Hilarie N. Staton has been writing children's books for many years. She has worked for historical museums, as well as written state history textbooks and tests. Her first major history work was a two-volume United States history textbook. She has written books about American political movements and historic sites. Although she grew up in the west, loving western history, she now lives in the heart of Colonial America, New York's Hudson Valley.
