I really wanted to read this book simply because I had to find out WHY he couldn't race. I had no problems purchasing the ebook since each purchase benefit two organizations I feel strongly about. I immediately scrolled through to figure it out and I sort of got the gist of it, but ... it doesn't really grip you until you read the whole story.

I read through the first few chapters thinking it would be a so-so novel. Boy was I wrong. First, I will say that there were some typos, I didn't think that it was particularly well written, and I felt as if most of it was like reading someones blog or even their diary. But then this strange thing kept happening to me:

I couldn't put the thing down! I found myself being sad and even a little angry that Aaron Rose wasn't a real person. I actually shed tears as I got closer to the end, moved by the emotion of the story--until the conclusion, where I was completely blown away. I hate to leave a book with this feeling that's somewhere between utter shock, disappointment, and that feeling you get when someone pulls a good prank on you, but some of the most brilliant novels I've read have ended in this manner. It's like the author laughing and saying, "Gotcha!" A story well told, and with some really great twists.

I would definitely recommend this novel to anyone with a serious interest in motorcycle racing, especially fans of MotoGP. I don't think it would have been as intriguing to me if I wasn't moderately obsessed with the sport. However, I could see this being enjoyed by anyone who likes a dreamy, euphoric story with a good surprise plot twist.
