The Stonewall Attack

Rate this book
A completely revised 2nd edition of this classic guide to the Stonewall attack, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries but fallen out of favor. Fully understood, it is an excellent attacking strategy, sure to surprise your opponents and very succesful against the unprepared.

Still like to play this opening and this book has helped me to better understand the various positions and move orders, and move orders are the key to playing the Stonewall: you can't just set up the wall, you have to be willing to mix it up based on how black is setting up. Soltis does a great job explaining the strategy and the tactics of this opening. Doesn't go terribly deep, however, so this is really only useful for the first ten moves or so.
