The Yu Dragon
This is it. The final Level of the Game.
China in 80AD is the stage for the final showdown between Phoenix and Jade and
their arch-enemy, Feng Zhudai.
Things don't start off so well, though. Jade is a prisoner, separated by vast distances from
her companions; in the hands of Feng Zhudai himself. Phoenix and the others have to find her before they can even think of freeing her. What have they got to work with? How can they fight Feng Zhudai's incredible magical powers on his own home ground? How can they fulfill their quest to master the Yu Dragon, when they don't even know where to find it or what it looks like - or how to go about mastering a dragon?
To top it all off, they must stop Feng Zhudai from taking control of the Han Empire and the world. If he wins this round, it's all over. Everything and everyone they know and love will be destroyed - in both worlds.
With the fate of this world and their own in the balance, Phoenix and Jade have insurmountable odds stacked against them - and they keep getting worse. Feng Zhudai unleashes everything he has at them. Phoenix and Jade must make some tough decisions just to survive. Can they make the sacrifices required to win the

Phoenix, Jade, Marcus and Brynn are back in the amazing conclusion to the 80 A.D. YA series. In book 5, Jade has been captured by their arch-nemesis Feng Zhudai. Phoenix and the others must find the portal to get to Level 5 which is China and save her from his evil clutches as well as free the Yu Dragon and defeat the Sorcerer in order to go home. Can they accomplish their task in three days? Read on and find out.
This was a great book series. I enjoyed checking this Young Adult action adventure fantasy history series out this year and consider it one of my favorite book series I have checked out this year! This series was phenomenal. I started it a decade ago when I had a Nook and never made it through the first book until this go around. But man, do I regret not finishing it sooner. That ending had my jaw on the floor and was the perfect way to wrap up this series.

In the conclusion, the team are in ancient China and must defeat the boss level bad guy. A few twists and turns along the way, and a nice ending to the series.

The Yu Dragon is the final book in the excellent 80AD series. I was very concerned with the opening chapters of this book as it was very similar to the previous books, the male characters end up trapped in a tomb and Brynn triggers a bunch of traps and guardians after he tries to steal some treasures. Ironically even the characters point this out and blame ‘the programmers’ for being unoriginal. Fortunately once you are past those early chapters the story expands and there are plenty of new ideas.
Both of the main characters undergo big developments in this book and they have to work hard in the battles against the final boss. Seeing the final changes that have been building throughout the series was very satisfying and I felt a great sense of completion.
The interaction between the characters is very well written and the humour in the book is highly entertaining.
The actions sequences are exciting but there is also a good amount of slower more personal scenes to balance it out.
I enjoyed the ending; it was nice that the author kept whether the world of 80AD was real or not a mystery.

This is the last in the series 80AD, and it made a cracking end to the storyline.
Phoenix and Jade are now in the final level, but Jade has been separated from her companions and taken by Zhudai. She is scared, alone, and wants to go home, so finds herself wanting to believe him when he promises that he won't harm her or her friends. They, on the other hand, are determined to rescue her before she makes the wrong decisions.
The books have all concentrated on the restoration of balance as being the key to success, and this one also focuses on calling things by their correct name. All through the books they have been led towards self-realisation, and acceptance of themselves for who they are, not for what they are not, and this is the one which has more of the philosophical side of things.
Both Phoenix and Jade are then transported back to their own world, having defeated Zhudai, but really having realised that the ultimate quest, to master the Yu Dragon, was actually to master their own self doubts, and to be who they are meant to be.
The only jarring point in the book, I found, was towards the end, when there is a reference to an accident on the freeway...this is in Cambridge, England, and so please use motorway!!!
Overall, the series was excellent, but definitely should be read in order.

The ending seemed a bit abrupt to me. I was like, "What? That's it??" and not entirely in a good way. Might be nice to have some extra stories on what happens after the main stories, maybe some after-adventures.. I just feel like I was left hanging there somehow...
I love the action and the humor, and you can really sense the friendship between the characters. The moral lessons are a bit blunt, but then again this book was meant for kids.
All in all, a nice read with a happy ending.

I am really sorry that the series have ended. I really enjoyed the adventure and the characters. I will gravely miss them and their little quirks.
In all this book was book was amazing. Lots of twists and turns, especially since I did not expect them to come up. Definitely an emotional roller coaster towards the middle of the book until the end of the quest. I do recommend this book to everyone. It is a great read for all ages.

This series was a bit of a surprise to me as I went into it not expecting a great deal and came out thoroughly enjoying it! I liked the storyline of this series and the progression of the characters, and this book was my favourite of the series. The ending was nice in bringing everything together. All in all, a good YA series, maybe aimed at a younger demographic, but a good read nonetheless.

This was a great ending to a good series. I liked the philosophy that was mentioned, but didn't like how the characters didn't really grow. Everything was too cut and dry. I really didn't like how Phoenix's father survived his car crash because of them going back in time; it just seemed to cut and dry.

A great way to end the series! Lots of twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat. Any complaints I might have had regarding the earlier books (typos or odd punctuation, flat characters, etc.) have been rectified by this book. I'm quite glad I took the time to follow Phoenix and Jade on their adventures.

Very enjoyable conclusion to a very interesting and enjoyable series. As I read I try to see the movie in my head. Due to the amount of violence in this book I am a bit reluctant to recommend it to my students.

A great finish to a good series. The character development that was missing in book four is back. The plot proceeds at a pace where it kept me turning the pages to the very end. Don't miss this series.

This was a wonderful series. In my opinion, this was the best book of the series. I would like to know what will happen to Jade and Phoenix in the real world. The ending left me curious.

What I really liked about this series is that it had so many wonderful lessons you glean from it. And going around different continents didn't hurt either ;)

I have very much enjoyed the 80 A.D. series, and this final volume brought it all to a fitting end. Our characters continue to grow and mature and the action is well done.
