Karl has degrees in Physics and Maths, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine and Surgery and has worked as a physicist, tutor, film-maker, car mechanic, labourer, and as a medical doctor at the Kids' Hospital in Sydney.
In 1995 he took up the position of the Julius Sumner Miller Fellow at Sydney University, spreading the good word about science and its benefits.
His enthusiasm for science is totally infectious and no one is better able to convey the excitement and wonder of it all than Dr Karl Kruszelnicki is.
Largely a lot of stuff I already knew at a level lower than what I would want to read. But there were a few new facts I wasn't aware of (largely Dr Karl's actual medical qualifications), and it's still written well, as with most of his books.
If you don't like his other stuff, this won't change your mind, if you do it's more of the same.
This is the second book that I read on Myth buster. Fortunately, I read the translation, otherwise I won't understand because the explanation is so theoretical, too much big words. The picture or illustration really help.
There are some explanation that I want to know, some are interesting to know although I never thought about it, some are actually important to know and Some I really don't care.
Overall, a good book to read. Now you won't have to live your life limited by myth anymore
Dr Karl, enjoyably, writes in the same excited teacher's voice that he speaks in. This would be great for late primary school, or secondary school, although adults will enjoy his credible science teaching just as much.
School would have been infinitely more enjoyable if my science teachers approached science with the same level of enthusiasm as Dr Karl. You can't help but enjoy his humor and enthusiasm for science.
