He’s the beloved veterinarian of a traditional medicine practice.
She owns the holistic pet wellness center next door.
They hate everything about each other.

Parisa Hadid needs to find a way to make her pet wellness center a success—fast—or she’ll never be able to prove her Persian parents wrong and build the business of her dreams. But, the constant fighting with her archnemesis, the surly veterinarian next door, is starting to seriously impact her bottom line. When he won’t stop trying to drive her clients away, it means war.

Malakai Dixon has built his successful practice from the ground up and isn’t going to let a feisty holistic vet ruin what he’s worked so hard for. So when Parisa’s wellness events drudge up painful memories and negatively impact his furry patients, he’ll stop at nothing to get rid of her.

There’s only one problem: chemistry is rolling in like waves and threatening to crash both of their plans. When an unexpected accident forces them to work together, they’ll have to face their fears—and their feelings—once and for all.

Love Unleashed is a tantalizing enemies to lovers romance that sizzles with banter, passion, and plenty of hilarious twists as two type-A veterinarians learn to let go of their comfort zones and fight for true love.

Parisa & Malakai are both Veterinarians with different approaches whose practices are next door to each other. They butt heads a lot, like a whole lot. The enemyness was taken to a whole different level at times, especially when they tried to dictate who their assistants dated. Spoiler alert, but not really, they were dating each other and they didn’t like it. Who are they to try to think they have a say in this matter? And they like to argue in front of clients, not very businesslike if you ask me.

For a good bit of the book Parisa is dating another man, which I didn’t like. And she knew he wasn’t for her, but kept dragging him along too afraid to say peace out. And the reason she wanted to drag him along was lame, sorry not sorry, if that makes me a Grinch. She had unsupportive parents, which I am never a fan of. I did, however, like her bond with her sister.

“Come to dinner with me Saturday.”
“That’s Thanksgiving.”

Umm, pardon? From the beginning of time Thanksgiving is always on the last Thursday of November. Is this different for those of Persian and Italian culture?? Or is it the fact that I read an old ARC?

Overall, it took a long time for me to warm up to both characters, and I didn’t really ever do so for Parisa, which really made me not want to root for them at all. I don’t mind slow burns, but I prefer there to be a natural progression to the relationship but the whole triangle thrown in really took time away from their budding romance. Those pages could have been used for them to get to know each other better. Yeah there was tension for sure, but with so little time in an actual relationship makes it feel too rushed. Anyway, there are a bunch of cute dogs mentioned so yay for that. Both of them had a love for animals that was evident, both in their practices and in their volunteer work, so I appreciated that.

So while this one wasn’t really for me I do feel like it might appeal to those that are much more enemies/rivals to lovers lovers than I am.

Series notes:
Malakai’s sister, Gianna, makes quite a few appearances, and actually has her own chapter at the end, which seems to be a set up for the next book in the series. Something she did early on was super weird and turned me off to her character, so not sure I’m interested in her story.

This book was a massive miss for me. I picked this up because of the dog on the cover and the intriguing synopsis promising an enemies-to-lovers romance between two rival vets. Unfortunately, this book did not deliver. I found the rivalry between the leads to be toxic, the MMC insufferable, and both characters acted super immature, even going so far as arguing in front of their clients. There was also a love triangle thrown in halfway through, which almost made me DNF this book multiple times.

Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"If you never fight, there is not enough passion to sustain a relationship."

Parisa has a wellbeing centre that focuses on animals through the use of spiritual and natural remedies and Malakai is a vet who has Veterinary Practice next door to Parisa, they don't see eye to eye and are constantly banging heads about something.
It took me a while to warm up to the pair, but once I did, I flew through the pages. I didn't like Parisa with Dane, at first he was ok but by the end I was like Parisa just grow a pair and end the relationship. That man would not take a hint. I know she wanted to wait until after Christmas as I know no one should be dumped at Christmas, but leading someone on is just as bad. The only good thing that came out of Parisa and Dane relationship was that it helped Malakai step up and act on his feelings for Parisa.

I felt the ending was rushed a lot and I felt as soon as things got sorted with Dane, everything happened within the last 10% of the book. I would have liked to have seen more of Parisa and Malakai together for a slow burn build up , it was extremely quick when it did happen.

Thank you Netgalley for a copy of the book for an honest review.

Tropes:
-Enemies to lovers
-Slow burn
-Rom-com
-Work rivals

This was fun to read, I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. Parisa(fc) and Malakai(mc) are both veterinarians and share buildings for their practices. They both have different methods of doing their jobs and immediately but heads due to differences in care for the pets in their care.

If you love enemies to lovers in the workplace, you will like this one. The workplace banter and fighting was enjoyable to read. I liked that the main characters didn't instantly get over their issues and become friends, but this was a very slow burn. I'm not always a fan of slow burns, but the tension, little moments, and romance before they got together were great. I liked reading about a Persian main character and seeing some cultural aspects in this book. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the love triangle with Dante. It was very obvious that he wasn't a real threat, so it seemed to be an unnecessary plot point. Overall this was so fun and quick to read, kudos to the pets that were their own characters lol.

A lovely slow burn rom-com. I really enjoyed the setting of the story with the main characters being vets and animals being an integral part of the story. Malakai and Parisa are the perfect pairing once they finally realise they like each other. But it does take them a long time to accept their feelings for each other, and their communication could have been so much better if they had only talked about their feelings sooner! Great chemistry between the main characters.

A good book to read on holiday or the beach, not too taxing with a satisfying ending. Perfect for rom-com fans.

La verdad, este fue un libro muy bonito. Con una cosilla innecesaria porque se desvió de todo el tema de enemies to lovers, pero en general estuvo muy lindo. Si me quedo debiendo.

---

Actually, this was a very nice book. With one unnecessary little thing because it deviated from the whole enemies to lovers theme, but overall it was very nice. At the end everything happened too fast and the couple didn't relate more (hence the unnecessary little thing).

I did enjoy it a bit. And I liked the characters a little bit. But it did lack a little more development, remove certain little things and develop their interactions more. The main couple was very cute and deserved more moments together.

Also, the secondary characters made the reading bearable.

It was a simple and easy read.

Love Unleashed by Elise Eliot is a great enemies-to-lovers romcom read about two veterinarians.

The story is about Parisa Hadid who has a pet wellness center, practicing holistic medicine for pets. Her biggest rival is Malakai Dixon, the veterinarian whose office is right next door. Malakai practices traditional medicine when it comes to treating animals and hates Parisa's approach.

The chemistry between Parisa and Malakai was electric, filled with so much banter and tension! Both hated each other but wanted what was best for the animals. As they got to know each other more they found that there was a chance they could work together. Every time I thought they would finally kiss, there was some type of surprise. I loved the anticipation! Every page was so well written I wouldn't change a thing. A great balance of getting to know the main characters as well as the side characters.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romcom!

4.5 stars. I got an advanced readers copy of this book, but my review is unbiased. This was an entertaining read. I had some very distinct opinions on the characters (not going to share them as most are spoilers) because the book did a good job describing them. Wasn’t the most amazing book I’ve read, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I liked that it talked about holistic vet medicine which is something that helped a dog I had a lot. And books about dogs are always appreciated.

“Oh, and Parisa? I’m not giving up. Not until you tell me you’re not interested. I’m in this— for the long haul.”

I found the cover of this book appealing and the blurb caught my attention. I enjoyed the story, the enemies to lovers part was entertaining to read. Paisa & Malakai had great chemistry. But when the love triangle was introduced I lost interest tbh. The story moved so fast after 75% and I wanted to see more of Kai & Risa as a couple before the story ended unfortunately that did not happen so I am a bit disappointed.

Parisa Hadid worked hard for her Veterinarian degree, and with the support of her family she's finally living her dream through her 'Zen Pets' business; a holistic wellness centre for animals. There's only one thing holding her back... the grumpy business owner next door.

Malakai Dixon, owner of Pet Vets, a traditional Veterinary practice, is harshly skeptical of Parisa's holistic treatments. So when she begins to hold community events in their shared courtyard, his anger takes over.

But even as they're arguing, they both feel the sizzling undercurrent and it's snaps them back. We all know that it's a thin line between love and hate... will they cross it? Or will their beliefs on Veterinary medicine keep them apart?

Thank you to @eliseeliotauthor and @booksirens for providing me with an ARC of this book. I've willingly provided this review and all opinions are my own.

This was a clean enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine romance which focused on two animal lovers and the way they run their clinics. The inclusion of their co-workers Ren and Autumn was a fun twist and I appreciated that we got to see Parisa's Persian family versus Malakai's Italian family and how their personalities, cultures and traditions differ.

This book publishes on May 6th 2023 so add it to your TBR!

Love Unleashed by Elise Eliot is an absolutely adorable novel that is sure to tug at your heartstrings. From the very beginning, I was drawn in by the enemies to lovers relationship between the two main characters, Parisa and Malakai. The constant fighting and banter between these two veterinarians added an extra layer of tension to the story that had me eagerly turning pages.

One thing that really stood out to me about Love Unleashed was the emphasis on cute puppies and the importance of animal care. Parisa's pet wellness center and Malakai's veterinary practice both had a love and respect for animals that was evident throughout the book. It was heartwarming to see how much the characters cared for their furry patients and how they were willing to go above and beyond to help them.

The chemistry between Parisa and Malakai was electric and had me rooting for them throughout the entire book. Even though they started off as enemies, it was clear that there was something more between them. As they were forced to work together due to an unexpected accident, they were able to face their fears and their feelings, leading to a beautiful love story.

Overall, Love Unleashed is a tantalizing enemies to lovers romance that sizzles with banter, passion, and plenty of hilarious twists. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance, cute puppies, and a story that will warm your heart. I give Love Unleashed by Elise Eliot 5 stars!

I read this book in the first 2 hours of waking up, I thought I'd only read a couple pages... but I found myself finishing it, it was just that hooking!

Parisa owns a Hollistics Pet Wellness center... and right next to it, Malakai owns a vet clinic! These two tough it out throughout the book, and their reasonings slowly change.

Parisa and Malakai have quickly become one of my favorite book couples! I love love LOVE the enemies to lovers dynamic.

There were an insane amount of "oh my god another roadblock" moments, they threw me off slightly, as I find it difficult to continue reading when there are misunderstandings following each other every chapter. But once I finished it I was so glad I did, even through the hard parts.

My favorite parts were the intimate ones! They were written perfectly enough to give me, the reader, butterflies. They were soft but detailed.

This was a sweet rom-com that gave me a nice little serotonin boost to start my day, definitely a novel worth adding to your shelves :))

Update on my review: After posting my review, I ended up being sent a copy of the updated version where the Thanksgiving issue was updated. I think the changes really helped with the flow of the story, at least from my point of view. So I wanted to come back and say I would recommend this book, especially with the updates.

Original review: I enjoyed this story. There was one thing that I noticed in my copy that didn’t make sense to me. I don’t know if I received an advanced copy and if this has been fixed already, but Thanksgiving should not have been on a Saturday. It’s always on a Thursday. I just thought that was an important thing to note since it distracted from the story. Every time it was brought up, I started thinking about that error instead of the storyline. But besides that, I liked the storyline.

Side note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review

This was an amazing enemies to lovers book I have read. It was fun and made me laugh and also infuriating at times. I wanted to throw my kindle in some scenes and was talking to my cats about my thoughts (while they looked at me funny) and groaned my irritation.

Can´t wait to read about gianna next.

This was a cute, fun, quick read! Parisa and Malakai have a such a tempestuous relationship at first, and I love that there is some real accountability and responsibility had by both of them in order to accept their romantic feelings for one another. I don’t like enemies to lovers stories where one or both characters are mean to the other bc they like them and don’t know how to handle it better (this isn’t 1st grade and we don’t condone that toxicity here) so I love that that wasn’t the deal in this story, that both characters had to realize they are their best selves when they are open, honest, and kind to the other.
Of course the pets are the best part of the story, and I love that healthy forms of pet ownership are depicted and explained throughout. I also love the side characters and can’t wait for the sequel with Malakai’s sister :)
Thank you for the ARC!!!

I adored this enemies to lovers story! There were a lot of strong (and strong willed) characters, a cute dog, and good family dynamics.

Parisa and Malakai are veterinarians who have practices right next to each other, but practice medicine differently which leads to a lot of tension. Eventually that tension turns to chemistry in a will they, won’t they romcom. Their banter is cute and witty, their support systems through friends and families add to the richness of the story, and their love for animals makes this a wholesome read!

This was a fun, easy read about two veterinarians who can't stand one another to start out, but soon find themselves falling for the other. They realize that the other only has the animal's best interests at heart, so maybe they can work together, so to speak. One practices a more natural and holistic approach to medicine, while the other practices modern medicine. Parisa and Malakai were quite enjoyable in this slow burn rom-com, and I really enjoyed the story and thought it was a super cute read.

I enjoyed the beginning, and I enjoyed the ending… Middle(Dane) was a little blah. I think I was just mad that he even had a chance lol because he was awful.
Enemies to lovers trope is a favorite of mine though, so it was enjoyable. I read an ARC on NetGalley, so I think the Thanksgiving on Saturday thing was fixed(hopefully). Would read this author again.

COULD. NOT. PUT. THIS. DOWN. One of my favorite enemies-to-lovers rom coms I've ever read! A sizzling, witty, hilarious romp that I wish I could read for the first time over and over.

The story introduces two rival veterinarians, Parisa, who runs a holistic pet wellness center and Malakai, who runs a traditional veterinarian office and the rivalry that is created between their fundamental differences in approach.

I absolutely loved the chemistry between them and could not put this book down! There was a constant “will they, wont they” throughout the book that was incredibly entertaining and built palpable anticipation.

What I feel stood out the most was how funny this book was, start to finish. The two main characters were hilarious, and the supporting cast kept me laughing out loud. You will NOT be disappointed if you give this book a shot, I LOVED it.

This is a romcom centering around two veterinarians. It is a slow burn enemies to lovers trope. They have two very different vet practices and they are in direct competition as their businesses are side by side. Parisa’s vet practice focuses on the holistic approach and Malakai practices traditional vet medicine. There are a lot of fun characters in the book and a lot of cute dogs.

I received a digital ARC of this book. This is the first book I’ve read from this author, but it won’t be the last. It says it’s book #1 so I hope there are more coming to this series. Parisa is a holistic veterinarian and her business is next door to Malakai, who has a regular veterinarian clinic. They are sworn enemies. Malakai does not like all the loud events Parisa has in the shared courtyard and doesn’t believe in her holistic practices. He does his best to ruin her events and discourage his clients from going to her. But somewhere along the way they start to have a flirting relationship. After all, there is a fine line between love and hate. But, can they see eye to eye where they need to go cross over from enemies to lovers. You will enjoy the roller coaster ride that they go on.

This book really hooked me. I was quite engrossed by the story and enjoyed it so much. This is in spite of a few of my less preferred tropes being part of the story. If it’s a good enough book then I can get over misunderstandings and a love triangle. Well, this book was really good, so there you go. I got over it. Parisa and Malakai were really great characters and their relationship went through so much evolution. The antagonism in the first part of the book was pretty intense, so it was quite a journey to get them from enemies to friends to enemies to friends to love, with little blips of love interspersed. There are some pretty great passionate moments, both of anger and attraction. Some very swoony kisses and moments, and some beautiful emotional moments. The supporting characters, human and animal, are also so good. This book has funny and fun scenes, sweet, and even sad parts. It’s not a quick read, so settle in…but it’s definitely not boring. So much happens! I think my only real issue with the story is that I wanted Parisa not to be quite so indecisive, and then slow to act to resolve the issue that kept her and Malakai apart in the later part of the story. This book may be full of passionate emotions, but it is closed door. There are just a couple of harsh words. (And by a couple, I mean like two, by my count.) I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is a super cute romance that is the start of a series. This had all of my favorite tropes but I just didn’t like the MMC that much. He was a bit overbearing, and Grumpy turned into A**hole in a couple moments. No getting along is one thing, but actively trying to ruin her business? 😬😬😬 also a heads up: a dog does get really hurt, but ends up recovering (I know that’s one of my TWs, so just letting you know it was enough to make me cry, but not hate the book because of it 😅)

❤️ Tropes ❤️
💋 Enemies to lovers
💋 Forced Proximity
💋 Grumpy vs Sunshine

Two vets work next door to each other in the same business center. One is traditional, one takes the holistic view. And the turf war is fierce. But is the battle between them over how they treat their patients, or because they like each other more than they want to admit?

Thank you to Book Sirens for the copy to review, all thoughts are my own.

This was such a slow sweet burn. And it has dogs! Instant winner.

Parisa and Malakai are both veterinarians, Parisa is a holistic vet and Malakai is a traditional one, and their practices are next to each other. So of course they fight like cat and dog (pun intended). Till they realize all the pent-up frustration might not be hate…

Parisa tries to fight her feelings for Malakai by dating someone else, and that's how the fight started, for her heart of course.

This was a really sweet read.

If you are in need of a feel-good, clean love story, grab yourself a copy!

This was a cute romcom-style book. I loved the build-up between the characters throughout. The he falls first trope was used in a perfect not over-the-top way. The author built a story that was relatable and a book boyfriend that while I hated him at first had me cheering him on in the end. I loved the character development of both main characters. This is a slow burn low spice romcom I will definitely recommend to others.
