[Siren Everlasting Classic Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, vampires, shape-shifters, HEA] Dudley has been taught that shifters are savage beasts that will sooner tear out a vampire's throat than mate them. He was also taught that shifters would rather let vampires starve than feed them. When he discovers his father has lied to him his whole life, Dudley starts chasing after his mate. Sloane Brac has been very patient with Dudley, coaxing the vampire gently into their mating—until Dudley calls a hit down on his head. He feels he can never forgive the man, but then Dudley shows up at his newly purchased home in a panic. Sloane forgives his vampire and tries to start a new life with him, but Dudley's brothers show up to finish what they started…or so he thinks. Can Sloane convince Dudley that their mating is something sacred to him, or will Dudley run in the other direction when his father comes to exact his revenge against the wolf for claiming his son? Each book in Lynn Hagen's Brac Pack collection focuses on a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, we recommend reading the series in sequential order. ** A Siren Erotic Romance
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
This was book 26 in the "Brac pack"series. We first met these two in book 22 when Tater was walking home when he meets Dudley they meet a wolf who turns out to be Sloane Brac who is Maverick's cousin. Dudley grew up being told that shifters would kill him and eat him by his father who looks down on everyone and he is a vampire so when he finds out that Sloane is a vampire he panics and calls his brothers to come take care of it he puts a hit out on his mates. Sloane can't believe that his mate would want him dead he decides it is time for him to move on so he buys a house to get away from the den and all the mated couples. After talking to Pa, Dudley realizes that not all shifters are bad and that it is ok to have one as a mate he tries to get his mate to talk to him in the last book he chained himself to Sloane's bed. After being on a depression kick of not eating he goes for a walk in the woods were he runs into Sloane and they talk when he goes into the house he gets a call form his father and he goes to warn Sloane that his father is coming to kill him. Dudley who is accident prone including while trying to bake a cake he almost burns the house down he also speaks before thinking and although these two have sex Sloane doesn't claim him he knows his mate is holding back he wants to get to know the real Dudley. This was a good read although I didn't like the rat problem they had. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I love reading this series
3rd Reading 1-5-15 I actually liked this more this time. Sloane really grew on me. I liked his actions and his reasons on why he did or didn't do something.
2nd read Juune 2014 D!
First read 11-8-13 I love D :) Sloane had to grow on me, but D on caffeine was great.
I thought this was a good read. I have read the entire series and I find this is pretty much par for the course for the series. It is funny in some parts, and then touching in others. I love the fact that Ms Hagen is continuing to introduce new characters along the way. These are easy, quick feel good reads for me, but they are very addictive. The spinoff series (Zeus' Pack and Christian's Coven)are also very entertaining. I would recommend these books highly. Dudley and Sloane have been doing this push-pull for a few books now in the series. The many questions I had about why Dudley would reject his mate were more than answered and I also got to see another side to Dudley. Sloane was understandably holding Dudley at arms length at the beginning. Once our two characters started talking, everything got worked out. It was also nice to see Dudley find his spine near the end of the book. I do like how these books get the story line all wrapped up at the end, but then BAM look at this new wrinkle... THE END. Very smart, and always keeps me coming back for more.
Back to the pairing of wolves in this volume - and we finally get Sloane's story as well as Dudley's.
Dudley is one accident-prone vampire who was on the run from his father and carried more prejudice against shifters than is healthy. After having seen not all shifters are monsters, he has revised his stance and wants nothing more than for his mate to claim him.
Sloane has been through the wringer - first his mate outright rejected him, now Dudley is trying to chase him down. I can't blame Sloane for being a bit hesitant, especially since Dudley has so many self-image issues. Sloane wisely focuses on getting rid of them first.
This is another light, fun read, with a double dose of humor. Lots of angst, jokes about rats as pets, and hot loving give it the typical 'Brac Pack' feeling of the recent books. I look forward to the next one!
The author has been teasing us for awhile throughout several books with this couple. The short glimpses made me think that this book will be awesome, given who Sloane and Dudley are as individuals. Reading this book I experienced no awesomeness, the glimpses built up the book only for it to bomb hard and this series is getting worse by the minute.
"...he's a racist pig" Should werewolves be considered a race or are they a species? I would think that homophobia and "racism" would go hand in hand but Magnum somehow doesn't have a problem with Dudley's mate being a guy. As soon as I wrote the last sentence my words were disputed and confirmed at the same time; looks like "racism" does go hand in hand with homophobia and Magnum does have a problem with his son being gay.
I'm kinda, sorta fed up with this series, with every other book being made with the same mold but I keep getting teased, dang it. For now I'll continue reading.
I've been waiting to read Sloane and D's story and thank god, this book didn't dissapoint me. I love the angst, the dramas and how Sloane and D finally be mate because their road to HEA is long and miserable for both parties.
3.5 estrellas Dudley como personaje me tenía encantada desde libros anteriores pero ya en su historia no llenó mis expectativas. Le faltó desarrollo a la relación y tiempo de calidad. Aun así estuvo bien para una lectura amena.
Some men were never meant to be fathers. They use their sons as pawns, either ignoring or demeaning them. These monster father's would sooner sell their sons if it increased their power and wealth. These men are very rich, arrogant, and narcissistic. They only care what honor and esteem their sons bring to the family name. They even go as far as to pit their sons against one another.
All this debasement creates fear and low self-esteem. In D's case he tried to be the good son, always trying his best to make his father proud to no avail. His monstrous parent torn him down at every opportunity. The harder D tried to please his father the worst the outcome. Things became so bad that D struck out on his own.
The legacies of his father's house were fear, loathing, and hatred of Shifters. He taught all his sons to despise and see all Shifters, especially Wolf shifters as vile creatures that needed to be killer before the wicked Shifter showed no mercy and savagely killed one of them. Not knowing any better his sons believed every word. Causing D to be terrified of his Wolf shifter mate and run away from him - rejecting him!
Maverick's cousin was devastated by his mate's rejection, the manner which he went about it, and the strong longing he could not stop feeling for the awkward little Vampire. This book goes on to detail how two completely opposite mates, a heavy handed father, and the intervention of well intentioned friends, both clan & pack do to insure a HEA for two well deserving men. There is a lot of humor and poignancy in this 26th book of the Brac Pack series.
Dudley discovers everything his father has told him about vampires and werewolves is a lie. His world is shaken but he is now free to pursue his mate, Sloan Brac. Sloan has been as patient as he can be with Dudley, but when his mate calls out a hit on him, he’s gone too far in Sloan’s mind. He’s done.
When Dudley shows up at Sloan’s house, Sloan is not sure he can forgive and forget. When Dudley’s brothers and father show up, all hell breaks loose. Dudley and Sloan might lose each other forever.
His Imperfect Mate by Lynn Hagen is the twenty-sixth book in the Brac Pac series; this is a series where the books are meant to be read in their published order – they are not stand alone books. I’m really partial to this series and the men who inhabit this world.
Dudley has been brainwashed by his dad most of his life; it’s hard to break off from what he’s been taught but that’s exactly what happens in the first part of this book. Dudley discovers he’s been lied to and what is true is vastly different from what he’s been told. I liked the internal angst Dudley goes through when he discovers he’s been kept from his mate.
Sloan is a strong Alpha type male who knows the real deal with mates and the value he has in Dudley. He just needs to break through Dudley’s conditioning. The journey Sloan and Dudley take is angsty and filled with love. It was a joy to watch their relationship unfold.
I always look forward to reading a Brac Pac book and seeing what is going on with the pairings in the future. This was a really nice addition to a great series.
Yes! Actually, even that first sex scene was good. It may have helped that it occurred very late in the story, too. But yeah. I really, really liked this book. Completely sweet and an actual romance, too. Awww! <3
What a nice way to end my Brac Universe reading project until new books come out.
The downside to ending this on a high note is that I feel in less of a hurry to move on. XD Not complaining, though. Lemme look through the new stuff that was published during my two-week immersion. Forty-three books in fourteen days, baby. Omnom.
Well, I delved into the Bracverse a 2nd time and now there are 121 books - yikes! I loved this Universe the first time I read it several years ago and now I love it more, I really do, but I've only been able to read these series (and I have expanded to all the books that are currently out in each): Brac Pack Christian's Coven Zeus's Pack Demon Warriors The Exiled
These are the series that start the Universe. Reading them in order is a must. Each book has it's own love story but there is an underlying story that plays out throughout them all. As you get towards the end of these series, other series come into play and I noticed that, since I did not read them, I missed some of the characters being mentioned (good and bad) but I was still able to follow because the main ones stay the same.
One day I WILL buy these and read them all!!! (For the correct order, just look on the Internet for Lynn Hagen Reading Order): Brac Village Shadow Tribe BPNG (Brac Pack Next Generation - Brac Pack kids) The Remus Brothers Wolves of Desire
It’s heartbreaking the level of mental abuse D had gone through, he was not strong in the sense he was confident and was accident prone. I was upset with Sloane not going to Maverick or Christian and finding out how to take care of his vampire mate. I was hoping with Sloane mating D, there might be a chance he had some of Christian line in him, he could have babies. I like that Chance was excited that he has the chance to be a father.
Where do I start!!!! This was by far my favorite in this series. I have been waiting patiently for Dudley's story. Only so patient because he was in the other stories as well. He is hilarious. I actually had a " insert in mouth, exit from nose" moment with my coffee. Hopefully he and Sloane will still pop up often (please???).
I enjoyed this one as much as the rest of the series. The story is fun and light with a bit of conflict thrown in. There is a lot more happening in the stories so the MC's stories are getting more condensed. I would love to see a longer story with a more complex plot line.
It's the Brac Pac and I love all of the shifters, bears, fairies, vampires and whatever else is in that town. This was a cute story. Light and sweet. It took no time to read. Dudley cannot help but make you smile, especially when he has had coffee.
Wow yep they are great, totally awesome the second time around.. I can't wait to read the next one again too I know it will be just as great the second time around too...
