Either I didn't get a lot of theory in my master's in education or it didn't stick, so I'm trying to make up for some lost time. This was a good primer to get started.

I'm actually shocked that I liked this book enough to give it 5 stars. It's eye-opening to me to see the many consistencies in educational philosophy across time, with a relatively fewer number of differences. The book does not directly address the educational issues of our time, but is clear even to me that our "modern" educational system in America needs a lot of work and has lost its way. Excellent, thought-provoking book!
