A True Second Chance Romance

I love that this story was a bout characters in their 40s. It is a true testament that everything happens in due time. A lot of people look at second chance romance as spinning the block on a previous partner in hopes it works out. Yet, what about closing yourself off to dating and then healing to give YOURSELF a second chance. I loved the maturity of love and the development of the characters. There was a bit of family drama, but I love how it unapologetically broadcasted that no matter what, you can weather the storm, and everyone is deserving of love. I was laughing and gripping my pearls as I road the wave of emotions in this story. Aliza I can not wait to dive into more of your books.

Don't let your past define your future...

Quivina Adedeji has recently come from a chaotic relationship that ended in divorce. She returns home to get her bearings and to try and mend her heart and soul. Maxwell Wynn has been broken due to a horrific accident that has left him feeling guilty and responsible for what happened years ago. Max and Quivina meet each other when they are both involved in a program that gives opportunities to inner-city teens to prepare for the challenges of college life.

Max and Quivina start off rocky together, but they soon realize they are attracted to one another. As they find themselves getting closer, family pressures force them to rethink everything they have emotionally together.

This is a passionate story of two people trying to move on from their pasts. If they do not move on there is the risk of them falling apart. I found myself hoping that they could overcome the obstacles and find their way back to each other.
