Edition limited to 1200 numbered copies. First publication of three writings from Twain otherwise known as Samuel Clemens , each with an extended introduction by Dixon Wecter 1906-1950 . At this time, Wecter was chairman of the Huntington Library 's permanent research staff and was literary editor of the Mark Twain estate. The book features a classic photograph of Twain as its frontispiece. The exterior of this copy shows minor wear and soiling. There is a crack at the rear upper joint, about two inches long, which involves only the surface paper. The only blemish on the interior is where the stamp of a previous owner has been crossed out on the front free endpaper. vi , 32 pages. paper-covered boards. small 8vo.
