"Justin" by Allyson James. Book 6 in the Tales of the Shareem series.
I loved this book! It's a sci-fi erotica romance but I think it was more romantic than all the other books in the series. It definitely had a more playful mood to it between the characters of Justin, a level two Shareem (into playful sex stuff like light bondage, games and toys), and Deanna, a patroller (basically a cop).
I found this book lighter on the erotica side than the other books. Or maybe I should say it was more playful and sensual. Light bondage, partner voyeurism, sex toys and m/f sex are all present throughout this story. No menage in this one which surprised me because menages were in all the other books. But this couple, Justin and Deanna, have a more romantic feel to them because a lot of the story line has nothing to do with them sexually.
The nonsexual story line of this book is Justin wanting to see his long lost daughter and finding her mother. He's been living on another planet for 25 years and has come back to Bor Narga for just that reason. But how can he protect his daughter if the patrollers are always getting in his way! Especially, sexy patroller, Deanna. Deanna can't understand why Justin keeps breaking the law and won't say why. Now he may be the reason Deanna loses a promotion and she can't let that happen. She needs the money to help her mother. Can she clear her name if she learns Justin's secrets? Or will their mutual attraction put them both in a cell?
Loved the story line in this book! I really loved the characters of Deanna and Justin. Very different from all the other characters in that their backgrounds are much different. This book has a lot more substance to it with the motivation of the characters which I really enjoyed. It gave Justin and Deanna more realism. I did notice that no other new Shareem were introduced in this book (in all the other books, a new Shareem was always introduced) so I'm hoping this is not the end of this series because there is an open series story line arc that is not finished. (**NOTE** I looked it up, there is, at the time of this review, one more full novel and a prequel novella)
This one is my favourite book of the series (so far!) and I can't wait to read the next one!
