Goodreads Review of Geronimo Stilton: Attack of the Bandid Cats

Will Squires Mosher

Geronimo is in trouble because his newspaper The Rodent's Gazette printed the phone book for New Mouse City, but none of the phone numbers were right! Everyone in the city blames Geronimo. They stand in front of The Rodent's Gazette chanting "We want Stilton!"

Thea and Trap help Geronimo leave New Mouse City in a hot air balloon. But the balloon gets cannon-balled by a ship captained by the Bandit Cat. The balloon crash lands on the ship. The cats are all bandits, and they want to eat Geronimo, Thea and Trap. Geronimo and his family members need to find a way to outthink the cats to escape.

What's neat about this book is that Geronimo does a good job thinking of a way to escape the bandid cats. The plot was also interesting because it makes you think the phone book problem will be the main issue, but it turns out not to be.

This book is called Attack of the Bandit Cats by Geronimo Stilton. The main character is Geronimo Stilton. The other characters are Thea and Trap. This story is about Geronimo and his cousins going on a trip to an island. On their way they got captured by cat pirates. They were held in the ship and they were going to be cooked. They later thought of a plan and they escaped. Later, they went back home. This story was okay because it had a good conflict and climax. This is my review for Attack of the Bandit Cats.

This was a really good fictional book written by Geronimo Stilton. One day when Geronimo woke up he woke up to yelling and screaming. This was because he had almost every number in the phone book wrong. So when Thea, Trap, and Benjamin asked me to join their quest, he agreed. What they didn't know was that they were going to run into a ship full of cats. To find out how they escape read this amazing book.

The story in overall is nice, but it needed more (details). It is a lovely story for kids for sure, yet the conflict required more complexity to make it an exciting one. It's a simple story, and probably it was written like that to encourage kids to read, which is good.
The illustrations are amazing, and they enhanced the events.
I'm still going to read more of Geronimo Stilton's adventures; I think there are much better adventures in the series.
For this adventure, the story needed more work to turn it into a book for all ages.
The chosen style to display the text is interesting; it is a new way to present a book, I like it, but you need a child's opinion on that.

The book starts off with a really bad mistake made by Geronimo and his company, they messed up the yellow pages so everyone’s number is mixed up! Since everyone wants him hurt or gone, Geronimo’s family decides to take him on a trip. Except, they end up on a cat ship and are getting ready to be eaten by the cats. While the cats are trying to fatten them up, Geronimo and his family make a plan on how they get off the ship. When they act through their plan and realize they don’t really have a full plan and only half of it, they decide they need to get the cats off the boat. Eventually, they do get home and are greeted with happiness and love from the same mice that wanted them gone because they bring some goodies.
Overall I did enjoy this book because of the action with the cats and learning a little bit about the history of New Mouse City.

This book was good. I wouldn't particularly recommend this one to others. However, the rest of the series are really well done. I flew by this book, but my mind wasn't all that focused into this one.

I get the appeal of these for the reluctant readers who need a gimmick to pull them in but these do not appeal to me in the least in regard to any kind of quality literature.

The book "Attack of the Bandit Cats" by Geronimo Stilton (Elisabetta Dami) is an exciting story filled with adventure and humor! The story follows the main character, Geronimo Stilton. He is a very timid and anxious mouse reporter who works for the Rodents Gazette. In this book, he is kidnapped by a crew of pirate cats, along with his sister, Thea, his cousin, Trap, and his nephew, Benjamin. They have to work together to escape the cat's ship! The author's fun style, colorful fonts, vibrant images, and funny wordplay keep readers entertained. The book is lighthearted and filled with suspense and comedy. I would highly recommend this book because it's engaging, fun, and suspenseful!

In the classroom, this book could be used in many different ways. One way in which it could be used is to strengthen student comprehension. A teacher could allow students to organize the events of the story to sequence Geronimo's adventure. They could also describe how Geronimo changes throughout the story, does he overcome his fears and become brave? The pirate aspect of the story could also be related to social studies topics, such as a discussion of real-life pirates. Or, the relationship between the cats and mcie could spark a science discussion about the food chain and animal relationships. A fun classroom activity could be to have students design their own pirate cat or mouse, and to write a short story about their adventures with Geronimo. The story also includes themes such as courage, teamwork, and problem-solving, which could spark conversations about how students handle similar challenges in their own lives.

How did Geronimo screw up so bad to end up on the Most Wanted list? It’s just a book full of phone numbers. I mean, sure, they’re all messed up, but come on that’s a little extreme. I’m starting to dislike Trap more and more the more I read about him. First of all he’s a misogynist and compulsive liar, and now he makes fun of people with glasses? SMH. Why does it say Geronimo is “shaking in his Mouse Jordan’s,” when in the cover and in the book illustrations it doesn’t show him wearing shoes? It’s interesting how they can only eat snails since they can’t find any mice. Did all the mice move to Mouse Island? Or did the cats hunt all the non-island mice to extinction? And are there other anthro animal people, like birds and rabbits and other prey for the cats? And are there other predators? I don’t think so, since it appears there’s only mice and cats, but it would be cool if there were other animals. I guess there are fish. Alright the cats aren’t that bright in the book (which is not true irl; cats are very intelligent). Why on earth would they put a plan of the ship in the prison cell? It’s like they’re asking for the mice to escape. Benjamin is just a plot device in this book. First the Swiss Army knife, and now a magnet? Why is Geronimo so upset about a fur rug potentially being mouse fur when he has a cat fur rug in his home? Anyways, it ended with them getting a bunch of treasure and them becoming rich, although everything will reset in the next novel so it doesn’t matter much. The end

Well, this was new! I was starting to wonder where the cats in Geronimo's world had gone.

In short, Geronimo's publishing company misprinted the Yellow Pages book, messing up the phone numbers of the businesses and mice of New Mouse City. To escape the mob that had formed outside of his office, Geronimo, Thea, Trap, and Benjamin set sail for an adventure. Unfortunately, for them, they are captured by a band of cat pirates, including the notorious Black Bandit!

Overall, a fun story, full of the usual quirks of the Geronimo Stilton series. I'll leave you with another one of Trap's songs.
For your information, my name is TRAP:
T as in Take that, you crazy cat!
R as in Run for your life!
A as in Attention, everyone: Here I come!
P as in Paws off if you want to live!
He really is charming and creative! Charming enough to charm even a pirate cat!

Can't go wrong with a Geronimo Stilton title. This one caught my eye in class, and I grabbed it on my way out the door. I really enjoyed the visual wordplay that is used in the book to highlight words like "big yellow handkerchief with red dots" and "nightmare." I also like the illustrations and how they make the book seem like a comic book with a picture on each page.

I think this book could be good for kids or a classroom because it hits on some important themes of good vs. evil and teamwork. It teaches children to have courage even when they might be scared. This book has a lot of visual storytelling and onomatopoeia that students can use to learn. The humor easily acts as a hook for children to become interested in the book. Overall I would recommend this book for children and the classroom.

The story is tailored for the young readers, it's curious funny. Geronimo Stilton is a mouse, he is a muddler who always gets into trouble, such as in this case, he finds himself with his friends inside a galleon full of pirate cats, the most terrible, how will they escape?
I read the book which is rich of illustrations, colors, and with the perfect graphic for the little ones, and also the audio book.
In my opinion the audio book is the best because the child can develop his/her fantasy listening to the voices of the main characters and the background noises, such as the water, the closing of a door, and the voice of the pirate cats and so on.

Originally Il galeone dei gatti pirati, translated into English as Attack of the Bandit Cats, this is the eighth (or, in Dutch, third) of a series of many books about the gallant mouse hero Geronimo Stilton, who in this case is forced into exile after an embarrassing accident with phone directories and must evade death at the hands of pirate cats who want to invade Mouse Island and eat the inhabitants.

Not bad story-wise. We see a return of the cat species in the guise of some dastardly pirates. We also see Benjamin being the smartest Stilton again.

Now, I know this is a children's book, but it's got an underlying racist tone.
The mice are horrible when it comes to the cats (although they are threatening to eat them), even though they've met some nice cats before.
Geronimo also gets affronted over what might be a mice fur carpet, but I swear I read a previous book where the mice had cat fur carpets. What's good for them isn't for other species apparently.

These books are recommended for ages 7-9 but it really depends on reading (or receptive language) levels. Mr 5 is reading these himself, LOVING them, and recommended to us. They're great for the mix of colour pictures, maps, speech bubbles, coloured / funny fonts to make words stand out. I think Miss 3 will love these in a year or so; right now she was grumpy with me that there wasn't another Captain Underpants book ready for her at the library!

Geronimo Stilton makes a printing error in the Yellow Pages. All of New Mouse City is angry with him about the error as it is driving them out of business. He decides to go on an adventure to escape the angry mob. He comes across a Pirate ship full of cat pirates and has to overcome them in order to get back 🏠.

Lincoln liked that Geronimo Stilton came across 🐈 pirates that attacked him and his family.

4 Geronimo goes on a pirate adventure and some crazniess happens

Geronimo's day starts with problem after problem; firstly, the phone books that were printed have wrong numbers for various establishments and businesses, a mob is forming outside the Rodent Gazette, and his adventure-crazy cousin wants to go find the island of silver. On a whim he decides that he wants to get away from the crazy mob that is trying to hurt him and goes on this crazy adventure even though he is really not fond of traveling. Everything seems to be going smoothly, until they were shot down by a cat pirate ship. Now captured and waiting to be made into rat stew, Geronimo and his family must figure out a way to escape and make it back to New Mouse Island. Will they survive?

This was my first time reading this book in the series and honestly it was really different and I really liked learning about the history between mice and cats. The story explains the history on the war that these two sworn enemies have fought for thousands of years. The author also showed the various treasures that were taken by the pirate cats that will be returned to New Mouse City. It was really funny story and I liked how it showed that family is really important and whenever you are in danger that family will be there no matter what. I also think that these specific cats will be back because the author hinted that this is not the last we see them!

This book was okay. The plot was very predicable, however and there was no plot twist. The resolution came much too soon and there really was no darkest moment for the characters. As soon as they were captured, they came up with a plan to escape and the plan worked out perfectly.
I enjoyed the characters and I mean, it was interesting, but I wish more happened.

Captured by cats! Its every rodent’s worst nightmare. It all started when my cousin Trap convinced me to join covered in silver. We set out by hot-hair balloon. But before you could say” hot cheese on toast,” we were attacked by a ship of pirate cats! They mouse-napped us and threatened to cook us lives…or end up in soup?

the main events are when geronimo made a plan to escape the cat's metal ship and they set little fires to the ship to get rid of the cats to get the ship hot. I would give the book five stares it is a good book to read if you need book reports done.

this book is good. Its not my favorite in the series though. Geronimo is about to lose his job and to make things worse, Geronimo has been kidnaped from pirate cats. That's bad. will Geronimo escape out alive?
