Four poems here - out of a total 46 well-chosen ones - are seven star masterpieces. Those of Sujata Bhatt, Dom Moraes, Arundhati Subramanian, and Arun Kolatkar.
One of the best read anthologies of poems ever. Jerry and Arundhati have compiled a wonderful range of poems on love from some of the best Indian authors including jeet Thayil and Vikram Seth. There are two poems by the editors themselves. I feel this is also one of the most underrated anthologies I've ever come across to. A must read and delve into the world of these great minds who speak about confronting love to someone.
A good collection of poems looking at love from different perspectives. The shortest among them and one of my favorite was by none other than Vikram Seth:
My love, I love your breasts. I love your nose. I love your accent and I love your toes. I am your slave. One word, and I obey. But please don't slurp your coffee in that way.
Contains poetry by Jerry Pinto and Arundathi Subramaniam (co-editors) and Kamala Das, Meena Alexander, Manohar Shetty, Eunice de Souza and about twenty other Indian poets.
The carefully collated anthology of interesting lesser known love poems by 46 modern indian poets is a delight to read. From poems about falling in love to sustaining love & mapping it's twisted trajectory, all these poets have something fresh to say about the age old human fallacy ❤
