इलाचंद्र जोशी जी का उपन्यास जहाज का पंछी पढ़ा। पात्र जीवंत थे और कहानी रोचक थी। उपन्यास मुझे बहुत पसन्द आया और मैं इसे भविष्य में दोबारा पढूँगा। उपन्यास को एक बार पढ़ा जा सकता है।

Mora man anat kahan sukh pave
jaiso ud jahaz ka panchhi
puni puni laut jahaz ko aave

Was it the effect of lazy summer evenings or the feeling of seeing the world as a grownup rather than a child? I don't know and frankly I couldn't care less. Finished this autobiographically written novel in two straight days when I was 18. Liked it absolutely for its honesty and quirkiness. Time to refresh those old memories. Must revisit this novel again.
If you are trying to venture into Hindi literature, then it should be an early read for you. Don't jump into Titli or Kankaal or Kamayani or any other book by Giants of Hindi literature before reading this one.
