I have never been a fan of picnics, even as a kid.
Why humans would want to lug perfectly good food outside to share with the ants and flies has always been a puzzle to me. Not to mention sunburn, sweating, lugging heavy ice chests and picnic baskets to the “perfect spot” and the inevitable issue of trash disposal.
No wonder nature hates us.
But I would have to admit that a picnic in the moonlight is an entirely different thing.
Vampire picnic a companion novel to the creatures that love me... Where at all begins.. By P.mattern & L Gauthier
Ever been on a picnic with a Vampire How very intriguing and so very different..
The Twins , It began in the 1700s . A time when things were different.. A time when you were Told who you were going to marry.. But for the twins something twisted happened. You would think the one you could trust would be family. But sometimes it doesn't always work out that way..
Stella, After, The loss of her parents Meeting up with her aunt ava, The the twins and so many things that are different. It's like a whole new world. Learning things she knew nothing about, Some family secrets that will come to light eventually.. But aunt ava is the best.
The picnic, The fair, The dreams. All so fabulous in this story... terrific read. And I absolutely adore the twins... Devon And angel.
The dreams in this story that everyone seems to be having I think are my favorite parts of this book.
This is the beginning of the creatures who love me. And carries on with those books I have read the 1st 2 I love them I have Book 3 and 4 to read also I think it's a really great series.. Definitely would recommend it to any one who likes to read a vampire book....thats not all blood-and-guts.. So it's a terrific read..
Stella is visiting her aunt after the untimely death of both her parents, only her aunt is part of a vampire coven, so this visit is much more than she planned especially with vampire twins in residence.
In this book Stella is already at Aunt Ava's yabin, so believe this would be a much better read after reading the series The Creatures Who Love Me as it left me with far too many questions that I'm sure were already common knowledge in TCWLM, some scenes really just jumped out at me as being out of place within the story arc. The bonus chapter for TCWLM at the end shows the journey to Stella's aunt's place and meeting everyone for the first time so I'm assuming it fills in those gaps. I wasn't a fan of Stella, as a main character she really comes across as being niave and child like, but very much delving into more adult situations. The two dimensional feel was added to by the story jumping as I feel like it relies on the reader knowing the set up from the main books. I feel like all the characters could be fleshed out more, especially Aunt Ava. We get hints of such great character depth and interested to know more about them, especially Angel and Devon's back story. A perfectly great companion novel for fans wanting more after finishing the series.
Is this just the beginning of a great series to come?
P Mattern & L. Gauthier have really out done themselves with Vampire Picnic. It was so much fun getting to know all the characters and the world they created is so well written you think you are there with them. Stella moves from Alaska to Oregon to get to know a side of the family she has never met. What a major surprise when she discovers they are a vampire clan. This book is so relatable and fun, I read it twice. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to see what will be coming in the form of a new series moving forward. They hinted at a new series towards the end and I for one hope it happened. Do yourself a favor if you like lighthearted and fun reads. This is one you need! I highly recommend it!
The characters were amazing!! I loved to read and get to know Stella and all the other characters in the story!!
The storyline was incredible!! This dynamic duo has pulled another great read together with another amazing new world to explore!! Vampires, humans and picnics!! Who couldn't ask for more!! I wish there was more to the story instead of leaving me unanswered questions by the end of the book. Though I am glad to know there will be another book coming out and I know my questions will be answered. But this book was entertaining and kept me guessing and of course craving to read more!! I still highly recommend this read!!
First off, I just love this story. Miss Stella goes on a trip and meets a side of her family that she falls in love with. The ups and downs and ins and outs of this side of her new family takes the reader on a great ride. It's a great ride full of vampires. A must read for everyone.
Its a rather short read. You get a feel for the these vampires and their abilites. You get to see the relationship Stella has with Devon and Angel. Its a very sweet little novel. Makes you want to read more about these characters. Thankfully theres another book to read to get a longer in depth version of this! I cant wait to check it out!!
This was a pretty good novella. I enjoyed it and will have to pick up the series it companions. The twins, Ava, and Stella are very easy characters to like. I look forward to reading the series.
