3.5 stars. This was better than the last volume. Her we have the intelligencia putting there plan in motion kidnapping the smartest people, Reed, T’Challa, Pym, etc etc. plus we have Banner and Red Hulks uneasy alliance formed. Then by the end we finally found out who the Red Hulk is and get the final battle between the Red and Green Hulks. Pretty cool volume.

I consider there to be three main Hulk epics/eras.

Peter David's Run, Greg Pak/Jeph Loeb, and Al Ewing's current arc.

Pak and Loeb each had their own stories, but they fed off each other. Pak largely did the Green Meanie with Loeb on the Red Hulk, but they led to a lot of riffs on each other like Planet Hulk/Planet Skaar/Planet Savage/Planet Red Hulk/WWHs/WWHII, etc.

This is largely the culmination of Loeb's Red Hulk story. It's plain dumb fun, imo.

Too much time since i last read (Red) Hulk, because the plot got little confusing with the Red Hulk manipulating events...or is he? There is Intelligencia's villains twirling their moustaches and Red She-Hulk, The original (Green) Hulk, Original (Sensational) She-Hulk and Bruce Banner running around. What keeps this falling to an incoherent mess is part were get to know who is the Red Hulk (and do we care?), a revelation is good enough to keep reading. These events are happening same time as Incredible Hulk comics (#601 - 608), which i have yet to read, and was probably reason for the confusion part.

I think I may have been swayed by the average rating. This is a fine little story.

I think what hurts this books is that the pieces of it outside the core books of the story. So between chapters there's a gap where things happen that aren't shown to the reader or really explained.

Also Thunderbolt Ross is and always has been too cartoonish to make into a character with particular depth, let alone this alleged depth.

Despite how short the fights are, they are relatively satisfying.
