Abdizhamil Karimuly Nurpeisov is the People's writer of Kazakhstan, one of the word-painters who have made great contributions to the Kazakh literature. He was born in Kyzylorda region, in the neighborhood of Ushkon of the village Kulandy situated in Aral area.

My life will never be the same after reading this book. If you ever thought about learning about Kazakh people, ordinary people's every day life in the late 19th and 20th century, you better read this book. The author explains a lot of history from many perspectives, first is the man who is from poor family, the life seems unfair for him. But at the end, this is the way it is. On the other hand, the second character is very smart rich man, who never thought that he will be in such situation where he would be. At the end, everything we do comes to us by boomerang.
It could be quite depressive at times, and the book is quite long, but definitely worth it.

Very good, close to great. Parts reminded me of "The Radetzky March." Better than Aksyonov (more heart and sincerity). READ IT.
