A Nanny for Nate by Lisa Worrall
A year after his husband is killed in a hit and run, the only thing keeping Parker Adams going is his work and their son, Nate. When his regular child minder moves away, he hires a live in nanny to give Nate more stability. Due to a mix up with the envelopes, it isn't the petite Melanie that turns up on his doorstep. Opening the door and finding six feet six of Jake Walsh on the stoop fills Parker with panic. Not that Jake wasn't perfect for the job; he was. A little too perfect, with his dark brown eyes and easy going nature. Which is why Parker had purposely decided to give the job to the other candidate. In the half an hour of his interview, Jake Walsh had awoken feelings in Parker that he had thought were gone forever. How was he going to cope with the man under his roof twenty-four-seven?

Well, if you're into those hokey Hallmark romances, this might get your chicken kickin'. It did very little for me except make me roll my eyes a few times. Which, admittedly, isn't all that difficult, but still.
The emotions never really rang true for me. Parker is kind of a tool, and his abrupt change of heart at the end is...well, abrupt. Like, unbelievably so. Jake is the "cool dude" manny who swoops in and changes their sad little lives for the better. And Nate is the gag-me-cute precocious 7-year-old who brought these two together by switching the letters.
The only thing that kept me falling victim to sugar shock was the unnecessary melodrama and douchiness after Parker and Jake hooked up.

This story is deliciously perfect! Seriously a favorite!
It's the amazing romance type of 'widowed single dad finds a new love who loves him as much as he loves his child'.
And yes, that has me melt like butter. Soo good!
Of course, after having lost his husband (and the biological father of their son) one year earlier, Parker isn't ready for a new relationship. Like ever.
But being a single dad and a defense attorney isn't an easy life to align. So more often than not, he's disappointing his son Nate by parking him at day care even on weekends.
Much worse, however, is how Parker deals with the memory of his husband... There are no pictures of Darren anywhere around the house and Parker doesn't talk to Nate about Darren at all, causing the boy to hurt even more.
When the day care lady notices that Parker's life is slowly going downhill, she suggests to hire a live-in nanny to take care of Nate full-time.
Among the more or less talented applicants for the position is a very handsome young man - Jake - who immediately impresses both Parker and Nate with his thoughtfulness, easygoing attitude and large height (and you know what they say about men with large feet, LOL). He's a hot hunk that makes Parker feel guilty for even looking at him and is therefore absolutely and in no way the right person for the job in Parker's opinion.
A funny twist of fate, however, brings Jake back on Parker's doorstep - as the new nanny.
Unable to get rid of the hot guy without losing face, Parker runs with the flow and now has a seriously gorgeous and kind nanny in his home.
Now we know how Mr Sheffield must have felt when Fran roamed through the house in her sexy curvy skirts.
Unfortunately this story doesn't share 'The Nanny's humor, so it's pretty dramatic to witness Parker's inner turmoil. He considers himself a married and faithful man in his soul, so he is unable to let charming and gentle Jake inside his heart, even though he can't resist him physically for long.
When things heat up and it's either let go of his old routine or lose the only light in his and Nate's life, Parker has a damn hard choice to make...
Wonderful! Absolutely great. I thought this was gonna be a shallow romance where dad falls for the hot nanny - with lots and lots of sex and - oh, yeah- a child to look after in between, but it's actually a very heartfelt story about a grieving dad and son and a fresh new smile in their life.
I adored this story to pieces!

Sometimes, when you are cooking, you can add new ingredient that makes your food amazingly good. However, you can also cook with common ingredients and come up with just as delicious food. This is what A Nanny for Nate offers. A great romantic story, using common ingredients that are probably have been used many times before: a widower with a child, a live-in nanny, a believable attraction, a guilt (from the widower) because acting on the attraction feels like a betrayal, a realization of love, and a happy ever after. Raise your hand if you never hear of this theme before; I'm sure none of you will.
Lisa Worrall combines all this and creates a charmer. That chemistry between Parker (the widower) and Jake (the live-in nanny) was palpable from the very start. I am so much in love with how the story progresses from there. What can I say, you give me kids, and I'm sold. Ms. Worrall writes the scenes between the two guys with Nate, the son, perfectly. The story takes great attention to Nate's voice as the child. Nate is not just there as a means to a plot, but he's an actual significant supporting character that pushes Jake to Parker's life in the beginning and helps Jake to see what kind a man Parker is. Similar case to Darren (the beloved late husband of Parker), his presence is real enough in Parker's memory and it adds to the nuance of the story.
There are so many scenes that stand out for me: When Parker handles Nate's fighting with the other boy in his school due to a bigotry comment, when Parker talks to Jake about how him and Darren met, when Jake unloads his heartache to his brother ... they are just wonderful. The first kiss is tender, the lovemaking sweet, the argument in the morning after is expected but nevertheless fits to the story, then Parker's realization over feeling jealous and afraid of losing Jake, all are done so, so well. In fact, all I want after I finish the story is to start reading it all over again.

I hated the way they talked. didn't seem natural at all, every character talked the same the 7 year old, the lawyer, and the nanny. Every character seemed the same
Too short. Any relationship building was skimmed over this is pretty much blah blah one day together fuck one guy freak out some angst then fuck again and HEA
There wasn't enough character development or anything to make me really like the guys. Story was cute I guess but i have read much better nanny stories, even ones this long that still felt complete

**3.5 stars** for this short and sweet romance full of feel-good moments.
It’s all very predictable but so sweet without being sugary, with some good banter and eye-rolling attitudes like only kids can come up with that I ended up with a warm smile in just a few hours.
And I really loved the trick Nate did to his Pop to get Jake hired :

Come potevo voler stare con qualcun altro, con te, quando non potevo stare con lui?»
Parker e il piccolo Nate vivono nella piccola cittadina di Glendale. Parker è rimasto vedovo dopo la morte improvvisa di Darren, il padre biologico di Nate. E’ ormai passato più di un anno e il giovane avvocato cerca di conciliare il suo ruolo di unico genitore con il lavoro che gli porta via sempre più tempo.
Quando Ellie, una simpatica sessantenne che cura in casa Nate e altri bambini, lo informa della sua partenza, Parker si lascia convincere a cercare una tata a tempo pieno che possa dare maggiori attenzioni a Nate durante la sua assenza. Durante i colloqui rimane ben impressionato da una giovane ragazza Melanie, ma l’ultimo candidato è Jake. Un uomo affascinante che risveglia in lui desideri sopiti e che conquista subito la simpatia di Nate.
Parker sceglie Melanie perché non vuole avere la personificazione della tentazione in giro per casa, ma per un “disguido” il primo giorno di lavoro si presenta davanti alla sua porta proprio Jake!
«Jake! Lo avevo detto a Papino che eri il mio preferito!» urlò Nate, abbracciando con fermezza l’uomo. Poi si liberò dalla presa di Jake e si gettò tra le braccia di Parker, facendo cadere la lettera dalle sue mani. «Grazie, grazie! Jake mi può portare al parco dopo la scuola? Prometto che farò i compiti.»
Lo stomaco di Parker si rivoltò. Merda! Come poteva ora mandare via Jake senza deludere Nate... di nuovo? Non si ricordava da quanto tempo non vedesse Nate così eccitato. Cosa avrebbe detto? Che Jake non poteva restare perché averlo sotto lo stesso tetto gli smuoveva qualcosa dentro riempiendolo di sentimenti che assomigliavano molto a trepidazione e paura? Sì, certo, proprio la cosa giusta da dire, genio. «Beh,» disse, «questo deve deciderlo Jake, piccolo, ma per me è ok... se va bene a lui.»
Inizia così una convivenza che porterà Parker ad affrontare se stesso e i sentimenti che prova per la nuova tata; e Jake se la sentirà di restare e di combattere per il loro amore?
“Una tata per Nate” è un racconto molto bello: narrato in terza persona, con uno stile scorrevole, in cui i protagonisti riescono a prendere forma e si inseriscono benissimo nella storia.
Una lettura che riesce a coinvolgere il lettore tra risate, amore e sofferenza con un pizzico di commozione.. soprattutto con un finale così emozionante e spiritoso!
La Triskell ha colpito ancora: una lettura fresca, dolce, spiritosa e passionale che consiglio a tutti gli amanti del genere!

This book reminds me of a romcom movie, which is a good thing. For some reason I keep picturing Katherine Heigl as the nanny, LOL. It was sweet and predictable. Im giving this 4 stars just because no character annoyed me.

Parker Adams è un avvocato di gran successo e un uomo di bell’aspetto. Ha un dolcissimo e tenero bimbo di sette anni di nome Nate ed è vedovo da oltre un anno.
Suo marito, Darren, è morto in seguito ad un incidente e questo evento ha segnato profondamente il cuore di Parker. Anche il piccolo Nate ha subìto questa perdita, eppure, il piccolo ricorda il suo papà con un sorriso.
«Parker,» [...] «non importa quanto tempo è passato. È ancora nuovo, doloroso, e tutti e due state ancora soffrendo. Dannazione, Nate si sente esattamente come te. Farai degli errori, nessuno si aspetta che tu sia perfetto... eccetto te, logico. Nate è un bravo bambino. Stai facendo del tuo meglio con lui e anche Darren lo penserebbe.»
La vita di Parker è piuttosto frenetica, e riuscire a far combaciare il ruolo di padre con quello dell’avvocato è complicato. Fino ad ora, grazie all’aiuto della vicina di casa che fa da babysitter a Nate, è riuscito a gestire tutto.
Quando la signora dice di dover partire, Parker si ritrova a dover cercare una nuova tata.
«Parker, ti stai ammazzando di lavoro e questo è il capolinea, anche se tu ti rifiuti di vederlo. Chiedere aiuto non è segno di debolezza. Nessuno si aspetta che tu faccia tutto da solo, a parte te stesso. Hai bisogno di fare questo per Nate. Non può permettersi di perdere un altro padre.»
La nuova tata di Nate si chiama Jake Walsh. Parker, fin dal primo momento in cui lo vede, rimane affascinato da questo ragazzo. Con Nate è fantastico e in poco tempo Jake si affeziona al piccolo. Il tempo scorre e i sentimenti poco alla volta mettono radici.
«È ovvio che non devi dimenticarlo. Tu devi amarlo e ricordare quanto lui amava te, ma devi metterlo da parte e andare avanti. Per il bene di Nate, se non per il tuo. Dannazione, Parker, non sei tu a essere morto!»
Una tata per Nate è un libro breve che vi terrà compagnia con la sua dolce e tenera storia d’amore. Tra i due protagonisti ho preferito Jake per il suo carattere solare e divertente. È una storia a cottura lenta che vi terrà incollati fino alla fine.
Lo stile, la traduzione e l’editing sono ben curati ed è una lettura molto piacevole. In questo libro, l’autrice affronta il tema della perdita e dell’elaborazione del lutto in modo delicato e Nate porta sempre un po’ di gioia nella storia. Consigliato.

Seriously adorable story of Parker, father of Nate, who lost his very beloved husband to a motorcycle accident. Parker is a lawyer, with difficult hours, and needs to find someone to care for Nate when his day care lady moves. She helps out there, and Jake is interviewed. Too much attraction for Parker, and he sends Jake a polite letter of refusal, only to find a clever Nate knows the nanny he likes and has switched letters. The story could have been cloying and super sweet, and it isn't. I cried for Parker, so torn up feeling he was betraying his husband, and the part with the pictures, I could so envision someone lost in grief doing that and so regretting it. Jake is a treasure, Nate is adorable. I do like stories with kids, and this one seemed real. The three do not have the super easy time of it, but they work so well. Loved it.

Parker had lost his husband, Nate's father, in really tragic circumstances and was struggling to come to terms with his loss. Even a year after the event he still felt the loss terribly. He works long hours and Nate has to visits a babysitter more than is ideal and the pressure is taking it's toll on his relationship with Nate. Nate just wants his 'pop' back.
When the sitter advises she is moving from town, Parker is forced to look at alternative childcare and interviews for a live-in nanny. Due to his attraction to Jake, Jake wouldn't have been his first choice but thanks to Nate's interference, Jake joins the household.
Jake and Nate naturally bond but Parker struggles with his feelings, spending more and more time at the office to hide from how he really feels.
I have not lost anyone in such circumstances, so cannot even pretend to understand how hard it would be to come to terms with the loss of a lover but this story had a true sense of realism. The new relationship progressed at the appropriate pace and Parker's pain and struggle was obvious. It was wonderful how his friends and loved ones wanted him to move on and find happiness but it was equally as wonderful that Jake understood that Darren was an important part of Parker and always would have a special place in the family.
This was a truly lovely story. It wasn't overly long but full of emotion with a real sense of hope for second chances.

Parker, 32 lawyer, is raising his 7 yr. old son alone
after his husband's death a year ago. He's having trouble balancing work and home, so, his friend suggests a nanny. Little Nate and his friend Marcus switch envelopes because they don't like the lady chosen.
On the first day of work, Jake, 27, 6'6''
with reddish-brown hair and brown eyes, shows up ready to do the job.
Nate already likes him,
and Parker was impressed by him also, but had chosen another, because of the attraction he felt. The first day of school Nate hits someone and Jake goes to see what's up. Nate has a shiner, and it warms Jake's heart to see how Parker handled it at home.
Then after 3 months of a wonderful routine, a night turns into passion: stripped, swallowed, muffled cries, erotic, eager hands, rhythmic, savoring, pleasure, breathy moans, etc....
Parker gives Jake four week notice in a rash decision, (how can he love someone new and forget his husband?) but at week three, Parker sees Jake with a man, he doesn't know it is Jake's brother, and he goes possessive to the max.
This is cute, adorable, heartwarming, and loving.

Love it!!! I loved Parker and Jake from the first moment they met there was a spark. I thought Nate was a little cutie. This was a great second chance at love, love story. It made me tear up in parts which is when I know it's a great story. I could so understand how Parker felt and was so glad he gave himself another chance to find love, so that he and Nate could have Jake in their lives for their happy ending. Just in time for fathers day:-)

Parker Adams is a single Dad trying to care for his seven-year-old son while grieving the death of his husband a year after losing him to a hit-and-run accident. When his regular sitter moves away, Parker hires a live in nanny to give Nate more stability. Due to a mix up with the envelopes, the six foot plus hunky Jake Walsh turns up on his doorstep. Despite being perfect for the job, Parker had purposely decided to give the job to another candidate because Jake was too perfect and during the half hour interview had awoken feelings in Parker that he had thought were gone forever. Now he must cope with having Jake under his roof twenty-four-seven.
This was a sweet story. Parker's grief over losing Darren was heartbreaking. Nate is super cute and I fell in love with him instantly. Jake was tsssssssssss ... hotness. I loved that - in some ways - he was just a big kid himself and in others, he was all man. Mm-mm, yummy. Parker was okay but frustratingly passive when it came to Jake. I wish he was more assertive and protective of Jake's feelings.
Bottom line: a sweet story about moving on from an earth-shattering loss to love again.

This was a feel good love story that could have been sappy but for Ms Worral's skillful writing. Parker is the father of a seven year old boy and a man mourning the death of his husband. Working long hours as a lawyer, Parker decides that he needs a live in nanny to give young Nate some stability. Along comes Jake, recently out of work in a day care center, and wins Nate over in no time. There is definitely a connection between Parker and Jake but Parker tries to bury it feeling that moving on would be cheating on his dead husband. The matchmaking by Nate was well written and cute. The story flowed so well that it was over before I knew it. Parker, Jake and Nate seemed so very real with their own insecurities and charm. I recommend this book highly to anyone looking for a feel good read.

This is a nice book, and on time for the Father's Day in the US. I just don't understand why the same publisher would publish two books with a same topic on the same day. It begs for comparison.
Nanny for Nate's plot is standard love story between a father (Pop) and the nanny. Everything comes with this standard plot applies here. Cute kid? Check. Hot father? Check. Hot nanny? Check. Father still mourning of the lost spouse? Check. A pushy but supportive best friend? Check. Cute dog? Err... no. (It's part of the reasons I give this 4 stars and the other book a 5 star.)

Loved the characters and this probably could have been a five star read - for those family friendly, angst-free, feel good read, sappy moments - but I didn't like the first kiss between the MCs. To have Jake initiate it when Parker was having a breakdown over Darren's death felt a bit predatory to me. Not to mention, who licks someone's tears away when they've never had intimate contact with the person crying before? I didn't like it. It would have been more realistic to have Jake and Parker hug and then slowly become aware of each other and the intimate situation they were in. The ending just got slightly sappy for me. But all in all, I loved this story and would read it again.

This is a pleasant story about a widower who falls for his live-in nanny. I enjoyed the premise and the characters, but felt that the book was too short to do justice to the romance. It all happened too fast, like Worrall was saying "Trust me, they fell in love" and I could only shrug and say "If you say so." I would have liked to have spent more time with the characters and really experience the process. I also thought the sex scenes were rather mechanical and uninspired.
But overall this was a nice book and I will look for this author's work in the future.

I loved this book. There's nothing particularly new here but it was so sweet that my teeth ached. I liked that about it.
The kid, Nate, was cute. There wasn't one thing annoying about him. The part where he calls his friend on the cell phone for advice was adorable. I guess when you're seven, a ten year old seems pretty wise sometimes.
This will most likely be a re-read for me. It was one of those stories that didn't make me tense or anxious, so when I need a calm read this story will be one that I pick up time and time again.

I really liked this story about a widower and his son who both find happiness again when Jake comes into their lives. I was in the mood for a sweet story with a nice touch of angst and the right amount of hurt and A Nanny for Nate delivered just that. I thought the author handled the element of Parker's guilt about falling in love again very well, not too overwhelmingly dramatic. Still, I might have used one or two hankies. ;) Recommended read: 4.5 stars.

I’ve discovered that I’m a sucker for the nanny/manny trope in romance, and since I hadn’t read one in a while, I picked up A Nanny for Nate. It’s been on my TBR pile for a while, and I was in the mood for something cute and sweet and this seemed like it might fit the bill. It’s the story of Parker, a single father who lost his husband a year earlier in a tragic accident. He’s been struggling ever since to find a balance between his busy work schedule and caring for his young son. Now he’s about to lose their beloved babysitter. She suggests that he hire a live-in nanny and presents him with a few promising candidates. After interviewing them, he narrows it down to two, a young man and a young woman. His son has a clear preference for the male candidate, but the instant attraction Parker feels for Jake leaves him running scared. He offers the job to the woman – or so he thought – until Jake shows up on his doorstep. Parker can’t possibly send him away now, especially with his son being so excited about the new nanny, but when their attraction takes root and starts to blossom into something more, Parker can’t seem to get past the feeling that he’s somehow cheating on the husband he adored.
Parker is a busy attorney, who met his husband, Darren, on a business trip to England. They instantly hit it off and eventually Darren came to the U.S. and they married. Darren was the single father of Nate, an infant son who was the product of a drunken one-night stand, but whom he adored. Parker adopted Nate, but Darren was the stay-at-home dad and was only just thinking of going back to work when he was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident while biking. Ever since then, Parker has struggled with figuring out how to balance his career with being a good father and feels like he’s failing. When his sitter announces that she’s moving away, he’s about to freak out until she tells him she’s already vetted a few replacement candidates for him who are interested in a live-in nanny situation. When Jake shows up for the interview, Parker is instantly attracted to him, but the emotions and lust Jake arouses leave Parker uncomfortably feeling like he’s being unfaithful to Darren’s memory. He decides to hire a female candidate even though Jake had been Nate’s favorite. However, after an apparent mix-up with the envelopes notifying the candidates of his decision, Jake is the one who shows up for work. Living together for the next several weeks only makes the attraction grow stronger, but when they finally give in to their passion, Parker can’t help feeling a load of guilt that he has trouble processing, leading to him nearly losing Jake. Parker is a good dad who came to rely on Darren a lot, so like many parents who are suddenly faced with raising a child alone, he struggles to figure things out. He vacillates between being angry with Darren for not fixing his bike and for leaving him, and loving him so much, he can’t seem to let him go. I kind of found myself wishing that he didn’t feel quite so much guilt over falling for Jake, but he does eventually come around.
Jake is a pretty easy-going kind of guy. After college, he started working at a small day-care center. He enjoyed his job, but with the center about to close its doors, he needs to find a new position and wants to try being a live-in nanny. He didn’t expect to get the first job he interviewed for, so being hired is a pleasant surprise. He was as attracted to Parker when they first met as Parker was to him, but he tries to keep things professional. However, a fun family outing finally loosens Parker up enough to talk more honestly with Jake, leading to some intense passion. But Jake wakes up the next morning to an empty bed and Parker giving him the cold shoulder. Even though Jake loves Nate and has fallen in love with Parker, he realizes that he can’t stay if Parker can’t put the ghost of his dead husband to rest. Jake is great with Nate, proving that he’ll make an awesome dad and he’s kind and caring toward Parker. The only thing that might have made him a better character is if he’d fought a little harder for a relationship with Parker instead of all but giving up after one obstacle is thrown into his path.
Overall, A Nanny for Nate is a cute, heartwarming story that was a pleasure to read. It’s on the short side, probably only long novella length, so the story is a little light on character and plot development. It looks like the book was republished with additional material added, and it appears that I have this newer version. I’m not sure how it differs from the original, but even with new scenes supposedly added, I still couldn’t help thinking it could have been beefed up even more. There were also a lot of typos that a good editor/proofreader should have caught and that could be rather distracting. But in spite of these things, I still enjoyed the story for what it is. Parker, Jake, and Nate make a wonderful little family unit and the sweet epilogue stamped paid to their HEA for me. So, it was a good read that I would recommend to readers who enjoy a good M/M romance about a single dad and his manny.

Let me first start out by saying I never read the "original" of this story, just this one :)
Next, let me say, I forkin' LOVE Lisa Worrall. I have said it before and I will continue saying it until she tells me to stop ;)
Now, onto, A Nanny for Nate. I have put this off so much because I really don't like reading about deceased partners. Why? It's just not for me. There's too many people to tell the MC's to move on, so and so would want you live your life, it's time, etc. Everybody grieves differently and in this case it's only been a year! A YEAR! Are you kidding me? I grieved longer for my lost blankie. Nobody can tell somebody they've grieved enough and it's time to move on.
I am so glad I picked this up though. Oh man. The whole scene in the beginning made me think about how I am with my girls. How many times have I said "just a minute" or "let me finish this and we can play" or something along those lines, only to look at their face and see disappointment. I felt like shit just thinking about it. When Parker had to work on a Saturday when those are Nate and Parker's days :( Made me cry.
I did kind of feel like Parker was kind of selfish in his grief though. Yeah, he lost a husband, but Nate, who was 6 at the time, lost his Daddy. Didn't Parker realize he wasn't the only one grieving the loss? It would have been to have them talk about Darren more (before Jake came along).
Jake, oh Jake, how much do I love you? SOOOOOO much!
I felt like I was right there with Parker and his grief. When he talked to Clay, I cried. Again, who does Clay think he is, telling Parker it's time to live his life? I was right there with Parker when he felt like he was betraying Darren.
Overall, I loved it. It felt real. I also liked how Nate, who was 7, ACTED LIKE A 7 YEAR OLD! I have a 7 year old and they were about spot on. I always hate how kids don't act like their age they are supposed to portray.

Lisa Worrall has created a delightful tale of widower Parker Adams and his son, Nate. When Parker’s husband dies and his babysitter moves away, he (accidentally) hires gorgeous manny Jake Walsh. The story unfolds as Jake, Parker and Nate grow closer…the two men eventually developing feelings for one another despite Parker’s insecurities. It hits a crescendo when Parker has to decide between being faithful to the memory of his old love or opening his heart to love once again.
There is not much angst in this novel, there are painful memories for Parker, who misses his husband, but ultimately A Nanny for Nate by Lisa Worrall is about rediscovering love after a loss. I found that I really liked Jake, his determination and capacity for joy. Nate, was also a pistol, playing matchmaker for his father with the new nanny and generally acting like a normal child and not a ‘book’ one. Parker, was harder to pin down for me, I found his character to be indecisive, but not enough so for me to dislike him. The love story was charming, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon read.
A Nanny for Nate is a sweet and uncomplicated story about finding love again. The characters are realistic and the plot progresses at a lovely pace. I enjoyed reading about this non-traditional family and think you will too. A perfect book for Father’s Day.

This was an absolutely adorable story. Parker, recently widowed when his husband was killed in a motorcycle accident, hires nanny, Jake, to help care for his son, Nate. As the three individuals grow closer, Parker and Jake develop feelings for one another. However, Parker feels like he's somehow betraying the memory of his deceased husband, Darren, by pursuing anything with Jake.
I found all three of the main characters in this story delightful. Jake was the perfect tall, dark and handsome hero who swoops in and helps a broken family finally heal and move forward. Nate brought a smile to my face and was very cute.
A Nanny for Nate was a quick read that definitely left me with warm and fuzzy feelings. :)

Super cute, I really liked Jake, he seemed like a big ol kid himself and nothin is funner to a kid than another big kid, one who can take you to do fun stuff like go to amusement parks and the beach!
Parker I felt like he was a little selfish, don't get me worng, I know he was hurting and he had a reason to be closed off and all that, I couldn't imagine losing my husband, but I didn't feel like he treated Jake very well the next day and then for the next 3 weeks. Like I said, I understood 100% I just didn't agree with it, but it all worked out in the end. :D
Nate was really cute too, the beginning about broke my heart for him so I was glad he got someone he loved out of his scheming to get his dad to pick Jake :P Clever kid
Overall, it was a cute little read.

It's okay...mmm, alright. Nothing groundbreaking, nor anything that made my heart beat faster. It was kinda stiff, the writing that is. Some authors just have a more formal, reserved style that does not serve romance very well.
The story itself was okay but I wasn't at all emotionally entangled nor much moved by the bedroom scenes either. I didn't quite feel the professed love and the sex was not chemistry laden either. All in all, a bit dry. And because the nanny and the daddy has been done to death, that this one is unremarkable/ undifferentiated from the rest, plus stiff in tone and voice, is why it earns only a 2.5.
