I wanted to read this book after seeing the blurb on the front cover that said, "Great fun, especially for fans of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series."

What a letdown. This book is nothing like the Plum books. I found it difficult to get past the choppy writing and the weird way the author handles quotations.

Another annoyance is that one of the most important characters in the book is names Marlys, just like the author. What is that all about?

This is my first Charlie Greene book. I know it is not the first in the series, but I don't know as though it is important that I read the prior books. I really enjoyed the family interaction in the middle of BF Iowa. However, the writing style was just not for me. Also, I got a little tired of being beat over the head with how bad nursing homes are. I'd give it a 2.5 and round up.
