Young soldier, Coop, goes door to door with conscription notices. He meets a wanton woman, Lucy, who seduces him in order to divert him summoning her son, Kentu. As their relationship develops it is thwarted by Kentu's objections and Coop being called away on another mission. During his next mission, Coop is blinded in battle and returns to Lucy's home only to find his homeland strangely more unsettling than the battlefront.
