Clay My new gym is taking all my time. The women I meet are nothing like what I want. I like to be in control. I like a woman who is tiny, curvy and innocent. I have a specific type and I can't seem to find her in my world. That all changes when a client hands me that little black card and I find Bitty Sweet. Shy, sensitive and smart as a whip, she intimidates any man she comes in contact with. Not me. I know what she wants, what she craves. Someone to let her beautiful mind rest, to take control and just let her be a woman who wants a man. Her innocent blue eyes hidden behind her tortoiseshell glasses glasses spark with desire the very first time I take her in hand. That's all it takes and I know that I'm never letting her go. She's mine to hold, control and keep forever. She's never getting away from me. Bitty I can't believe I did it. I put myself out there trying to find a man. When I meet Clay, I feel something click into place. i feel like I've been waiting for him my whole life. Logically, I know that's not possible, but for the first time in my life I just shut my brain down and feel. Clay is huge and muscular. Masculine in a way I've never experienced on the college campus. His big hands touch me and I melt into his arms, putty in his hands. This can't be real, can it? He says I'm his forever but are those just pretty words until he gets what he wants? It feels like I've finally found my home, the one person who knows my every thought and desire and lives to fulfill them until I'm breathless, sated, unable to move. I just don't know how long this will last. Could he be my one and only for all time?
What kept this from being a 4 or 5 star read is how this one played out for me..
I didn't believe it. Simple as that. I'll tell you why..
This insta-love literally in just under 8 hours would have been believable if this were an Alien Sci-fi read or a paranormal romance, but it's not.. This is about a 36 yr old successful business man, and a young college student, who meet through a dating website referral plan...They match well and so they meet for the first time, and then all of a sudden, literally just a few hrs after meeting, they are exchanging I love yous and she's moving in with him! Really?
Now, I bought how possessive Clay is.. Cause yeah, that's accurate. Trust me.. Especially since he believes he's found what he's wanted in a woman.. I get that.. But he still had to get to know her for a bit.. I mean come on, I would have believed this if there was 90 days in between them meeting, but not freaking 8 hrs or less.. And the Epilogues felt out of place.. Even though they were nice and very long-term HEA.. Still, they would have fit better if the time span for their love to develop in the present, was longer than just 2 handful of hrs for this couple.
Now, what I liked about this very brief story was the set up for them both, and how Clay dismissed that sl^t puppy from his gym *giggles* nice touch.. But I liked Clay.. I liked his character set up and I liked Bitty too..I feel she should have been a bit older than she was though, but for the most part I liked her. I did think that the sex scene(s) were well written as well.. As well as one can be written with limited emotional development for the characters. Could they have been hotter? Yes. But they were still better than lukewarm or cold fish status..
I also liked that the spelling and grammar in this brief story was on point. I think I only saw 2 minor mistakes. So this kept me in the flow of the story. On technical writing and the character set up I would give this one 4 stars. But the overall story and how things were executed & fleshed out, for such a brief story, this story only gets 3 stars for the effort. I was definitely expecting more here, if the synopsis and cover of this book is to be believed.
Also, it felt off, out of balance, that Bitty was even wanting to be in a relationship with a guy, since See what I mean? Makes no sense at all. Another plot set up should have been used here.. Definitely.
Would I re-read this?-No. Would I buy it?-No (Currently on KU at time of review) Would I still recommend it for a quick read?- Maybe
The constant description of the MCs threw me out of this novella. In novellas, I like the possibility of self-insertion or allowing the reader to imagine the character descriptions. This story made it clear that the characters were white, stereotypical (tan) white gym jock wants the tiny pale white woman, UGH!!
***TRIGGER WARNING: A few weeks (?) before the book starts, the heroine is almost sexually assaulted in her dorm room but she was able to get away. She's in therapy now and can't sleep out of worry that something will happen again. Towards the end of this novella, the same guy comes into her room and pushes her into the wall and slaps her, but the Hero comes in and beats the guy up. ***
Started out ok but quickly devolved. I really would've appreciated a TW for the trauma and the attempted repeat with physical violence against the heroine.
As for the romance, the insta-love and insta-trust was too much in this case. If you're going to have the characters specifically have the desire to control their partner or be controlled, it needs to be given a longer timeline to truly build the trust needed for that kind of relationship.
I didn't like how the therapist talked to the heroine or how the security guard later on after the attack phrased his question. I know this is fiction, but they were both unprofessional and could've spoken more tactfully at least.
I really this book , Bitty and Clay are great , I love the way Bitty is and how Clay is with her , I like how they fell in love fast but I do think that
Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I really enjoyed this book, but it wasn't what I was expecting. More at end...
Clay and Bitty met when they both apply for the KNK Matchmaking Agency. Clay has been looking for someone but almost gives up until one of his clients suggest the agency. Bitty was attacked at college in her dorm room and her therapist suggest she contact the agency. When Clay walks in he finds Bitty immediately and knows she's the one he's been looking for. When a guy slides into her booth and starts to talk to her Clay comes to her rescue. Clay lays everything out for Bitty telling her exactly what he's looking for. Clay asks her to talk a walk with him and as they are talking Bitty agrees she wants him. Clay asks to see where Bitty is living so she takes him to her dorm room, and he tells her this won't do. Clay tells her to grab what she needs and takes her to his home, he reassures her that he'll wait for when she is ready. When they arrive at Clay's home Bitty tells him that she's ready and wants him. Clay is dominating and Bitty is submissive. The next morning Bitty wakes up and realizes she's going to be late for her class so she calls an Uber. When she gets to the college she needs to grab things in her dorm room, but she forgets to close the door. Daniel finds Bitty and tries to attack her, but she pulls away from him and dials Clay's number. Bitty tries to distract Daniel hoping that Clay will come to rescue her soon. Daniel hits Bitty and when she confesses she has a boyfriend who will punish him he hits her again. Clay comes bursting through the door and starts punishing Daniel. Bitty pleads with Clay to not kill Daniel. Campus police are called and an ambulance. Bitty tells Clay she saved him and that this isn't the first time that Daniel attacked her. Bitty fills charges against Daniel. Then Clay takes Bitty back home so that he can protect her and tells her she'll never be alone again. Bitty finally feels the security she has longed to feel with Clay. Clay asks Bitty to marry him and she tells him yes. Several months later, Bitty is pregnant with their first child and they are married. Several years later they have a daughter and two sons. Bitty wonders how she ever got so lucky to have Clay, one little black card.
***I only read this book hoping it would give more into Bitty and Lily's Rolling in Hot relationship. Sadly it doesn't even mention Lily!!! 😡 😡 😡

This was my first time reading Tamrin Banks, and I went in with cautious optimism. Jock came recommended in our book club, and between the cute blurb and the promise of a short, spicy romance (only 53 pages!), I figured—why not?
Well… let’s just say it wasn’t love at first page.
This is a bite-sized entry in the KNK Matching Agency series, which is a fun premise on paper: a matchmaking service pairs people based on their desires, quirks, and emotional baggage. Sounds fun, right? In theory, yes. In execution? Less so.
We’re introduced to Clay, our male lead, as he’s filling out his ideal-woman order form—courtesy of the KNK agency. He wants someone shy, sweet, and nothing like the women in his office (a bit of an eye-roll moment, but I held on). His honesty about his desires was actually refreshing, and I appreciated that he was upfront with his intentions once he meets Bitty.
And then there’s Bitty. Poor girl. She’s recovering from a traumatic event—nearly being assaulted—and instead of getting actual therapeutic support, she gets handed a matchmaking card. Because, of course, what better way to heal than by jumping into a relationship with a man who wants full control over your life? Totally healthy coping strategy.
I did feel a genuine softness for Bitty. I get the desire to let go, to feel protected, to rest your mind in someone else’s hands. But this story takes that desire and runs so far with it that we end up in some questionable territory. Clay isn’t just protective—he’s possessive. There’s a difference between caring for someone and controlling them, and this book didn’t seem interested in drawing that line.
Yes, the relationship is consensual. Yes, Clay is clear about his expectations. But at what point does “dominant” tip over into “domineering”? The dynamic felt less like a spicy power play and more like a one-sided power grab. It’s not a healthy sub/dom setup with emotional depth—it’s more like “here’s your life-sized obedient girlfriend doll with trauma backstory included.”
And don’t even get me started on the therapist’s role in this. The idea that someone would recommend a matchmaking service to a woman coping with near-assault felt… wildly irresponsible. Therapy should empower, not redirect vulnerability into dependency.
In the end, Jock left me more uncomfortable than entertained. If you’re looking for a quick read with a very specific kind of romance, maybe this will work for you. But if you’re expecting emotional nuance, actual spice, or character growth—you might want to keep swiping.
This is DEFINITELY one of my faves from this series!!!
I should've known that Tamrin Banks was gonna bring the receipts with this book. I mean when has she not? I love an alpha male! And Clay was every bit 💯percent an alpha. But he needed a soulmate that he could control and love completely in and out of the bedroom. And shy Bitty was looking for a special man who could take over so she could just be and not worry about everything. In essence she was everything Clay wanted and needed. Now you know every story has to have some drama. But I loved the drama in this book! And the passion, steamy sex, the chemistry between Clay and Bitty was soooo good. But my faves are the 2 epilogues. This had me crying. Yes, it was THAT good. I'm definitely reading this book over again. A must read. You will not be disappointed.
Clay is looking for a special woman in his life. The women who come to his gym are not what he wants. His friend gives him a card for a matchmaking agency and tells him only to use it when he knows what he wants. Bitty is almost done with college. She is uncertain of many things. Her therapist gives her a card to the same matchmaking agency. They are matched. When they meet, they have to decide if this is right for them. Will it be a good match for each?
I enjoyed this story. It was too short. I would like to see more plot development. I liked the characters. I could understand where both were coming from. I liked that Clay took control of Bitty and her life. On her own, she had problems and no one to turn to for help. When she is threatened again, Clay is there for her. I can see them growing together.

Trigger warnings Attempted SA Utter control of female Violence on mfc
Clay wants a tiny doll with curves. His friend gives him THE BLACK CARD. Bitty is about to graduate from college. She NEEDS someone who will take control. The meeting between them was almost violent, in the best of ways. Will she give over control? Will her past catch up to her?
The absolute control he craves might be off-putting to some. It works in the story, but real life doesn't work that way. This is one of those red flag things. It works in books, but not in life.
Clay is demanding, domineering and determined to kill Bitty with pleasure! Death by orgasm.....what a way to go! But Clay knows exactly what Bitty needs, wants and craves, and she is more than happy to hand all control over to him. A short and sexy novella which I read on Kindle Unlimited.
I am just loving these little novellas of the KNK Matchmaking Agency. This one is another winner. Clay and Bitty really light up the pages as they find each other and display their most intense desires. He’s such a big, brawny control freak and Bitty loves it. They’re perfectly matched.
What an exciting story about a young woman who has lost her spirit, courage, and her confidence. Now joining KNK, sh finds herself someone who has her best interest at heart ❤️. Beautiful story.
Another perfect match from the KNK matchmaking agency. Human, shifter or any other paranormal being find their match here. I can't wait to read more HEAs in the rest of this series.
