Born and raised in the midwest meant Aaron would have to travel to see the mountains, ocean, desert, temperate rain forest and everyplace in between. Reading and writing allows Aaron to visit places that are exciting, dangerous, and exotic. It also allows him to meet new people, battle with powerful enemies, fall in love and get his heart broken and all the while he won't have to pay extra for a second suitcase or put on sunscreen.

Aaron has always enjoyed writing and reading. In the past he worked at the local college as a peer writing tutor. He did this partly for part time income and because he enjoyed it so much. Sharing and collaborating with passionate writers and avid readers simply felt right to Aaron. Years after this, he decided it was time to sit down, write and publish so he could share and engage with an even larger community.

3.5 stars I think for this. For me the first 60% or so of the book was pulling me in but after that,I don't know what it was but it wasn't as compelling. It was good still, don't get me wrong,I just enjoyed the first 60% better.
I also felt the ending was a little rushed,a good ending but just a tad rushed,I think.I would of liked to get a little more insight into the characters of Gus(the one who passed the powers)a little more as well as Umberto.Evelyn too,I would of liked to find out a little more about her.
Overall though,a good read, well thought out story by the writer and a enjoyable book.

I received this from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Summary:
This book is about a man named Colby, like the cheese(:P), who is a normal guy who is trying to become successful and overall just be happy. Then one day his sleeping pattern is thrown completely out of wack, only getting 2-3 hours per night no matter what he tries. He meets a shrink who says they are able to help him get rid of his suffering and cure him. From there it is a roller coaster ride of things you would never expect. I won't indulge too much because I really do think this is worth reading and discovering the secrets on your own.

Dislikes: I felt like some of the characters just vanished from the story leaving me feel rather incomplete and sometimes the monologues some of the characters had were a bit wordy. Not saying these are bad things just personal quirks.

Likes: The plot twists. Man, Oh Man the plot twists. I never saw any of it coming. I was constantly surprised with what was happening next. And I think the best thing about this book was Aaron's ability to create a villain. It's been a while since I've read a book and literally wanted to punch someone in the face.

Overall thoughts:
I really enjoyed the book even though at some points I was getting thrown for a loop. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions filled with brilliant characters that you won't be forgetting.

Again, thank you to Aaron for letting me read this book. I hope you all have a beautiful night. And remember, spread love, not hate. <3

Love this kind of book!...

The kind that let you thinking and put you in a position of wondering about everything.

Like...
How the story goes from one calm, nice moment to a completely unexpected change.
The writer is taking you through all this situations in the life of a normal man name Colby, who happens to want the same things in life that we all do. But some how the monotony he thought he had in his life comes to an end abruptly and everything starts to change.
The story is full of ups and downs and things you would never expect... You will never imagine where is taking you.

Some of the characters were coming out in the story in such an interesting way... Like the villain, can't say much but I like it some much that I wanted to punch something.

But...
I have to confess something... At some point I thought this book was turning into a religious way and I thought about leaving it unfinished, but it didn't, everything that was happening only made it more interesting.

Love the writing and descriptive style of this author.

The religious undertone is undeniable, yet at the say time, it is a great thought provoker for any person seeking to toy with supernatural ideas.

The characters in the book go through various emotional issues which allows the reader to think about how certain emotions trigger strengths and weaknesses within us….for instance, the parts of us we are willing to sacrifice to minimize emotional pain, the destruction we are willing to impose on others for the soul purpose of self-indulgence or the lengths we are will to go for someone else’s approval.

The book allowed me to play with the thought of what if there were certain individuals who possessed the ability to affect another human being via electrical impulses or something to that effect? Or what If, perhaps, we all have this ability, but are not aware of it? If this book depicted real life, would this world cease to exist? Would we not all be slaves to powerful individuals who at any given time could manipulate us to act according to their desires?

This book requires the ability to accept unseen powers or abilities merging with our lives….it merges magic with reality and allows the reader to ponder their own character and how we all have some type of talent or qualities we can share with others….and then the question is….how do we want to share this quality….what is our underlying motive?

I enjoyed the concept of this book. It allowed me thoughts I’ve previously had, but in a completely different light.

The story line felt like a filler for the actual purpose of this book. I felt like as I was trying to figure out the supernatural in the book, I lost the storyline and rather than merging the story with the idea, the two separated ways and my understanding of both the concept and storyline was lost.

I found some parts of the book a little too descriptive, which didn’t leave much left for the imagination.

There were also characters introduced who I felt had some importance in the story, but they disappeared before I really understood their purpose or I felt their purpose fell a little short.

The story is not a predictable one…the reader really can’t guess what’s going to happen next, which I really like…but I was also, at times, left wondering why the story took the turn it did….which makes me think that if I read the book again, knowing what I know now, I’d be able to read the story with a greater appreciation for what I thought was the unknown, but as it turns out, had a deeper purpose than I suspected.

If read merely in terms of storyline, I would not have enjoyed this book as much…I read this book with the purpose of allowing myself to speculate the alternate world that could be out there.

Thanking the author for giving me the opportunity to read and review A Miracle's Path.

First of all, what I appreciated a lot about this book, is that Millar did NOT pour a tonload of syrup on Colby's paranormal gift. Neither did he slap it exceedingly in our faces.

One might not always agree with what our main character does, call him a bit naive or even a sucker at times. But it's written in such a way that it's hard to not like Colby.

We follow him throughout the course of his life, take twists and turns. And while doing so, I got the feeling I actually got to know the people crossing his path - for whatever reason. Even though not all of them stick around very long, I started to miss them at some point. Like I wonder... what happened to JJ? And the others??

You WILL find out what fate Ahriman awaited. The suspense keeps building up towards the end and while everything seemed to unfold in front of our eyes, it turned out quite unexpected! Brilliant!

REVIEW: A MIRACLE' S PATH by Aaron Millar

Colby Ruegin is a feckless account executive who perpetually bounces from lucklessness to seeming success back to lucklessness. 'Twould be easy to believe in a malevolent deus ex machina with an axe to grind, so peripatetic are the events of Colby' s life. His sleeping disorder, which has already interfered with his career and his shaky marital status (in which both husband and wife have dropped the ball) soon evolves into a paranormal talent. Of course, since it's Colby, trouble and danger manage to introduce themselves into his new chances for happiness, and so the spiral of his learning curve continues apace.

This was a very interesting story. The main character goes through a lot of heartache and is used for others gain constantly. This book definitely was not tied in a pretty happy bow at the end, which is great for me. I was a little sad though, I was rooting for a happy ending after all Colby had been through. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it was so depressing, it might have just been the week I was having but I really rooted for some happiness. Still its worth a read.

This book was very well written! I felt I knew the characters on a personal level and kept craving more and more. There is an amazing twist at the end of the book! I am looking forward to reading the second book. Thanks Aaron Millar for a spectacular read!!

The first thing I liked about this book was the writing – the story line is very catchy, easy to read and easy to imagine all the action during the reading process without having excessive descriptive paragraphs or unexciting introduction, which I actually enjoyed.

Second, the action was very engaging, with a lot of twists in the plot and basically you can’t really know what is going to happen next – so it felt like a naturally suspense which made me want to read more.

Overall, I really liked the book – it had a little drama, a lot of suspense, a little love story and it also reveals how the main character (Colby) is evolving during all these experiences.

Favorite quote from the book - “Letting go of all the hate, regret, guilt, anger and pain will set a person free and they will feel safe and have a healthier mind and body. Often forgiveness is what is needed. This also includes forgiving oneself.”

Not typical for my reading as I am more into fantasy type novels than drama/suspense otherwise I might have enjoyed it more. The books follows the main character who has amazing abilities, but doesn't see it as he affects the lives of others in positive ways. I enjoyed the characters, but got lost a little in the antagonist abilities to be almost capable of everything but can't get something done.

The story nicely builds on itself at an ever increasing rate. I went back and forth between which characters I liked the most as their personalities started showing more and more. The suspense is great also because it always left me wanting to turn just a few more pages before bed. The first person view point was outstanding especially as Colby was dealing with the main antagonist. I recommend this book 100%.

A great book with interesting ideas. I loved the second and third parts of the book with very interesting characters and a unique story line. I really enjoyed both of the main antagonists in the story.

This book is worth a read for sure. The story is great and I loved the way it unfolded, just little bits of information at a time, I was hooked. Although it can be a bit wordy in places and the ending felt a little rushed I would recommend!
