I suppose it'll never happen, but this really should be brought back into print. Jannach's 'German for Reading' is now the standard, and it's terrible. By the time you're through with Sandberg, you've already read sections of Faust, selections from Spengler and Kant and Jaspers and Jung... and so forth. So, get this from a library and save yourself the eighty bucks it costs to get the other german for reading books.

nice educational book. especially texts about Freud and Hitler.

Really good. The textbook focuses on reading comprehension only, but throws you into the deep end pretty quickly with authentic passages. It should provide you around an intermediate reading fluency with the caveat that your vocabulary may be limited. I really enjoyed Sandberg's method.

First language textbook I have worked through from beginning to end. Very helpful for learning the basics for reading German with a good selection of readings. Sometimes explanations of grammatical issues are a little convoluted, but for the most part it is clear and helpful.
