I will never get enough of Sherrilyn Kenyon she will always be at the top of the list where authors are concerned for me. In this short I like how she incorporates writing as an author. I thought the story was going to be predictable but it wasn't.

She is the only one to make me believe that a gorgeous handsome man with the most perfect esthetic's be interested in the regular girl next door type or even the plump girl type. I love the tormented hero that is every bit vulnerable to the outcome of falling in love. Which makes them perfect lovers because right off the page they feel with every bit of intensity of the reader.

It just astounds me and I always have a big sigh at the end of her books and shorts cause they are just so full of every kind of emotion. That I feel worn out in a good way.

I will continue to read everything that she has ever written.

I am so glad I've re-read this book. I've owned for many years, vaguely recalling that I read it after buying. I loved all the touching and heartwarming stories.

Knightly Dreams by Sherrilyn Kenyon *****
Just adorable. Taryn is having a hard day then steps into a book shop. The owner gives her a book. Then Sparhawk from the book appears in her bed. He's looking for acceptance and love. He thinks he's found it in Taryn. The bookshop owner, Esther is more than she appears to be at first look. Esther gets Taryn to write again and Taryn writes Sparhawk into her life. I loved this book. A quick and quirky paranormal romance story.

Shattered Dreams by Rebecca York
Great love story about a gypsy boy, Caleb Mancuso and the daughter of a US colonel, Miranda Grove. They grow up together, but neithers parents want them together and arrange for them to stop seeing each other. 8 years later Caleb connects back with Miranda during a car collision. Using his psychic abilities Caleb is hell bent to save Miranda and find out who is trying to kill her. Very well written. The story draws you right in. And of course boy gets the girl.

The Road of Adventure by Robin D. Owens
Another cat romance story by Owens. That Boris was a scamp. Ha, I can imagine a cat behaving exactly like Boris. Of course the story centered around Jake, a cop and Shauna, a landscaper. How the missed each other the first time around, dying and gettimg a second chance. It was Boris, the cat that I enjoyed moat though. I love cat stories!

Knightly Dreams - 2.5
While I had not read anything from the other authors before, I expected more from Sherrilyn Kenyon. This was published around the same time as my favorite Dark Hunter novel NIGHT PLAY, but the writing was subpar and the story itself mediocre. It’s almost like it was written by someone else.

Shattered Dreams - 0
I’ve never read anything by Rebecca York before and I will not again. This story was all over the place and repeatedly gave me the ick. Your girl is in an explained coma? Let’s reminisce about sexual exploits when you were teenagers. You’re in a construct in her mind, but she doesn’t know that? Let’s jump her metaphysical bones. This was just a big no for me. I stopped on page 109 and went on to the next story.

Road of Adventure - 0
Again, I have not read anything by Robin D. Owen’s before this story. DNF stopped on page 181.

Overall, this anthology was a big miss for me. Total = less than 1 star (.8)

Three quite different paranormal romances. First one, by Sherrilyn Kenyon is about a knight that finds himself written into modern day, but sucked back to an unhappy existence in his old time, before a modern woman writes him a new life.
Second story is by a different author and is about a gypsy man who must help a woman in a coma.
Third is by a third author, and is about a man and woman who die, but are given a second chance at life.....together. Oh, nd there is an angel cat.....little wings and a crown and everthing!

Good reads.

This was described as a “futuristic romance.” Had originally been looking for Richard Matheson’s book by the same title. Ah, this is what I needed a light, breezy read after my previous book . Consists of 3 stories. First one kinda-like a non-musical ENCHANTED—far-fetched but fun. Second & third ones were OK.

Knightly Dreams - Sherrilyn Kenyon - 4/5 - Not as good as her Dark Hunter stuff, but an enjoyable little story. Taryn is unhappy in life and a "witch" gives her a book with a handsome knight on the cover. Sparhawk is a medieval knight who is unhappy with his own story and wants his outcome to change - so he visits the witch who sends him to Taryn (in present day). He has 7 days to make her fall in love with him or back into his story he goes. This was a unique take on things because it seems that Sparhawk recognizes that he is real, but from a story and it has a touch of Plato's cave analogy to it - are Taryn and Sparhawk part of someone else's book?

Shattered Dreams - Rebecca York - 3/5 - Caleb and Miranda haven't seen each other since they were teenagers in love and Miranda broke his heart and left him. Then he has a psychic vision of her in trouble. While she's in a coma he enters her dreams psychically in order to save her and rekindle what they'd lost. I like this sort of story, with the action taking place in someone's mind. It is pretty suspenseful and the romance is really cute, but sometimes the writing is a bit juvenile.

The Road of Adventure - Robin D. Owens - 2/5 - I guess it's an okay story. I've never seen this particular concept done ina romance novel before. Jake and Shauna die but should have gotten together in their lifetime, so they're given a second chance. This time around they'll have to take risks, open up to people and make a go of a relationship. I have to say I wasn't a fan of the characters - any of them. I didn't feel the chemistry or the love between the characters...it all felt rather forced.

I came across this book at a library book sale, and picked it up specifically for the short story by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I really enjoyed this set of three short stories! I love SK's story, Knightly Dreams, and thought it was a different take on a time traveling story. I love the idea of heroes and heroines come to life from the pages of a book! And that we can indeed write our own life stories. I was not overly impressed with the second story, Shattered Dreams by Rebecca York. I like the idea of dream walkers, but thought the narrative jumped around too much from character to character. Still, you did get a good sense of the characters, especially Caleb, even though it is a short story. I had not read anything by Robin D. Owens before, and was pleasantly surprised with her story, The Road of Adventure. I just LOVE the idea of cats that watch out for the humans while on Earth, so they can earn their wings. I love the characters, Jake and Shauna, and thought they were both well developed and dimensional. I plan on looking for other work by this author.

ANH!

Not so hot.

Sherrilyn Kenyon~ This was the same story I've reasd in other anthologies where the knight travels through time to awaken in bed with a woman in presen time after she had gone to a book store, met an old woman & read a romance book. He has 7 days to get her to love him.

Rebecca York~ Psychic man has vision of an old flame getting int a wreck. She ends up in a coma & he connects with her in her coma world to save her from someone trying to kill her.

Robin D. Owen~ A new author for me. I was kind of surprised that it was a decent story! Now I'm looking her up to see how she fairs outside an anthology!

All in all, it kind of seemed outdated. Cover was cheesy in my version. Dude on cover not so hot at all. looked like a guy I know which is creepy! Super fast read!

"Knightly Dreams" by Sherrilyn Kenyon
This was my second favorite of the three, chosen for the laugh-out-loud factor, plus extra bonus points for the writer's fantasy of allowing the character to write her own ending.

"Shattered Dreams" by Rebecca York
The dreamscapes in this novella, about the son of a Gypsy fortuneteller who enters the dreams of his comatose love, were beautiful and surreal and everything you want to remember when you wake up from your own dreams. A true gem of a story.

"Road of Adventure" by Robin D. Owens
I loved this story, about a hard-nosed cop who can't love and a New Age landscaper who are given one last chance to redeem their souls by an angel and a ghost cat named Boris upon their untimely deaths.

Three magical romances. First, a depressed modern woman finds a fictional white knight in her bed after a strange encounter with an elderly bookstore owner. Can she rewrite his story to give them a happy ending? Second, Caleb gets a vision of Miranda being forced off the road and near death. His gypsy psychic ability is needed to enter her coma state and bring her back, while trying to find out who is out to kill her. Third, Jake, a shallow cop, Shauna, a risk phobic florist, and Boris, a feral cat with an unfulfilled mission all die and are made aware of their failures. Each is given one more chance to get things right. All three stories had interesting premises. I felt Caleb and Miranda's was the weakest, but still enjoyable.

3 short stories in 1 book. 1st story was good and would have liked seen the story develop much more. 2nd story was just ok and the 3rd didn't really do much for me. The draw was the 1st story the others were not very well developed and felt somewhat teenish in the way the love interest developed vs. more adult. It was a struggle for me to get through the last story. I do like Kenyon's books so that was the draw.

I'm really surprised, and not in a good way.

Of course, I bought this book because of Sherrilyn Kenyon and it being an anthology of magical romances.
Kenyon's story is, unfortunately, not her best. It's not bad but there's something missing. Normally, that wouldn't bother me because with this being an anthology, there are other stories for me to read. But it turned out that I couldn't stand them.

Knightly Dreams S.Kenyon 3of 5
Shattered Dreams R. York 5 of 5
Road of Adventure 1 of 5

I got this book based on the fact I like S. Kenyon and R. York. I had already read Shattered Dreams (it is a 43 Light St story) and I liked S. Kenyon's story. I could not get into Owens story. I will however consider her in another anthology. I won't, just yet, look for her titles single.

I was very disappointed! I hadn't realized that this was a compilation of three short stories but I quickly found that out after the first story. It wouldn't have been so bad if at least one of the stories was a little good but they were all cheesy and I feel like I wasted my time. I'm so ready to find a book that'll get my reading-mojo going again!

This is actually a book of 3 short stories. The first is Knightly Dreams by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I would swear I have read it before so I am putting it in here so I won't "forget" that I read it. It is a good story, a quick read, kind of a fun concept mixing current and historical.

I read the first story - Knightly Dreams by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I really liked it. It was funny and sweet and you really wanted the characters to be together. I don't have anything negative to say about any of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books. I loved each one I have read so far.

3 short stories. I liked the first story and wished it was a full length book, second was ok, 3rd I really did not like at all. The only thing i could think of with these stories were cheese. Lots of cheese!

I liked the first story in the book more so than the next two. In the middle story, I had a hard time caring about either of the main characters. The final story had too pat a resolution. The hero was a jerk, and I didn't see why the heroine would stay with him.

The Kenyon story is not bad, but not one of her best. The other two are good reads but certainly not brilliant. Worth reading if you can lay your hands on a copy but I wouldn't go out and buy it.
