Julie Kushner grew up in Marlboro, New Jersey and has been a passionate writer and voracious (bordering on obsessive) reader for as long as she can remember. Julie received a B.A. in Journalism, with a concentration in Broadcast, from the Pennsylvania State University, summa cum laude, graduating first in her major, with minors in both Psychology and Law and Liberal Arts.

She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Julie went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School, where she received a merit scholarship and was selected and served as a Legal Research and Writing Fellow for two years.

Considering the widening economic gap between the so-called "1%" and the rest of us, coupled with the world's obsession with plastic surgery, and the science world's increased emphasis on gene mapping and stem-cell research, the fictional world Julie Kushner creates in InGENEious is remarkably plausible. As your tour guide through a possible tomorrow, Danner Nash makes for an intensely relatable protagonist. Danner is neither exceptionally rich, nor incredibly lucky. He's not even spectacularly good looking (as most of these type of characters tend to be.) Instead, Danner is an every-man . . . a guy like you and me . . . but with something a little bit extra. And in tomorrow's world, it's the extra that makes all the difference . . .

InGENEious was my first read of 2023 and it was a fun piece of fiction from Julie Kushner. I'd start my day reading with my morning coffee and I found myself wondering what was going to happen next in Danner's world. I also enjoyed the story line between Danner and Jesse. This is the second book of Julie's that I have read and I'm looking forward to reading more in the future.
