I found this book at my local library when I was looking for something new to read. I knew nothing about the book before I started reading it.
I love the style the book is written in. The diary format makes it feel like you’re going through each day with the character. You felt like you experienced things with them.
One of the things I related to the most in the book was when the narrator was looking at herself in the mirror and looking at all her “problem areas”. I’ve had days where I will stare into the mirror and think about how if I changed one thing that I would look better. I liked how this diary gave readers a chance to see that side of things.
The ending felt a little bit rushed in my opinion. I wanted to learn more about when she first started coughing up blood. Had it just started that day or had it been going on for a week? I also want to know what happens to Jill and the other characters. Does Jill experience a similar fate? Do people blame her and her mom for what happened to the narrator? What happens to Jack? How does he deal with his girlfriend’s death knowing his sister contributed towards it?
In conclusion, I highly recommend reading this book.
