Leitura para a tese de doutorado. O autor de The Texture of Culture: An Introduction to Yuri Lotman's Semiotic Theory, Aleksei Semenenko traz uma maravilhosa introdução às ideias sobre a semiótica da cultura de Iúri Lotman. Este pensador da linguística, de origem russa, foi um dos fundadores da Escola de Semiótica de Tártu-Moscou. Ele introduziu diversas formas inovadoras de entender como a cultura funciona. No livro, o autor aborda as ideias de Lotman para analisar cultura como sistema, a cultura como texto, a semiosfera, uma de suas mais originais ideias e, por fim, a mente universal. A semiótica da cultura é um forma de análise teórica que ajuda a pensar a formação desse sistema como algo construído pela memória e que, assim como ela, está em constante mutação. Repito, uma ótima introdução para quem quer saber mais sobre semiótica da cultura. Quisera tivéssemos uma edição destas em português, já que é difícil encontrar materiais sobre Lotman em nossa língua.

A very well organised book about Lotman's concept of semiotics. It elaborates not only his ideas in the most understandable way possible, but also it makes a conversation with ideas of other personalities of this field. I especially enjoyed chapter 3 and 5.
