Thirteen years ago, Alina Hawthorne’s otherworldly gifts attracted the attention of an inhuman creature looking to rid himself of a demon curse. Her family destroyed, she survived by running. Twenty-six cities and countless aliases later, she’s still trying to stay one step ahead of her past, keeping alive by keeping alone.
Nicholas, a fallen angel living in exile, never meant to pull Alina into his decaying world. He only wants to continue his pursuit of revenge against the powerful force of evil who stole his divinity, infected his blood, and left him for dead. But when he realizes there is more to Alina than even she knows, he must choose between guiding her toward her destiny or fulfilling his own quest for retribution.
Can Alina convince him there’s more to life than pain? Or will Nicholas’ need for vengeance destroy them both?

I was extremely fortunate to have been given an advanced reader copy of this wonderful book and having read it's prequel, Fallen River, I was very excited to dive into the next chapter of this beautifully written story.
I found Breaking Sea to be absolutely riveting! The story line drew me in instantly with an immediate need to try to figure out how the totally engaging characters were going to maneuver through it and how their worlds were going to unfold.
I loved how overwhelmingly strong their connection to each other was, no matter what it cost them. As I turned each page, I so equally empathized with both Alina and Nicholas, not one over the other. This feeling only acheived by the writer, Ms. Wade's amazing descriptive words and her clever way of allowing the reader to see right into the deepest, darkest corners of the character's hearts. It just made me want to root for them all the more and hope for them to be rewarded with a happy ending for all their trials and tribulations!
All in all, a brilliant book, perfectly tying in the previous story Fallen River and very highly recommended!
