Seduction’s Shift is book two in The Shadow Shifters series by A.C. Arthur. Each book in this series is about a different couple but also caries a main theme throughout so it would be better to read the books in order.
This book centers on one of Rome’s second in command, Dominick (Nick) Delgado and Ary, a healer that grew up in a remote village in the Brazilian rain forest.
Nick and Ary had been watching each other, flirting, both still teenagers. Ary was already training to be a healer, her future forever tied to the village. When the relationship between Nick and Ary crossed a line, the parents of both thought it best if Nick went away. And he did. But neither ever forgot the other. You see, both are jaguar shifters, a member of the Shadow Shifters. In their village it is believed that there is one fated mate intended for each of them. Both Nick and Ary knew that is what they were. But that didn’t stop Nick from doing what he was told was best, leaving.
Now it is sixteen years later. Ary has been kidnapped. Nick and his leader, Rome and several others have flown out from where they live in the states to help to rescue Ary. Their reunion is not the romantic reunion one might imagine. Ary is furious. Nick left her, never to be heard from again, sixteen long years ago.
When it becomes evident that those that Ary should have been able to trust to protect her were the ones that put her in danger all along, Nick takes Ary back to his home in Washington, D.C. But, the dangerous man responsible for her abduction, Saber Tavares, is also back in the states.

Saber is an evil power hungry rogue shifter. He wants to control both the shifter world and the human world. He will do whatever it takes to accomplish both, killing what or who ever gets in his way. He needed Ary to help him with a synthetic drug he is trying to create. Now that he has lost her, he’s just mad, and he will get his revenge.
I really loved this one. Nick and Ary steamed up the pages. Shifters have a very amorous nature. Ary spent her life under the strict thumb of her father, dictating her life. Nick is kind of an angry, over bearing man. He wants to protect Ary but she is fighting against him every step of the way. She just got out from under her father’s thumb, now Nick wants to rule her life? Nick can’t get her to seem to understand how much danger she is in but Ary just wants freedom. As much as I loved these two and understood where Ary was coming from, her continued persistence in fighting Nick’s attempts to keep her safe did get on my nerves a little bit. But as the book progresses, you can see her adjusting to her new life and to Nick. And at the same time, see Nick easing up and trying harder to understand Ary’s needs.
There is plenty of intense action in this one as well as Saber tries time and time again to take down Rome, Nick, and their mates. In this book we also see the birth of Havenway, the new compound which will house the shifters.
I can’t wait for the next book, Passion’s Prey, as we will get to know Rome’s other second in command, Xavier, and Nick’s sister, Caprise, who has obviously been keeping secrets. The fight to stop the evil Saber will continue. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

A. C. Arthur ha creado un mundo exótico y atractivo, y si bien es cierto que su historia tiene parecido con otras tantas (por el tema de los cambiantes), creo que la autora ha sabido ponerle su sello distintivo y, sobre todo, logra que esta resulte muy entretenida y te deje con ganas de más. Seducción letal es una lectura ligera que se lee en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Tiene mucha acción, suspense y romance, tres ingredientes bien combinados que dan como resultado una historia con la que pasar un par de tardes entretenidas.

Book Review-Seduction's Shift Summary
Ary is a natural born healer, and has dedicated her time to helping her tribe. Ary is a member of a shifter clan in the jungles. When she finds herself kidnapped by a enemy, Saber, she knows that she needs to find a way to escape. He wants her for reasons he won’t reveal, and she knows its only a matter of time before her situation will become worse. She also finds that her own father has been working with Saber for years, and has betrayed her to him. Nick Delgado is second in command, and when he learns that Ary his unclaimed mate, has been kidnapped from one of their most brutal enemies…he will do anything to find her, he just hopes to find her in time. Nick and Ary were kept apart years previous, and now they are brought together by a enemy, a enemy that is out to destroy the lives of both humans and shifters alike, and he will stop at nothing to perfect his drug…a drug that is harmful to many.
The Hero
Nick was born a powerful shifter, and he is smart and cunning, and has had to be. When he was merely nineteen years old, he found Ary, his mate, but his parents and her parents kept them apart, and he has never forgiven his parents for that. He was yougn and foolish when he left her, but knew he would come back for her. Nick’s parents are dead now via a car accident, and he takes care of his family that he has left. Nick is a natural leader, and stands by his friends and those that protect their kind at all costs. He is driven to protect no matter what. What I adored about Nick is his devil may care attitude. He doesn’t apologize and doesn’t treat others with nothing but respect, he is pure alpha male though and has such has certain “tendacies” to possess, he comes across as controlling at times, but with the dangers surrounding them, its more about protecting those he loves. He is one sexy male…and whew I could keep reading him.
The Heroine
Ary is a strong healer, passionate and fiery. She stands on her own, and fights her own battles and is tired of living under her fathers dictates and commands. She craves for freedom and to make her own decisions. The day she is kidnapped…it changes her life, because that one event brings her closer to her fated mate, the one male that left and abandoned her when she needed him the most. Now she is stronger than ever, and stubborn as a mule, but she also realizes the danger of Saber and what he is capable of. What I really admired about Ary is standing up to the men, most especially Nick. She doesn’t let him run over her, no door mat this heroine, she is fierce in her desire to live her own life, but I also liked how she knew which battles to fight and which ones to back down from. I wasn’t sure at the beginning how much I would like her, but as the story developed I grew to love her even more…and boy was she a riot of fun at times.
Plot and Story Line
Seductions Shift is a story that I wouldn’t recommend as a stand alone. From what I can tell, this series is connected, and even though you could read it out of order, you might get a bit lost especially at the beginning if you haven’t read the first book. At the end of the first book, Ary gets kidnapped. The beginning of Seduction’s Shift is the rescue and trying to destroy Saber. Saber is one sick creature, oh man, did I want him to die in this one. I mean he has a temper, he was taken as a boy by a man more evil than him, and corrupted, and now there is nothing redeemable about it any longer. We see two sides of the plot in this story. It is written in third person (Thank goodness), but we also have a few times where it switches to Saber and his “plans”. The focus of the story is Nick and Ary reconnecting and trying to work out mistrust and past hurts and betrayals, and all the while trying to bring Saber down. There is a bit of a powerful mystery aspect in play here, and we have some truths revealed, and a hint of the next couple in the next book. Oh I can just see a explosion of tempers going to explode soon. What I want to focus on is the love story. They definitely have no problems in the “sexual activities” in their relationship….it is fiery HOT!! But we also see a centered focus on them rebuilding their relationship, learning to love and trust again. I loved the tension that builds between them and the interactions…especially in the beginning, is quite hilarious, because really…they need lessons in communicating effectively. But they eventually learn…just takes quite a bit of time to accomplish. But what fun I had with this pair.

Me encanto esta segunda parte. Todo el misticismo que los envuelve a todos y la unión que tienen me encanta.
Sigue el misterio que guarda Baxter, el que todo lo sabe.
Nick todo un encanto, todo el aumento en cuanto volvio a ver a Ary, al principio me molesto que no se diera cuenta que el solo trataba de protegerla, pero viendo el ambiente en que creció se entiende que no quiera que se repita la historia.
Caprice que dolor de cabeza que es, y que gran secreto ocultará a todos es la intriga, y porque esa perpetua provocación con Xavier, otro que es todo un misterio, ya quiero leer mas...
Sigue el misterio que guarda Baxter, el que todo lo sabe.

IMHO...book two is NOT as good as book one...Nick and Ary just don't seem to have that same love connection as Kalina and Rome...the CONSTANT verbal sparring is very FRUSTRATING...almost ANNOYING at times...although there's LOADS of sexual chemistry...they have MAJOR issues connecting on any other level...I also found the dialogue throughout a bit stilted...it just didn't have the same flow as the first book...that being said...once AGAIN the action and suspense is on point...and the full cast is COLORFUL...so I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to the third book...based on the preview of Passion's Prey the FIRE between X and Caprise is going to be OFF-THE-HOOK (at least I hope)...and I can't wait to see how the over-protective and EXTREMELY hot-headed Nick Delgado handles a romance between one of his best friends and his baby sister...that EXCITING little peek definitely gives me something to look forward to!

I did not enjoy this book as much as I did the first in this series, there was more sex which made the book more sexy but the dialogue was dry to me. I really wanted to like this book because I thought the first book was so good but this one just fell flat for me. I have a feeling the next book will be the best at least I hope so.This author is one of my favorites but this book is not.

Honestly I just couldn't connect with Nick at all. He was such an asshole for most of the book. Ugh.
I can't wait for Xavier and Caprise's story next. I'm just hoping that X isn't the pompous ass that Nick is. All his macho bullshit pissed me off.

Si te gustó el primer libro con la historia de Rome, te va a gustar adentrarte en la vida de Nick, conocer un poco más de él y todo lo que le rodea.
El libro anterior cierra con los protagonistas en la jungla, en el lugar más recondito del Amazonas, lugar donde empieza este segundo libro. Rome y Kalina están allí donde se unen en matrimonio y pasan su "noche de bodas." Sin embargo, Nick se reencuentra con su primer y único amor, la razón por la que nunca ha vuelto a tener una relación seria -cliché o qué-.
Con forme el autor nos va contando algo más sobre el pasado de estos dos; la sensación que me daba era de que iba a ser la típica historia de amor prohibido entre ambos, pero no cuento más que al final acabo haciendo spoiler.
Sabar secuestra a Ary puesto que ella conoce como la palma de su mano todas las plantas que crecen en el Amazonas, sin embargo, su interés se centra en una en especial. Ella se niega a colaborar con él y menos aún cuando descubre todo el complot (si es que se puede llamar así) que hay detrás de los planes de Sabar.
El libro continúa con la aparición de la hermana de Nick, muchos problemas, drogas y pequeñas sorpresas que equilibran el drama. Además, este libro va dejando migajas de la relación que tienen la hermana de Nick y Xavier; puesto que parece que tienen una disputa interna, un tira y afloja que nunca se acaba. Por lo que se puede ver por donde irá encaminado el siguiente libro.

Si el primero me gustó, este me ha fascinado. Conocemos un poquito más de este mundo de los shadow shifters y los misterios que los rodean. Sus orígenes, sociedad y por supuesto el nuevo orden que parece estar forjándose en EE.UU. Me han encantado los dos protas de esta historia, aunque he de decir que X me tiene muerta de curiosidad y que quiero saber mucho más de él, así como de la hermana de Nick.
Odio a Sabar con todo mi corazón, es malo, ruin y está completamente loco, como una puñetera cabra. Parece mentira hasta dónde es capaz de llegar solo para hacerse control del mundo (aunque debo decir que este plan de supervillano me recuerda a los dibujos animados que veía de pequeña y al cerebro feo que quería dominarlo todo jajaja).
Lo he pasado muy bien con la lectura, así que la recomiendo a todos los entusiastas de los cambiantes, especialmente los amantes de los gatos.
Para repetir, sin duda. ¡Me alegra mucho haberlo comprado en papel! Ya tiene un lugar privilegiado en mi estantería.

Love feline shifters and this has become one of my favorite shifter PNR series. Must be read in order. Ary and Nick loved these two. He is over protective and was amazing visualize him in his Jaguar form kicking butt to protect his mate. The angst was perfect.

I'll admit it - I found this book in a neighborhood Little Free Library and though it looked like an ordinary romance novel... a breezy break for my pandemic-weary brain. It is that, but OMG, friends, it is ALSO full of very explicit sex.
I mean, for real.

Really enjoyed the story of Nick and Ary. The continued development of the characters and a surprise villain kept the story interesting. Can’t wait to read the next installment.

Woohoo! I was so excited to get this book and read it. I loved A.C. Arthur’s first book in this series, TEMPTATION RISING, and I couldn’t wait to jump into this one! Once again, Ms. Arthur has truly proven amazing in her paranormal romance skills. She blends the perfect amount of romance with a suspenseful plot line, the hot shifting jaguars, and the women who love them.
Sabar Tavres is a fabulously created character! A true villian in all sense of the word, and really adds the suspenseful elements to the story. Kidnapping is his game and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. The intensity of his character really pulled me into the heart of the story. Though I didn’t like this villainous ways, I loved his character in the story for he really needed to be portrayed that way he was to make the story round out.
Aryiola “Ary” Seriono is a healer and a wonderfully created one at that! I felt her emotions and her struggles as if they were my own. The heart pounding intensity was added when she worked against Sabar to gain her freedom. Following her story and becoming her for a time, was an awesome experience! She’s an independent woman and one that will steal your heart quickly!
Dominick ‘Nick’ Delgado is powerful man. He’s a jaguar shifter, and Roman Reynolds’ business partner. And he’s longed for one woman, his mate, for years. When his mate’s life is compromised, following him on his mission of saving her was full of twists, turns, ups and downs of a paranormal roller coaster ride!
SEDUCTION’S SHIFT is a wonderful installment to this amazing series! I love it! We get glimpses of Roman and Kalina (yay! Totally loved them in book 1!), and we get another intense plot line. This joy ride is one that you don’t want to miss. It’s intense, sexy and oh-so-sizzling! Each page turn brought something new, and by the end, I was not looking forward to saying goodbye. I wanted it to go on and on. I am looking forward the third installment, PASSION’S PREY, Xavier’s story. Well done, once again, Ms. Arthur!!

This book is action, one type or another, from page one. It is well written and entertaining from beginning to end. I highly recommend it and will read it again. It is part 2 of the series, but is a good read alone book also.

OMG!!!!! Seduction Shift is an excellent book. Can we say HOT!!!!!!!!!!!HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!HOT!!!!!!!!!!!! Nick and Ary story was great. In this book AC explained why Nick was so angry and I am so happy that Nick and Ary finally reunite. The book was told very well. You can see the closeness of the 3 best friends Roman, Nick, and X and when she introduces Nick's baby sister and her personality it was funny. You will feel the intense heat in Nick and Ary relationship. I can't wait for X's book.

PNR with emphasis on the R - lots of headboard banging in this one. The're always some anal play- I'm always squinting wondering there must be someone who is turned on by that- EWE! so the girls have anuses or rear entrance- of course they all love it- the sex is always great even when it's going up the hershey highway. So there are anuses but no poop and if there is aroma, it's so sweet and sexy it will make the man so hard his dick hurts as it strains against the zipper of his jeans..

Well done! Shadow Shifters is a series that you want to read. You can connect with teh characters and it is very nice that they are present in the both books. I wish the series was already written, I like to start at the begining and keep reading. I guess I will have to read it again after AC has written a few more.

First off this is a new aurthor for me so i shouldnt put much pressure on the first book but... this one is the SHiZZz. Love it. I didnt like the first one so i was skeptical about reading the second one but i put that aside and read it and loved it. Cant wait for your next book Ms. Arthur.

I gave this one 5 stars because it was really pretty good. This book gave us more insight about the shifters and where they came from. The chemistry between Nick and Ary was awesome. Nick needed some anger management classes though, because he got pissed off quit often and he would just take things to another level. Glad things worked out between him and Ary. Great read.

Nicky, Nicky- sexy jungle romps are so in your future. Ary and him make a reat couple and the 2nd book in the Shadow Shifters brings more interesting developments to explore for this great new world. I am excited to see what Caprice and X's book open us up to in number three.

2.7 stars. I just can't seem to connect with these books as I'd like. Some of their reasoning reads more convenient than true to me - I hate that - forcing plot. There's still a lot of explanations/tutoring and the voice of the story seems unnatural somehow.

I normally love AC Arthur, but the second in this series, just moved really slow. It was almost a repeat of the first. And there were huge disconnects between Nick and Ary. To much repeat, I don't want this, but yet I do.

This one was so much better then the first and I enjoyed the first. This one moved faster and flowed better. The characters had so much spark and loved that things weren't easy for them. Rainforest novels are always interesting and fun to read. The adventure was amazing. Very good second part :)

This book was off I just could not get into it. I am done with the series because the next book does not seem worth it.
