There is a wounded shifter bleeding all over my petunias. And witches and shifters don’t mix. Ever. But there's a connection between us I was told was impossible...
The shifters have come. The wards have failed, and it's up to me to get them back up before whatever injured this wolf returns. I have to stop the bleeding because a dead werewolf in the garden is going to be a lot bigger mess than a live one who can walk away on his own.
I also have to keep my heart from breaking because from the moment he opens his eyes, I can't look away. It feels like I’ll never be whole again if he leaves.
It turns out there may be a lot more to the story of shifters and witches than we were ever told, because I did not expect to find my soulmate in a wolf.
Her Secret Wolf is a steamy standalone story of fated mates, family, belonging, and magic. It launches the Witches & Abbott Coven series of connected feel-good, small-town paranormal romances with strong shifters, powerful witches, and guaranteed happily ever afters. If you’re looking for a swoony, gripping paranormal romance with a lot of heart, fall in love with the Abbott Coven Witches and Shifters today!
Andie, the female witch lead, is considered a low level witch and was never expected to inherit a position in her coven’s main circle. But when her great aunt dies, she finds she’s been left the gardens and the herbalist’s position in the coven. Then she finds an injured werewolf in her garden.
Elliot, the male wolf shifter lead, wakes injured in a strange location not knowing how he got there or why he would have broken the treaty and trespassed onto witch territory.
But he knows he’s intensely attracted to Andie and that his wolf wants to claim her as his mate. Andie knows her power is stronger when she’s in contact with Elliot. Neither knows why the avoidance between witches and wolves exists but they can’t see a way to be together until an even greater threat to both of their families appears…
This story is dual POV, well written, and a great debut tale with an exciting premise and great world building. I enjoyed Andie’s growing self-confidence and the encouragement Elliot provided to her. I was amused by Elliot’s determination to not use her witch power for healing. I enjoyed their relationship and character development. I enjoyed their intimate relationship. I also enjoyed the world building and the secondary characters and interrelationships and integration. I’m really looking forward to more from this author.

What a fun book! I loved the vivid characters and imaginative alternate universe. Shifters have been losing strength; many babies of shifters are not born with a wolf. Similarly, witches are also losing strength; new girls have less power, and the coven is in danger of losing all its power if they do not have enough of the right witches for a Circle. There is also a Dire Wolf shifter pack threatening the area, which is very bad. There was a "treaty" that gave separate areas to shifters and witches, to keep them apart, which is a long story, but the treaty falls apart, but for good reasons.
Andie is a witch with plant powers, ready to be an herbalist to replace Granny Sam, the herbalist that just died. But it seems like she has little power and others in the coven are angry that Granny Sam left everything to Andie. She finds Elliot in his wolf shape in her garden, and heals him from poisoned Dire Wolf bites.
OK, now LOTS of stuff happens - exciting, scary action, witchy things, and smexy times. You have to read the book to find out!
I don't think it's a spoiler to say that Andie and Elliot get together - it was sweet to see the love grow between them. I loved how Elliot's wolf communicates primarily in smells and images: a wolf pup running into a tree is the image to mean "idiot", which I think is hilarious.

Character Chemistry: So this is juicy—we have a fated mates situation with drama and layers, and that means that in addition to being a well-matched couple they’re also meant to be and also the solution to all their magic problems. Like I said, LAYERS.
Plot: Andie has just inherited the role of herbalist in her coven, only to find a shifter wolf bleeding and seriously injured at her remote cabin. Shifters and witches are forbidden from associating, because, drama. When she and Elliot discover their powers are heightened to unprecedented levels when combined, Andie has to choose between her loyalty to the coven and her fated mate.
Overall: This book was GRIPPING. I had so many moments of the most delicious indignance followed immediately by satisfaction and I liked it a lot.

Elliot is a wolf shifter and Andie is an herbal witch in town and they are mates. In this new world, shifters and witches do not join, but these two and possibly the rest of his family will come together to fight the dire wolves. The characters are well developed with great backgrounds, entertaining folklore and hierarchy. The storyline has wards, mate and familiar links, interesting attributes and personalities for each character, and fantastic encounters - both good and bad, and much more. Loved the sway of power and strength between them as they needed it during the battle to stay alive and keep others from dying. Daisy the dog familiar was much needed and loved. Terrific ending for this book and can not wait to read the next one.

I don't typically enjoy wolf/witch books, I think because they are always forbidden, and that seems like an easy way out to start a forbidden romance. I downloaded this book because she starts off by defying the accepted to help him when he's injured. I hated how much her family did not believe in her and pushed her around. Andie's family thought she was basically nothing and would bring them ruin. I love that despite everything, she protected and cared for Elliot. I thought there were important discoveries that should have been shared with him that she just didn't think to mention. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more.
Andie never expected to mount to much in her coven but things change When her Great Aunt passes. Her inheritance starts a change of events that Andie would never have foreseen. Wolves and Witches do not mix so things don’t add up when Elliot finds himself on witch territory and no memory of how he got there. This is a good story and the characters are excellent. Andie and Elliot mesh well and bounce off each other. They are enjoyable to read and keep you entertained. Plus the secondary characters have depth and add to the story. Also make sure that you read the free prequel Her Wounded Wolf first that that will give more background. This story is enjoyable and a good read.
There is lots of story to this book and I really enjoyed it. Elliot, a wolf shifter, meets Andie, an herbal witch. Witches and shifters are enemies. But Fate will have its way when mates meet each other, no matter how hard they may try to avoid it, knowing of all the complications it can cause. Will their family stick with them when trouble comes? Or will they be abandoned to deal with it on their own?
The storyline pulls the reader in with a well-paced, exciting story and characters well-equipped to handle whatever comes at them. This is the first book and I definitely plan on sticking with this series. And I loved Andie’s old coon hound, Daisy!
Andie is named the herbalist witch after Grandma Sam dies and her whole family think this was a mistake, that she has no magic. Elliott is a werewolf who was gravely injured when he fought another wolf and he makes it to Andie's flower beds to collapse. Witches and Werewolves are both told that the other will take their wolf or control the coven. Andie and Elliott both fall in love and then have to fight to be together. Go read this book it was really good.

This is an exciting paranormal/fantasy romance with a cast of strong characters. The author does a great job developing both her characters and storyline and had me glued to the pages with all the action, magic and romance. She moves the story fluidly with her perfectly painted scenes and delivers a fantastic read. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I like Andie and Elliot. They are so cute and for a while really so clueless. My favorite part of their story is the different take on shifters when it comes to the witches mixed with shifters. I like the small town feel and the close family ties of the coven and the wolves. I like how Andie is so sweet, kind and compassionate. Elliot is a protector and strong and feels like he falls first. This is nicely done.

This is the first book I have read by Lucy Piper. I'm not usually a fan of stories about witches but this book has changed my mind. I loved the Abbott Coven members, so many different personalities and dramas. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves reading about shifters, witches and books in a series.

This took a bit of a different spin on fated mates. Elliott and andie had a lot going against them, mostly the coven. It did bit go as I expected. That being said, I really liked that this was a short read with interesting characters.
I really enjoyed reading about a witch helping to heal an enemy wolf shifter. Found it interesting how werewolves came about. Glad that family came together in the end. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.
This is my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a whole new twist on fated mates. The story has unexpected twists and turns that kept my interest throughout the entire book. I highly recommend this book and I'm on to the next one!
The characters were detailed and fun to watch what they got into. There was action, magic, and even a fun dog thrown in too. This was a very fun read and I definitely enjoyed it. I recommend this book and am glad that it is part of a series.
This is a sweet Romeo and Juliette story with a hunky wounded shifter and an under appreciated witch from a family of witches who have stagnated in time.
What's not to love? We have witches, wolves, and plants a perfect combination! This book was intense and it definitely delivers. Pretty good images too.
