every after.
First let me say that I love everything Sable Hunter writes, I started reading her Hell Yeah series first, which is why I love her writing. There were a few of her books still on my to be read list, and this series was one of them, but I can honestly say that they are every bit as good as her Hell Yeah series, and that in no way surprises me. This is the story of Annalise Ramsey and Ethan Stewart. They shared a passionate week together, six years ago, and then she disappeared from his life, he never knew why and although he searched he could not find her. At that time Annalise went through a horrendous assault, one that changed her life forever. Now in the present time she goes to The Lost Maples, a bed and breakfast, where she hopes to break through her writers block, yes she is now an erotic romance author! Little does she know that Ethan and his brothers, Alex and Bobby own the B&B. Although Annalise is overjoyed to see Ethan again, she is so afraid that her secret of what she had been thorough, could tear them apart again. Is there anyway that Ethan can handle her scars? This is a fantastic book, and although some of it is so sad, it also a beautiful love story. Ethan is the greatest, and the love that he and his brothers share for each other is over the top, and I cannot wait to read their stories. I thought that Tiny and Mojo were so cute and I loved the names of the cabins at the bed & breakfast. I highly recommend this book to anybody who loves romance. It is passionate and sexy and you will not be able to put it down.
So I just finished reading Unchained Melody by Sable Hunter and this book was HOT and so full of emotion that my heart was on a rollercoaster. Ethan and Annalise have an instant attraction which I love jump ahead 6 years and they don’t know where the other is and have moved on in life but have never forgotten about the passion they shared. Poor Lise has been so scarred inside and out that it has taken a toll on her and the fact that she believes no one could love her the way she is. Ethan is a strong man who has been verbally attacked and belittled for so long that it has taken a toll on him. I actually liked this part of the book because it shows that no matter how big and strong that you are that words can and do hurt and that you can the strongest person to their knees if you say the right thing to them. Ethan is part of a great family structure and it’s great to see the comradely that they have with one another and how they have each others’ back. Can wait to read the rest of this series to see what happens to the rest of the Stewart boys. This book was a quick read for me not in page wise but as in the fact that I looked up and couldn’t believe how much time had passed.
Loved it! I still can't understand the way every book I read from this author is like she went in my mind and came out with those stories. Her stories are sweet, full of love and hotness. I was expecting something else towards the ending, but I loved it nevertheless.
I just started this book this morning and I couldn't stop reading it. The love these two have for each other and the thought that they have been apart for six years is so sad but they have found their happy ending.
Heartwarming and beautiful beginning to The Hill Country Hearts Series that is about lost loves reunited and despite the challenges they must overcome, there is a life filled with love in the future.
Aww Ethan rocks. I like that he pretty much new along about Lise's secret but didn't say anything and showed her how beautiful she was because he loved her. Very well written and steamy!
