Bleached Gita

The Song of God (Bhagavad Gita) is a very deep document that has been interpreted by each true seeker of Divinity within. Vishwanath has made an attempt at interpretation and mistaken this for Divine Inspiration. Anyone who interprets the sign posts of religion runs the risk of sainthood. Sri Vishwanath has succumbed to this.
Very inspiring documents speak to each that read them. Read the Bhagavad Gita, not this hash of loosely correlated spiritual flim-flam.

Finished reading "The Secret of Bhagavad Gita" by Sri Vishwanath. Borrowing words of reverend Swami Vivekananda, "The teachings of Krishna as taught by the Bhagavad Gita (means Song of God) are the grandest the world has ever known. He who wrote that wonderful poem was one of those rare souls whose lives send a wave of regeneration through the world. The human race will never again see such a brain as His who wrote the Gita."

This book isn't a commentary on the entire sermon delivered by Krishna to Arjuna. The focus is on revealing the essence of Bhagavad Gita, the secret yoga of Krishna, and the unseen laws of the four parallel worlds (Earth sphere, Lunar sphere, Electric sphere and Brahma Lok). The book also demystifies in simple yet profound words - The Law of Life After Death. The closing chapter beautifully sums up the Oneness that prevails in all religions.

Krishna tells Arjuna: "Whosoever studies this righteous dialogue between us will be liberated and will reach the happy realms reserved for the meritorious."

Sri Vishwanath has summarised it in such a simple manner and his e.g. sticks to the concept in your mind so easily The last few chapters of this book where all the calculations of solar year yugs are so simply explained and the ending chapter with the map e.g. clearly shows how we are manipulating scriptures and we are in KAli Hug

Egs are great to explain concepts simple language and a great end with a message to mankind strong read recommendation

Frequently books on Indian texts are mired in a mess of esoteric jibber jabber. This is a fairly clear review of the important points of the Bhagavad Gita. I appreciated the exercises especially thouse that appeared early on. The author's own personal immersion into the text was interesting. It did get a tad confusing towards the end but overll a nice contemporary account.

Great introduction to the Bhagavad Gita

Clear, concise and to the point. I truly enjoyed this introduction to the practice. I love how it is not shown as a replacement to any religion, simply as a companion to any current belief system one may hold. A very refreshing and enlightening read.

Not bad

I enjoyed the beginning but then about half way through the book turned to opinions which I just could not understand and, frankly, it got boring.
Quick read though.

I'm looking for a great introduction to the Gita for practical people who have a low tolerance for woo-woo. Still looking. This is not it.

The kindle version needs an editor for punctuation and spelling. Editing is also needed for basic consistency througout- the text jumps around all over the place and it's usually unclear where the author is coming from (a strategic, self-serving, or spiritual mindset?). The book takes some random detours into extreme detail on tangential subjects, and completely omits other themes that could pull the whole reading experience together.

It is always problematic, I suppose, to go writing about the Gita only a few years from first having read it, and without much deep study in the original Sanskrit.

That said, there is something oddly engaging here. Something that kept my attention and made me finish the book. It could just be the interesting experience of reading yet another personal interpretation of the Gita. But I think it's that I just LIKE the author on some level. The awareness behind the writing feels genuinely excited about the material, and deeply changed by it in some ways.

A Knowledge Powerhouse!!!
I always wanted to read Bhagavad Gita and then I got my hands on this book, which tries to simplify what is written in the original one to bring across the message more clearer. There were certain parts of the book which made me realise my true self and how one can better their life by understanding the agents of change. A must read for everyone!!!

Maybe my expectations were too high. I had a hard time understanding many parts of this book. Yes, it was helpful, but a lot of the time I scratched my head and thought, "I don't really get it." Still, it was instructional and worth the time to read.
