From the back “ ‘The Candy Cookbook’ features over 50 recipes for delicious, homemade truffles, caramels, toffees, fudges, brittles, and chocolates. From Ginger Chocolate Truffles to Orange-Almond Clusters to Miniature peanut Butter Cups, you’ll delight in this tempting collection of mouth-watering treats for the candy-lover in everyone.”
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. It's a collection of candy recipes which ranges from simple to more difficult, from chocolate to toffee to nut clusters. Some of the recipes are absolutely mouth-watering to read, and some are even relatively inexpensive. A few use corn syrup, which saddened me, but most stick to simple ingredients: sugar, liqueur, nuts, and chocolate.
9/16/2020: Raising this to 5 stars. I've used it a bunch and this book is just so damn solid.
I haven’t yet tried any of the recipes in here. I can see that I’ll have to keep a careful watch (& taste) in allowing for the differences in chocolate and cream between Britain and America.
Mr Hubig’s illustrations are charmingly reminiscent of the 1950s.
