Claire is living a boring life, full of little humiliations and impossible dreams. That is, until she gets a secretive invitation to see the mysterious Doctor.
Claire is skeptical about his treatment at first, but hell, what does she have to lose? At least it's exciting. She doesn't expect the Doctor to be so tall, so attractive, so commanding. She doesn't expect to be examined so...thoroughly. She doesn't expect to be disciplined so effectively. And she doesn't expect to be fucked nearly unconscious, coming until she can't see straight.
But Claire's treatment isn't over yet. The Doctor has big, big plans for her...
About Doctor's Orders...
Lost, listless Claire is unexpectedly swept up in a complicated dance of dominance and sexual submission with the Doctor himself, all as part of her treatment. Each session, she learns something new about herself and her sexual desires. Each session, she gets closer to her ultimate goal: the Doctor himself.
This is #1 in the Doctor's Orders series. All the stories in this series can be read on their own, satisfying each individual kink, or can be read together. Happy reading!
WARNING: This short story (about 8,000 words) contains hardcore BDSM play, including Doctor play (of course!), spanking, discipline, a little pain, a sex harness, blind fucking, denied orgasm...and more. This is a fantasy. In real life you might want to be a little more careful...
I have an overactive imagination and too much time on my hands, and the result is...well, lots of books! Which is probably better than the alternative. ;)
I love writing steamy and erotic romances, some dark, some light, but always about something that moves me. And, because I'm totally a sucker, love tends to win out. Everyone deserves a happy ending. :)
My contemporary BDSM erotic romance series, Club Volare, has hit the genre bestseller charts on Amazon a few times, which is just awesome. Right now there are two books, Sold to the Sheikh and Tied to the Tycoon, with a third, Disciplined by the Dom, due in February 2013. And I've also got this paranormal series in the very beginning stages of development that I'm super excited about. When I'm not writing those, I'm gonna be reading -- if you've got any good recs, send them my way!
And if you want to hear about those new releases when they come out, you can sign up for my New Releases list here (I *only* use it for that; I hate spam so much!).
This is a 26 page story of Pure Erotic Fantasy. I read it back in September 2013 but never left a review.
It is not meant to resemble 'Real Life' at all. In fact the author says in her synopsis and in the story, "This is a fantasy. In real life you might want to be a little more careful... "
It contains hardcore BDSM play.
This story is meant to be a simple, short, super hot and fast paced Fantasy Erotica. And on that it very much delivers.
I admit it made me blush. Profusely! 🔥😊🔥 Just thinking about this story to write this review has my face a wee bit...... Warm. 🥵👋
If you decide to give it a try I suggest you have a fan and perhaps some ice nearby. You will most likely need it.
I am pretty sure this free short story was part of a series and maybe that’s why I didn’t really enjoy it.
It begins when a girl named Claire gets a letter in the mail inviting her to the Doctor’s house. She has lived a boring life and is sick of it. She doesn’t know what the Doctor’s house is but decides to show up anyway. She is greeted by the ‘Doctor’ and he begins his examination.
I will stop there because there is not much more to be said. I know this is a fantasy book and its not real, but come on! If you were to get a letter in the mail telling you to show up to this mansion and then the guy starts probing you inside and out, I would not get turned on, I would get the hell away from there! She trusts the doctor even though she has no idea who he is. I don’t know. I didn’t enjoy this story. I am glad it was free. I will not read the rest in the series. I do not recommend. That’s all.
Like seriously WTF.. I mean I didnt have much expectations from the book.. But still. This was the most confusing book ever. She receives an invitation to go visit the doctor- and enters the bdsm mansion where a random dude gives her a physical?! And there are naked maids?! It has nothing to do with me being a doctor- but still..this is just plain weird. The only reason it gets the two stars is for the random penetration scene with the stranger (Which was hot) Other than that..Nope. 1.75/5
Sometimes I get in a reading funk. We've all been there right? When your TBR mountain is so overwhelming that you don't know what to read next. When this happens to me I like to browse the freebies in Barnes and Noble and find some off the wall (to me) short stories. Ones that either the title or cover jumps out at me saying "Look at me! I'm ridiculous! I'm not what you normally read but hey I'm free so why not?!" I like these, it gives me a chance to decide what I want to read next but still keeps my "reading mojo" going. It also helps me try new authors that I've never heard of before. And this is exactly how I stumbled upon this book. Not really my cup of tea (not a huge BDSM fan) but I thought it was pretty good. Only 23 pages so it's super quick. Nothing really super heavy but still pretty good. The plot and storyline is intriguing and I'm sure this will do very well as a series.
Erotic short read Doctor's Orders The Exam....Claire accepts an invitation with The Doctor and undergoes an exam that has nothing to do with medicine. Has some erotic restraint harness scenes where the Doctor controls Claire's arousal and insists on Trust before he allows an unknown character to give Claire the release she needs. Explores that fear, embarrassing excitement many women experience visiting a handsome dominant Gynaecologist. Better than 3 but not quite 4 stars.
Only the second story I've read by Cox. Strange considering how long ago I read that other story, and how much I liked it. Granted it was odd, but still. Also, I've had this story here, free, for probably two years. Or around that. But never got around to reading it. And forgot I had it.
A woman receives an invitation. It's a black card. With black text. So, obviously, she can't read it and throws it away. And that's that. Story over. Heh. No. Blackness, and monochronistic coloration seems to be a theme. Though how exactly someone is supposed to read black text on a black card, I don't know. But anyway, the woman is able to read it. And sees that it is an appointment. For "The Doctor." She's not going to go, but, depressed at 5 o'clock the night of the appointment, she relents. And goes.
She finds what looks like a rich house in a rich area. When she arrives a voice tells her to enter. And leave her coat. She then wanders in, finds a reception area with weird chairs and no receptionist. Scary horror movie scraping suddenly starts. Door creaks open. A basically naked woman, but for a bikini, pushes a dust pan in. And . . . pushes it around. The woman, Claire, is quite aroused. Suddenly spots a man. Man tells her to follow.
She, seeing how spooky, horror-film-esque, and completely creepy everything is, hurriedly flees. Wait, no, she follows the man. Hurriedly. Almost losing him. But finally notices he has gone into the basement. Well, down stairs. Assumption is that it is basement like.
Finds herself in something like an exam room. I kind of pictured dark heavy paneling, like in a gentleman's club, thick carpet. Desk. And, randomly strewn around the room, medical tables/equipment.
She is questioned. With weird questions. "Why are you here?" "duh, I got an invitation." "no, really, why are you here?" "Dude? Did you not send me an invitation?" Heh, no, not the conversation but similar. She's aroused. He's commanding. One thing leads to another and she's naked on a table with her legs up in stirrups. Brought to the brink of orgasm. Before the man leaves her there.
Etc., etc. Interesting story. Completely unbelievable, but interesting. Reading it with the idea that you are in a dream like world, a different world, one unlike our own, then it is quite entertaining and erotic. Which is how I read it. Trying to fathom what the fuck is going on, and noticing how completely off the wall everything is, like I didn't read it, and you will not enjoy.
Quick thoughts: Promising, Provoking and D/S goodness
This was a strange story. Strange in that it was arousing, but also at the same time I kept asking- What the fuck? I know it was because of the whole concept that this woman just waltzed into the doctor’s office after not knowing anything about him or making an appointment. She just gets this invitation in the mail and then the whole thing unfolds when she actually goes and meets her appointment. I think a little more back story behind that would have made more realistic, but in saying that to me this was meant to be a fantasy situation so really while reading it, it didn’t bother me. After a while I got over the idea and began to explore the story on a different level.
I am kind of obsessed with the idea of being explored. Being examined I guess you could say. There is something satisfying to me in reading about someone who’s mind and body are opened up so that they can really explore themselves. I know from experience that sometimes you have to take great and dangerous risks to experience this and sometimes those risks that start as fear become something of pleasure and you learn so much from them. I am hoping this is the case with the rest of the books and that we get to learn a little bit more about the doctor. I do know he is meant to be mysterious, but for me it’s the subtle hints of background story that really pull me in. In case of Clair I think it was done well.
Chloe did a great job at keeping me interested and stimulated throughout the story and I really enjoyed the little excerpt at the end of the book too. I am curious to see where she will take the series and what parts of Clair the Doctor will explore. I would recommend this for people with an interest in fantasy situations and BDSM.
Mmmm ... calling Doctor Dom, calling Doctor Dom, sexual healing in naughty exam room #1 -- stat!
What's not to love in this story, eh? Well written, fantasy-driven erotica with a heroine who's stupid enough to accept an invitation from a stranger and smart enough to appreciate the value of a free, thorough pelvic exam. With today's rising health care costs, you can't blame a girl for taking advantage of a bargain.
As for Doctor Dom, I assume he's able to provide this free care because he's saving big bucks on janitorial services, what with using his presumably-unpaid, bikini-clad slave to sweep his offices. Oh sure, pushing that dust pan around with her nose isn't terribly efficient, but as my mama always said, beggars can't be choosers.
We should all applaud Doctor Dom for his creativity in other areas as well. For instance, he eschews using the exam table and stirrups to restrain dear Claire for her final probing. No, that would be trite and this alpha male doc is too clever for that. Instead, he pulls out his trusty suspension kit and soon has Claire spread-eagled in mid air and properly primed for the grand finale.
Bravo, Sir. Take me where I least expect it -- and, ahem, I most assuredly mean that figuratively. You can stick Claire with the literal.
The Exam is book one in the short BDSM erotica series, Doctor's Orders by Chloe Cox. This story had potential for BDSM but instead it got weird. Weird.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The story actually has potential, but it is still the author's task to further increase the amount of additional information to be given, so that the novel does not just seem like porn to read. But this problem could easily be solved in the next books of the “Doctor's Orders” series. However, I am still unsure whether I will continue reading the series.
This introduction to the Doctor is so provocative that I got hot and bothered just reading. Claire is so uptight that it is hard for her to release and when she finally does she knows that she belongs to the Doctor.
This is the story of Claire. One day she receives a mysterious invitation to a doctor's appointment. I'm not the type of person that gets into incomplete stories. I like to know the aspects of why something is happening to a character. Why did Claire receive this invitation? Why was she chosen? Was she said scouted? Did The Doctor investigate her himself? It seems like the reader comes in the middle of this story.
However, this is a story I can get into. Claire sees something is wrong with her life. She has nothing to lose by exploring this new experience. She is tired of being scared and being placed in a box by herself and others. She can move forward even though things seem scary. This is a new adventure, a new door. I also like throughout the story that her interaction with The Doctor makes her think of what is inside of her that hasn't come out. What does The Doctor see in her that she hasn't seen herself and how is he going to bring it out? Why does The Doctor notice her?
The reader doesn't find out anything about The Doctor. I wish there was more of a description of him. I wanted to feel more of his dominance, but didn't receive much of that. That was a disappointment. I didn't find the sex scenes overtly sexy. They didn't take me anywhere, but still alright for a short story, which is what I felt this should have been. Overall, my interest won't be enough for me to buy the installment but this was a good try.
This book is labeled as erotica. Please do not read this review if you are not comfortable with that type of book.
Claire is unhappy with her life. She feels like nothing is going right when she receives the invitation to see the Doctor. The Doctor will challenge her thoughts and her sexuality.
While you typical erotica has a scene of sexual escapade played out, what this has it not only a scene but emotional questions. What prevents her from going after her dreams? Is being a receptionist what she really wanted to be all her life?
The Exam is the first in a four part series that makes up a set called The Doctor's Orders, which is a full story of Claire, the Doctor, Gerald and more. It has the makings a a true romance only with more erotica than you normally get in a romance.
This had to be one of the least liked books I've read in quite some time. I'm always honest with my feeling about a book but I have to refrain from being totally honest about my initial reactions after reading this story. It was a quick read, and thank goodness for that. The book seemed to have made little to no sense other then the fact that there was a girl who decides to go to a strange place and willingly allow anything to happen to her. There seemed to be a lack of common sense among the girl in the story and I just kept asking why. Why did she get this invitation, why did she go, why why why why. I had to give the story at least two stars. One out of pity and another for the simple fact that at least it was properly written even if the actual story was bit laughable.
This is a quick read. About 30 pgs. It's the beginning of a series. (Buy the whole set instead of each story). Claire is stuck in a rut and is not happy with her life. She gets a card in the mail for a doc apt and doesn't know why. With nothing better to do, she decides to go. Shows up a mansion and a voice tells her to come in take off her coat. She watches as a half naked woman comes down a hall on her knees and a broom in her mouth. She starts to freak a little and the doc walks in. Orders her to fallow. She runs after him to the basement/exam room. He offers her a safe word. She is not sure what is going to happen. She fallows orders and put to the test(s) if only a few minutes, then shown out the door with her next apt card.
The plot is absolutely ridiculous and Claire is TSTL (too stupid to live). For all she knows the "Doctor" could be a serial killer. She doesn't know where the invitation comes from or what kind of Doctors appointment it is, but she goes anyway and participates with nary a second thought. I know it's fiction but this reads like a pamphlet for what NOT to do.
This was a nice quick read. Very good for the kinky at heart. Really got the heart rate up and the blood flowing ;-) if your looking for a quick fix, you have come to the right spot.
ADDED 12/3/14 @ 11:45 P.M. (EST) This is a work of fiction and a good read in the way that horror movies are good. It's entertainment, but if it really happened in real life then it would be unacceptable.
Jeg er normalt en stor fan af denne genre, men denne bog var lidt for ekstrem og voldsom for min smag. Sad og tænkte på at denne bog var en gyserhistorie og ikke erotisk. Slet IKKE en fornøjelse at læse.
These are some doctor's orders I would never take. Absolutely strange and not a great read. Short and has some strange scenes but nothing great. I probably will not read the rest of this series just because I thought that the whole thing was odd.
It was extremely well written, just not my type of kink.
If you like BDSM and the whole doctor/patient play, then I'd say give it a try - but this is erotica. I definitely need a little romance in my reads :)
I have now read several of Chloe Cox's books/short stories. For some reason this one just was weird. Maybe it's because I actually AM a doctor. Not sure. I just thought the whole idea was very forced. Especially comparing it to some of her other works. This one just come up short.
A good short story about a girls' first taste of BDSM. The ending leaves you wanting more and looking forward to the next book/story in the series, which I will definitely be reading soon.
