Kat always has a new sandwich to each for lunch, but Mouse only brings cheese. Kat likes having a new sandwich, Mouse likes having just cheese. Maybe they are too different and should just eat alone.
Except, that's not good either. In the end, Kat and Mouse realize that being different is okay, and being friends is better.
Filled with bright colorful characters and delicious images of sandwiches, this is a fun beginning reader.
I received an electronic ARC from Bloomsbury USA Children's Books through NetGalley. First book in a new series. Kat and Mouse are good friends and eat lunch together every day. Kat loves to experiment with different foods and invent new sandwiches; Mouse sticks with the same thing every day - a wedge of cheese. I love Yoon's point that we can be different and still be best friends. The illustrations are humorous and help bring readers in - may even make them hungry.
I am anxiously waiting for Kat & Mouse: I Like Cheese to be released, so that I can grab a copy for my 1st grade classroom. As it is written in a similar style to Mo Willems's Elephant and Piggie books, I know that young readers will love this new series.
Thank you to Bloomsbury USA Children's Books and NetGalley for an ARC of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.
Delightful. This is how a children's book should be written. Great eye-catching fun illustrations to match simple text. But the simple text turns into a story with a message. I highly recommend this book.
Kat & Mouse: I Like Cheese! was a relaxing read. It had cute graphics. . It will be a good read for young ones and teaching for them about coming together despite your differences. Some people like routine things and others like switching things up. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
