I wouldn't really recommend this book for kids based on the format. I understand it is designed in a dictionary-like format (with the term, pronunciation, definition etc.), but I think this organizational structure makes reading the book boring and, even worse, harder for students to comprehend the material. I would recommend a book on dinosaurs that has subsections that helps ease kids into understanding different aspects about dinosaurs (subsections like: when did they live? and include a timeline of the different periods; where did they live? include maps and ideas about Pangaea; what did dinosaurs eat? and then define the terms carnivorous, herb..etc) Just not my favorite book because of the dictionary format. Who likes reading a dictionary? LOL
A good junior dictionary with a brief summary of many dinosaurs, including pronunciation, the translation of their name, any defining characteristics, their suspected diet, and the era in which they lived. The cover picture is not shown here but it displays four well-drawn dinosaurs of various types. The pictures in the book are much lower quality and several are nothing more than lumpy generic creatures that look as though drawn by the artist's wrong hand.
