Whiskey Men #4

Forever Mine

Rate this book
A billionaire married man that guards his heart.
A wife with one foot out the door.
Together, in a second chance romance.

I’m completely in love with my husband. And he takes care of my needs...
as long as they’re financial or physical. Anything more is too much to ask.

I know that while I might have his name, I don’t have his heart.
It’s almost like he keeps me in a very specific WIFE.
He only opens that box when we’re home alone, anything else would make me too much a part of his life.

Even though I love him, I can’t live like this anymore.
I don’t want to, but I ask him for a divorce.

Instead of agreeing to the separation, he tries to convince me to stay. I want nothing more than to be his wife in every way possible, but I won’t settle for anything less than his whole heart.

The real question is, can he truly love me the way I need him to or is it time for me to walk away?

USA Today bestselling author Hope Ford brings you a standalone fourth book in the Whiskey Men series. If you love reading billionaire, age gap, second chance, and small-town romance, then you’ll love Beau and Natalie’s story.

Apologies but this isn't working for me.
The premise is ridiculous. Although the blurb seemed promising.
They have been married 2 years, she adores him and he hasn't included her in any family events, they basically only have sex.
He loves her too but has been abandoned by the women in his life previously.
So basically they love each other in the bedroom but how can they really know each other, in actual life.
She put up with this for 2 years? His family didnt call him out on his behaviour?

Silly woman

She broke up with him because he was too reserved and she didn't believe he loved her. At first I thought she was an idiot for not realizing how much he loved her. She annoyed me too. But then when everything started coming out, him not inviting her to family events, wearing protection even though she was on birth control, if no ring her except in bed, I understood. He was cold and he always thought she'd leave him because his Mother left him, etc etc etc. Such a moron! Lol. I mean come on she totally loved you always. It was just nuts. And even though they were in a state of confusion they still had major marriage activities. All the time. It was crazy. It all works out of course and the book held my attention for sure. I like marriage in peril books. Only when there's no cheating and this was safe. Ending was good and it was a quick read.

DNF @ 55%

I really struggled getting invested in this one. I do enjoy a marriage in trouble situation, but I couldn’t relate to this one at all.

The book opens with Natalie deciding to ask for a divorce. The two (Natalie & Beau) have been married for two years (I think) but he’s kept her at a distance and only showed any affection at night. He’s a billionaire and they had a lavish wedding… and he evidently courted her… but he doesn’t include her in anything outside of their home. She’s not invited to family dinners, holidays, weddings, etc.

It was just too out there for me. How would the town not know they’re married if they had a huge glamorous wedding? How does she not know his family? Hell, even one part says they only ended up at the same friend’s wedding (cuz he didn’t invite her) was because she was friends with the bride, and she invited her… that’s weird and totally illogical.

“Natalie and I have been married for two years. In those two years, I’ve never invited her to a family function. Heck, I didn’t even ask her to all the dinners or fundraisers we do with Blaze. I didn’t invite her to Lucas and Issi’s wedding, but she was friends with Issi and went on her own.”

Bottom Line- A miss for me. It made no sense that he loved her so much but excluded her so much. It made no sense that the small town they lived in didn’t know what was going on. It made no sense that she never called him on his shit earlier. And it made zero sense that after desperately wanting more for TWO YEARS that she’d shut down and be done (not open to trying) when she learns he wants to make things work. I’m not feeling anything and am bored.

Just for once, for fucking once, I’d like to read a book about a woman who has a fucking backbone!

This man kept his own wife seperate from his life, to the point where people IN THEIR SMALL TOWN, did not know they were married. That’s how fucking bad he was but ya know what? 8 chapters in and she’s already agreeing to work shit out with him. That is not fucking realistic.

She must not be that fucking hurt by her husband keeping her as a fucking secret for the past two years.

Fuck Jilly because if I want my best friend to help me through my divorce, I’d hope she’s on my side not his. You can paint it in any way you want, she was on his side. So yeah, fuck her for not being a true fucking friend.

I’m not finishing this shit.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK or decent reads
==========================
Two years married and he never invited her to parties and family dinners or events he attended. He treated her and their marriage like a dirty secret. People didn't even know he was married.
I didn't like him and although I understand his issues, it doesn't justify his behavior.
She should have kicked his ass much sooner and moved on.
I was unsure between 2 stars (meh) and 3 stars, but as I finished reading, I was generous.

The couple: Beau and Natalie

Romance trope: marriage in trouble
Series: Whiskey Men
Length: 250 pages

Plot: Beau and Natalie have been married for a few years but he's never truly let her into his life, and she's had it. It's time for a divorce so she can begin to move on and live her life. Beau won't let her go without a fight though.

Commentary: Pretty unbelievable - which is something I normally don't mind, but in this case, it was a little too much. I can see them getting married quickly without knowing each other and their true feelings, but he never invited her or let her come to family events? None of them over three years? And she didn't say anything, demand to go to parties, games, dinners? Nobody in his family popped by to invite her somewhere or called her or texted her? What is wrong with these people? The idea that he thought she would leave so he treated her badly (except for sex, of course) was so ridiculous. The only reason I didn't dock a star is that the grovel was okay (although it was essentially him acting like a husband should, finally).

Previous book in the series: Coming Home
Next book in the series: Always Yours

Not Bad 3.5 Stars

Safety and Spoilers

This story wasn’t bad. I just wish the h made the H work harder for redemption. They should have definitely gone into therapy. You just don’t change overnight.

H used to be a bit of a player in his younger days, used women for his own pleasure. Nothing about recent years. Nothing about h’s past.
No physical abuse. The H kept the h at a distance emotionally. He lived a separate life from her and didn’t include her in anything, like family gatherings.
No cheating. h had a man that liked her at her business and he would flirt with her. She wasn’t interested in him but felt it was nice to feel wanted and beautiful. This made H jealous and angry at himself for his behaviour.
There was ow at nephews soccer game that hit on H. The h was angry about it, especially since the H seemed to agree to a playdate with her and her son. Ow was a leech and H wasn’t interested in her at all.

This book is a quick read and since I've read the entire series so far it's nice to find out what's going on in Whiskey Run.

BUT this was all a little too fast: mind changes, overcoming childhood trauma, changing behaviour, forgiveness, ... all very sudden. For me personally, it needed more deeepth and more slow burn energy.

Also, I'm all for a plus size heroine (she feels more midsize but it is never clearly stated so maybe we are supposed to imagine whatever fits best for us🤷‍♀️) but if she is plus size and you speak of certain problems/ insecurities/prejudices whatever, make it count or just let her be plus size and don't talk about insecurities. It was sprinkled in there from time to time but never really a topic - it felt lukewarm.

Overall the book entertained me.

I'm a sucker for a series so obviously I'm coming back for Austin and Ally although I'm not a fan of friends to lovers.

Awwww!!

This story was about a married couple who was struggling to fully communicate and it’s the threat of her walking away that makes him wake up and see what his life would be like without her in it. He finally lets his guard all the way down they worked things out and became the couple they should always have been ❤️❤️❤️

So many heartstrings being pulled and repaired in this story ❤️❤️

Beau and Natalie are married, but only behind closed doors Natalie feels loved by her husband and tries to relish in the few minutes she feel close to him. Outside of their bedroom he treats her more as a roommate, she even feels like a nuisance. Also she really loves him and it breaks her heart, she asks for a divorce, this emotional distance between them she can not take anymore. He gives her everything materialistic, but that is not what she wants and needs. He made the experience that all women he loved left him, so he made sure to keep her at arm’s length, also he does really love her. When his brother Huddy helps him to see his mistakes, he is not ready to give up. Seeing his changing bevior and with the right questions from her closest friend Jilly, she finally agrees to try for 30 days. Is it too late, or will they finally open up and have the love, life and marriage both crave?
Reding the first chapters the unintentionally hurt and the request for a divorce, while still loving the other person made me shed tears. Luckily they both had persons in their life, nudging them to listen to their hearts and Beau only now understands what his actions and standoffishness have done no Nat. When somehow courting her for the 30 days, it seems like they grow even closer and open up, that they come out stronger than before. It shows, that going through a crisis with love and respect, can be a big chance. This story is written so well, love her stories. The character development is really amazing and touches my heart. Already looking forward for Austin and Ally’s story.

Natalie (h) yearns for her husband Beau's (H) heart rather than just his financial and physical support. Behind closed doors, there are glimpses of the love they share, but in the outside world, Beau keeps Natalie at arm's length, treating her more like a roommate than a wife. When Natalie reaches her breaking point and requests a divorce, it sets off a series of events that challenge their relationship's foundation. Natalie struggles with her deep love for Beau and her need for emotional fulfillment. Beau's realization of his mistakes is a turning point that leads him to fight to win back Natalie's heart. Lovely second chance, age gap romance.

This was cute, but the MMC just pissed me off, all of his stupid reasonings and everything he did which created distance between him and the FMC, was NOT understandable. 🙄 I'm glad he got his head straight when she threatened with divorce. ✋️

This entire book could have been avoided if this married couple had had a single conversation about their needs/wants/etc in a relationship. Like how did they even decide to get married while knowing so little about each other?

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a little longer than I like to read, but I really enjoyed it.

Beau and Natalie have been married for two years, when she goes lets him know she wants a divorce. Natalie wakes up and Beau is in bed with her, if she doesn't move he won't get up and get ready for work. Instead Natalie pleasures Beau, then they make love. Beau gets ready for work and leaves. Later that night Beau is in his office, he's the CFO of Blaze Whiskey he's always working. Natalie sends him a message telling him she wants a divorce. Beau leaves his office to find Natalie, he tells her he wants to talk about it. Beau asks Natalie what she wants and when she asks him if he's surprised he tells her no he's not. Natalie tells Beau she only wants to keep her gym she'll find a place to live. Beau tells her she's keeping her car and he'll live in the pool house she can live in the house. Natalie doesn't want to stay in there house but Beau insist until she finds something else. When Natalie doesn't show up for work at her gym her best friend calls her to find out what happened. Beau calls his brother Huddy Coming Home to come over so that he can talk to him. Huddy makes Beau open up about what's going on with him and Natalie. Beau tells Huddy that in the two years since he's been married to Natalie he's never invited her to any family functions, she insisted on going to his granny's funeral. Beau tells Huddy that he knows what woman are capable of, he was there when his mom left, his ex-fiancée left him, Ford's wife left him, he doesn't want Natalie to get close to his family and then leave like she's about to do. Huddy tells Beau he's dumb and wants to know if he loves Natalie. Huddy points out that Beau not taking Natalie to family functions makes it look like he's ashamed of her. Huddy makes Beau look at the bigger picture, their father remarried and is happy now. Huddy tells Beau he needs to man up and fix his marriage. Natalie gets a text from Beau asking her to have dinner with him so that they can talk. When Beau arrives he brings all of Natalie's favorites. Natalie asks Beau what he wants to talk about and he tells her the divorce she asked him for last night. Beau tells Natalie that he doesn't want a divorce, he doesn't want to let her go. Beau asks Natalie if there is someone else and she tells him she would never cheat on him. Natalie tells Beau that there is a man who comes into the gym who flirts with her, and finds her attractive. Beau wants to know who the man is but Natalie doesn't want to tell him. Beau tells Natalie she is attractive, but she asks him why he only touches her when they are in the bedroom. Beau asks her to do him a favor and give him thirty day, he's taking a month off work. Natalie asks him what he's going to do in the month he has off, Beau tells her he's going to take her to Ollie's soccer games, and take her to family dinners, he has a fundraiser coming up and he wants her to go with him. Natalie tells him she doesn't know, and for the last two years he's treated her like a little secret so she not going to jump at whatever game this is. Beau tells her he's not playing any games, instead he asks her to take it day by day. Natalie tells him no sex and she'll take this day by day. Beau shows up at Natalie's gym the next day, when she asks him what he's doing he tells her he's there to work out. When Natalie walks away to get cleaned up Beau checks out a few of the guys that are at her gym trying to figure out who is flirting with her. When Natalie comes back out and walks over to Beau he knows who the guy is. Beau asks Natalie if it's the guy and she can't believe him. Natalie tells Beau to leave, and walks away. Beau follows Natalie into her office, he tells her he shouldn't have done that. Beau tells Natalie that he didn't come here because of some guy he came her for her. Beau tells Natalie coming here wasn't to stake his claim him coming was to show her he no longer takes her for granted. When Beau runs his hands down her Natalie tells him they agreed no sex. Beau tells Natalie he doesn't want to have sex he wants to pleasure her so he does. Beau asks Natalie to have dinner with him tonight, but she tells him she has book club. Natalie mets with her book club, and she tells her friends she asked Beau for a divorce. Natalie's friends asks her if she loves Beau and she tells him she does, so they asks her why does she want a divorce. Natalie tells them because they live separate lives, Beau's emotionally cut off, and he only touches her behind closed doors. Her friends asks Natalie why Beau does all those things, she tells them because he's embarrassed of her. Her friends tell her that's not it, Natalie asks them what else could it be. Her friends tell her that she should asks Beau why, they know Beau loves her. Her friends tells her that she needs to communicate with Beau and tell him how she feels. Natalie lets Beau know she'll give him thirty days, and Beau thanks her. Beau asks Natalie to go with him to lunch, she replies that it's not lunch time yet. Natalie agrees to met Beau at Sugar Glaze Bakery. Beau doesn't wait he heads into Natalie's gym to pick her up and walk with her. Beau asks Natalie after they eat if she wants to go to the book fair, she tells him she'd love to but its mostly romance. Natalie tells him she knows that wouldn't interest him, but Beau tells her that she does and he'll go with her. While Beau is picking up their order he sees a man flirting with Natalie, when he gets back to the table he asks her if it's always like this men hitting on her. Beau tells her he should have paid better attention all this time he didn't treat her right. When Natalie sees what Beau order she tells him she can't eat all that, he tells her he loves her body. Beau tells her he loves everything about her, and needs to start telling her that more. Beau tells her he loves her and she can't believe he's telling her this he hasn't said it in a long time. While standing and looking at books Natalie doesn't see the books in front of her, her mind is wondering to when Beau told her he loved her. Beau comes up next to her and Natalie pulls a book out, Beau asks her what the book is about and she tells him. Beau asks Natalie if what's in the book is something she'd like to do and she tells him she's already read it and yes she's fantasied about. Beau tucked the book under his arm and Natalie asks him what he's doing. Beau tells Natalie that he's going to read the book, so that they can act it out. When Beau checks out he's asked if he wants a bag but he tells them no, he'll carry it, Natalie thinks it's funny he's walking around with a romance book. Natalie suggests that Beau moved back into the house but he tells her there no way he can lay next to her and not have her. Natalie tells him it's what she telling him she wants to lay next to him in their bed. Beau asks Natalie if she's teaching anymore classes when she tells him no Beau bend over and picks her up. Beau carries Natalie to his truck, she tells him to put her down because she's to heavy. That's when Beau smacks her on her bottom, he tells her she's not to heavy and he doesn't want her talking about herself like that. When Beau gets Natalie home, he tells her to take off her clothes in the living room. Natalie tells him she needs to go to the bedroom. Beau tells her he wants to make love to her in their living room on their couch. Beau tells Natalie to undress, when he doesn't she tells him he needs to be naked also. Beau tells her she needs to wait because if he takes off his clothes he's going to come. Beau tells Natalie to lay in his lap then he smacks her bottom telling her it's for thinking she's to heavy, when she's perfect the way she is. When Beau smack her bottom he knows it's turning Natalie on. Beau tells Natalie she's not leaving him without a fight, she's his and he can't let her go. Natalie tells Beau he has to many clothes on, then she takes off his clothes for him. Beau pleasures Natalie then they make love. Beau tells her he loves her and Natalie tells him she loves him. When Natalie goes to leave Beau asks her where she's going, she tells him to clean up. Beau tells her he's coming with her to save water they can shower together. While in the shower Beau knows something is wrong, he asks Natalie but she doesn't want to look at him. Beau tells her to talk to him, Natalie tells him they didn't use a condom. Beau tells Natalie that he's never using one again. Natalie tells him for two years he's always worn one since he doesn't want kids. Beau tells Natalie he never said he didn't want kids, he didn't think the timing was right he wasn't sure. Natalie tells Beau that as soon as they were together she's wanted to have his baby. Natalie asks him what does he mean he wasn't sure about her. Beau tells her about his past and the woman who have left, he knew one day she would leave. Beau tells her that he couldn't bring a baby into this world only to have her abandoned it. Natalie is shocked that he would think that of her, Beau tells her he knows it's messed up. Natalie asks Beau if this is why his guard is always up and he never invites her to family functions. Beau tells Natalie about this mom leaving, then his ex-fiancée leaving. Natalie tells Beau she loves hi and she's all in, but now she finds out he was expecting her to leave. Beau explains to Natalie that he thought she would leave but if he kept his distance she'd stay. Beau tells Natalie he was stupid and now realizes it he can't lose her. Three days later when Beau goes to Natalie's gym she tells her he and his brother's have a favor they need to ask her. Beau and is brother's are helping with a fundraiser but the entertainment and catering back out last minute. Beau asks Natalie if she can help pull something together. Natalie gets busy calling on the phone and is able to get Sugar Bakery and Red's diner to donate. Then Natalie calls around and gets entertained all booked. Natalie tells him she'll just make sure everything is alright. Beau tells her than he'll go with her, Natalie goes with him to be with his family. When everyone is seated Ford Something Real does the introductions. When it's Beau's turn to present the check he thanks Natalie for all her help. Beau makes sure he keeps his eyes on Natalie the whole time he is talking. When Beau gets back to his seat Natalie tells him that she wants him to move back into the house, and he tells her yes he will. Beau and Natalie make love all nigh long. Beau asks Natalie how many children she wants to have and she tells him two. Beau tells her he would like to have at least four maybe even six. Natalie tells Beau that she was invited to Ollie's soccer game and she'd like to go and they decide to go together. One book club night the girls head out of town, Natalie isn't sure where they're going. Finally they tells Natalie they're going to Jasper and the hotels restaurant. Natalie knows it's a very expensive hotel. Natalie tells them she needs to tell Beau where she's going. When Natalie calls Beau he tells her it's fine. While at the restaurant the girls tell her that there's a man checking her out. Natalie tells them she's fine. The girls tell her she has to look, when Natalie looks she finds Beau walking towards her. Beau is trying to act out the scene in the book. Beau takes one look at Natalie and can't, he needs to have her. Natalie realizes what Beau is doing and plays along. When they get to their hotel room, Beau pleasure Natalie and then they make love. Natalie finds out Beau paid for the girls dinner and their hotel rooms, just to play out her fantasy. Natalie shows up for Ollie's soccer game but she's late. Beau is already there, and is waiting on her. When Beau knows Natalie is there, he comes and tells her he saved her a seat. Natalie is the loudest to cheer for Ollie when she finds out he's the goalie. When a women leans over Natalie to thank Beau for the playdate with her son and Ollie she finds out that he went to dinner with his woman. The woman asks Beau if they can play another playdate with her son. Natalie removes Beau's hand off of her and tells him they'll talk later. Natalie tells the woman she came to watch her nephew play soccer, the woman smirks at Natalie. Natalie forces her attention on Ollie and the soccer game. When the soccer game is over they all meet up, Ollie asks Natalie if she's coming to get pizza with them. Natalie tells Ollie she wouldn't miss it, Beau and her take Ollie in their car. Natalie play's music loud for Ollie while Beau drives. When Beau finds out there's a problem at the office he steps aside and is texting. Natalie tells Beau that he should just go and take care of it. Beau tells her no he wants to be with his family. When they get to the pizza place Beau orders Natalie a pizza for herself when he finds out what she likes on it. Ollie asks Natalie if she'll play some games with him and she tells him she'd love to. Beau grabs some game cards for both Ollie and Natalie. While Beau is talking to his brother's one of Ollie's friends comes to tell him there's something wrong with Natalie. When Beau finds her she's huddled up and Ollie is rubbing her arm. Beau knows that Natalie is having a migraine, he picks her up and reassures Ollie that Natalie will be alright. Beau takes Natalie home and puts her into bed, he grabs her medicine and a glass of water. Beau climbs into bed next to Natalie and holds her while she falls asleep. Beau calls his brother Ford to let him know to tell Ollie that Natalie is alright. Natalie tells Beau that she would like Beau not to spend time with other woman she knows what they want. Too simple?

I know Hope writes simple, feel good romances. But is there such a thing as too simple? Nat has been in what she thinks is a loveless marriage for two years. Beau is clueless as to how much he’s hurt her. Once he realizes his mistake, he changes overnight, finally offering his love without reservations. It takes only days for Nat to forgive him and jump in with both feet. Sorry, but that just doesn’t do it for me.

I realize this is a fantasy, not reflective of real life, but I find it hard to understand that so much hurt can be overcome so quickly. But again, it’s fantasy and very feel good. If you don’t mind the particulars and are looking for a lovely HEA, this is the book for you.

I wanted to like it.

I really really did.

But I didn't.

And it kinda pissed me off.

So I DNFed in the middle.

It wasn't the worst from Ford, true.

But.

Guys, i dunno what happened to this author but is she like obsessed with making all her heroines fat and praising fat positivity?

Because every fucking book is the same shit all over again.

And i know i'll get lots of hate for saying this, but i am fed up with this bullshit.

I don't like it, i don't support it and i don't want it in my reads PERIOD.

I don't mind heroines with curves but this is simply taking a step too far.

It's every fucking book and all the fat positivity mantras every other page.

And Miss Ford seems to have forgotten that not all women are fat, there are in fact skinny ones, there are sporty girls, there are tall and short ones, some may be on the slender side, some are on the chubby one, and some girls have just normal healthy weight and size.

And pushing any social/ political agendas in your books is just NOT okay.
We are surrounded by this BS everywhere so my romance landia should be free of this crap.

About the story?

Well, it did have a potential to be a decent read but there were some things that were stupid, annoying and sometimes mind-boggling for me.

Fore example:

1. They've been married for 2 years and dated some before.

And the hero thought it's a perfectly great plan to completely eliminate his wife from his life to the point that she barely knows his family and is never invited to family events etc etc and some of his friends don't even know he has a wife??

Oh, and the hero is apparently madly in love with her.

Are you fucking kidding me here? Does that even make any sense to you?

Because it sure as hell didn't to me.

2. The weak pathetic heroine who was also obsessively in love with the hero and yet the fact that she agreed to marry him and be treated like a dirty little secret was simply beyond my comprehending.

Like, bitch, could you be more pathetic?

Come, the fuck on!!

True, she did leave his sorry ass but she also took him back 5 seconds later.

3. The heroine's friends are acting like a group of horny teenage girls who just discovered their tits and noticed that guys like them.

And so their conversations were only about one thing only: the bedroom gymnastics and how horny they are, their husbands are etc etc.

And my ears started bleeding after a while of listening to them. (i had the audio).

4. Last but not least, it lacked depth and meaning.

It was all very superficial and simply boring.

What's worse, the h and H seemed to act like a couple of blind kids wandering in dark woods when it comes to marriage and what it should be based on and so they decided that lust is as good as anything else. *enter multiple eyerolls

I did like the idea for this book but the sudden 180 change in hero was a mystery to me, the heroine was still a pathetic, needy mess with no backbone, the friends were superficial idiots and it all was simply not worth my time.

However, it was all tolerable (like i said, i've read way worse than this) and I would've probably even finished if the fat acceptance hadn't made its appearance and killed this book for me.

So 1 star it is and I will srsly think twice or thrice before i even think of reading something from Ford again.

If you want a great marriage in trouble romance, read sth from Natasha Anders or if you want sth dark, go for Brutal Husband - I absolutely loved this one.

The Unwanted Wife was also really good.

This? Was not.

Don't waste your money. Read for free.
Seriously authors like this don't deserve your money especially in this economy. It's 2023 stop writing poor excuses to justify terrible behavior by men.
The grovel was terrible and non-existent. Spouses who are wronged and abandoned deserve actions that show accountability and true remorse. It really sucks that even in fiction authors like Hope Ford justify shitty behavior with lame ass apologies and insincere behavior. Women can't even get a genuine heartfelt apology or remorse even in stories.

Plenty of men hate women but love to have sex with female anatomy. This author clearly has some internalized misogyny to work on since the only thing this hero loves is his "wife's" pussy. This hero treats his wife so badly it borders on emotional abuse & spousal abandonment. No dinners, no birthdays, no family parties, no intimacy, absolutely no acknowledgement in public FOR YEARS.
He pumps into her, finishes, takes of the condom and the either goes to sleep or off to work. No aftercare, no even acknowledgement that the person he just finished fucking is in fact a living breathing human with feelings. He literally just rolls off of her after he finishes and then proceeds to ignore her. He treats her like a fuck-hole. HOW IS THIS A MARRIAGE WORTH SAVING?

Ford writes a hero who hides his wife from the public, doesn't introduce her to his family, doesn't show her any affection or intimacy but loves to fuck her. It's 2023 women deserve better that to be a willing hole for men to just enjoy sticking their dick into.

She's basically his roommate and to add insult to injury his trivialization of her feelings is so fucking hurtful, I wonder if Hope Ford is just a conservative woman that writes this type of propaganda to try to send a message to women that they deserve disrespectful men.
He hates his wife so much he only has sex with her but otherwise they are strangers. He hides her away, doesn't introduce her to his family, and people in town have no idea he's even married. Sounds like a covert cheater if you ask me.

Doormat heroine, YEARS and she doesn't once demand that she be invited to family events. How can Natalie even say that her love for Beau runs deep? He's a stranger that fucks you when he's home. There is absolutely no romance or connection just fucking. I seriously wonder who these people are based on. Are there really women who just accept this from their spouses?

Also it 2023 stop rationalizing and excusing men who intentionally hurt and emotionally abuse their spouses and partners because "they have trauma". The heroine isn't the one who abandoned him so why is she the one that bears the brunt of the emotional abuse and spousal abandonment in this story. You want to write a hero?
Write one that actually takes accountability for his actions. Who understands how disgusting his behavior is. One that doesn't treat the heroine like a whore to hide in a love nest or his favorite toy to take off the shelf when he's lonely and horny.

He only pulls his head out of his ass when he realizes he's going to be left by his wife and doesn't want anyone else to have her.
He treats her like a toy only he's allowed to play with and the thought of anyone else having a chance is unacceptable to him. That's not love. THAT'S CONTROL.

Just as important, why do write such disrespectful heroes for plus-sized heroines? What messaging are you trying to send exactly?

Beau Blaze is one of five brothers who own, Blaze Whiskey, in Whiskey Run. They met when Beau walked into the diner where, Natalie was working in the town, of Jasper. Natalie knew when she saw, Beau he was everything, and she knew he was, someone special. He would go in every day and flirt, with her and leave a huge tip. It was to the point, where she was looking forward, to him going in every night. Sure there was a gap in their age, she thought it was innocent enough. Until, he asked her out, and only then did she begin, to hope that there could be something more.

He was never stingy, he had no problem showering, Natalie with gifts, but she did find it overwhelming. She came from a background of very little means, so financial matters made her nervous. The idea of him spending his money, on her was uncomfortable, but she did enjoy it. She did, however, tell him he didn’t need to, but of course, he still did. The only thing he would not let loose of is his heart, he was always guarded with his heart. And now, after two years of marriage, nothing has changed. While they are in bed he is a passionate lover, but the minute he has completed the act he hops up and removes protection, showers, and either goes to sleep or work. Cuddling is not part of his makeup, as she sees and feels it.

A couple of years have passed and she remembers questioning herself wondering if Beau could indeed be in love with her. But, she was so in love with him. So she, of course, said yes. Now, two years have passed, and she is reflecting. She knows Beau cares for her, but when she asks herself, does he love me? Right away the answer is, no. What's even more disturbing, he doesn’t need her either. Which hurts her heart. They are more and more, living separate lives.

To this day, he has never asked her to any of the family's fundraiser events of which, there are many. He has never invited, Natalie to go, to any of the family dinners he goes to, or his nephew's soccer games. So, after a night of passion, and waking up in his arms, Natalie dreads moving because the intimate bubble will pop. So, she opts for foreplay, and he can’t refuse, but when they go to move on, he still wraps up as he has, for all two years. Telling her to take her final pleasure from him, but what, Natalie had planned must continue. He is not good for her or her emotions, he is emotionally unavailable to her and a divorce is what’s best for them both.

This was such an interesting book. The simple act of communication could have nipped the situation in the rear, had Beau been open and honest with, Natalie from the very beginning. However, Natalie could have avoided so much heartache had, she too just communicated with, Beau. It's a good thing the brothers due to their backgrounds are close and can read each other. Not to mention that they will not let things just fester. So, once she asks for the divorce they get to the root of why with Beau. Yup, a good book.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Not because of the tropes and stories, because it was exactly what I was looking for, and what was scratching the edge at the time, but the fact of the timing of the whole story. It happens in quite quick succession. Usually I don’t like sexual contact to happen so early on, but it worked in this one because this was a marriage in trouble, and there was already that built in history that I could feel between them so it didn’t feel rushed or unwarranted.

There was even a good amount of angst that I felt even in the first chapter as Natalie was set to ask Beau for a divorce due to her feeling that he didn’t love her because he didn’t show any type of affection or intimacy outside the bedroom. The tension was really thick and got even thicker once she did ask for that. It made the story really intense after that.

It was just this great ride of Beau trying to prove his love for her by showing her that he did in fact, love her. He finally was showing her affection outside the bedroom. He spent time with her. He finally allowed her to get close to him, which was his fear all along. He did some great wooing along the way.

I loved seeing them build up their relationship again and deepen their connection. It kept on growing throughout the story. I could really feel their love for each other come through. It was sweet and lovely, but intense too.

They had some pretty good sexy times going on too. The fantasy night in the hotel was steamy. Other scenes between them were scorching. The chemistry between them was real and felt on every level. Their passion soared even more as they became more emotionally intimate, and I loved that.

It just gave me all the feels that I was looking for. I was easily hooked from chapter one. It was very easy to read and got through it pretty quickly. I had a great time reading it and want to read the rest of the books in the series now.

No resolvieron nada, no había química y claramente no estaban enamorados.

Good

Beau Blaze met and fell in love instantly with Natalie (Nat) how ever he has some issues that makes him a not so good husband . Nat loved him from the start and was all in.
They have been married for 2 years , and Beau has always kept her away from his family and his major life . he loves her but he is emotionally unavailable to her .
Nat loves Beau and she lacks for nothing except for the family she wanted and kids of her own . finally she has had enough and asks for a divorce. Beau is not surprised but he is devastated.
After talking to one of his brothers who set him straight about how he was treating Nat he asked her for 30 days to prove that he loves her and wants to be with her and be all in .
She says yes . there are some major truths that come out that makes her wonder if they can save there marriage at all. (No cheating) for every step forward they take 4 back .
I'm not going to give any spoilers away because it is a very good book, but throughout the book Beau would think to himself how ridiculous his actions were , they were NOT ridiculous they were cruel and heart breaking for Nat .
They do work through everything and they get their HEA but I was upset that Nat just sort of let everything that he had done over 2 years go .
Yes he had a distorted view for what he was doing but there was no groveling and all he really did was start treating her like a husband should treat a wife they love . she should have made him grovel more and it should have been harder for him and not so easy to get back into her good graces and her life

After I finished Hudson’s story in Coming Home, I was curious and really intrigued to read Beau’s story. When I read the epilogue in book 3 I had so many different suspicions about why Natalie wanted a divorce, but I was surprised when I found out why.
Forever Mine was everything I expected, wanted more. Beau’s world is suddenly changed when his wife of 2 years asks for a divorce. He’s been expecting it, but it’s the last thing he wants. For their entire marriage he’s kept her separate from his life- his family, work events, everything. He never asked her to his brothers wedding, or to family dinners, and in public he shows no affection. He’s given her everything he thinks she wants, except he doesn’t realize that she just wants him, not the material things. Natalie feels he doesn’t love her or need her and can’t do it anymore and tells him she wants a divorce. It’s that moment that Beau realizes how badly he screwed up, and has him realizing what he’s about to lose and now he’s willing to do everything he can to prove what she means to him. She agrees to give him one month to prove himself.
I loved this book so much, it was one of the best books I’ve read where the guy truly grovels for forgiveness. Beau spent all that time guarding his heart, and afraid to let anyone in because of his fears, that he came so close to losing everything. This was one couple I was rooting for and was so happy for them in the end.
Next up is Austin’s story and I’m so ready for it!
