Love, love, love the artwork. Just gorgeous! I'm really enjoying this storyline and I can't wait to find out if she can escape her fate this time!

I don't know how a year and a half could have passed by without my coming back to this series, since I was enjoying it a lot. Villainess arcs, whether of the isekai or time-loop variety, are all about the heroine transforming a bad situation into a good one through her own efforts and building bonds with other people along the way, and that's very appealing for me. Who wouldn't want to have an opportunity to correct a terrible mistake, or sequence of bad decisions, from earlier in their life? Especially if it led to their being executed for a crime...

After Aristia convinces a reticent master jeweler to go along with her and the imperialist women's plans, an imperial festival begins, with the accompanying arrival of a train of five foreign princesses. They're vying for the position of court princess, a sort of diplomatic office that can be filled only by a single princess. There's an understanding that a court princess could also potentially usurp Aristia's position as the crown princess.

As has often been the case throughout this series, the politics--and the accompanying court intrigue--are somewhat opaque to me. Only three of the five visiting princesses are given any attention or characterization whatsoever by the story, and that doesn't help matters either. Still, I like how Aristia is securing her future through her wits (and, in some cases, prior knowledge through her time loop), but without malice and entirely without the prince's **** as her primary motivation. Come down to it, she's just fine with the idea of Jie-un arriving and becoming the crown princess, allowing her to go home as the heir of her father's duchy.

I like the art in this manhwa a lot. I wonder to what extent the backgrounds are purchased assets, and whether I could find similar ones in other online serials, but these YA fantasies and alt-histories aren't exactly about the author or artist having a solid grasp on architectural development and cultural history. The backgrounds having a feeling of "this is probably Europe, but I couldn't tell you where or during what part of history" isn't too hard for me to shrug off, but someone with more knowledge that I do would probably roll their eyes pretty hard.

Aside from that, the outfits, coloring and lighting are top-notch, and I almost never get the feeling I do from other web serials that the artist was taking shortcuts, probably from being on an unforgiving schedule. The aforementioned assets are used skillfully to set scenes in palace, garden, town, and so forth. I did see a single panel with character art that was directly copied from a panel elsewhere in the book, but since it was used for comedic effect--and I've seen photocopied/copied poses in many, many other scenes in manga--I'll assume there was a similar intention there. This story manages to feel and look like shoujo manga despite being created on a computer in a different country, and that makes it especially fun and engaging.

Wow! There is a lot going on in this volume.

First we start out with a bit of a side story about Tia and her business partner ladies attempting to charm their chosen jeweler. He, however, is proving difficult. This does allow us the opportunity to see Tia and her group interact more, Entea is super hot. Maybe Tia should just marry her haha. This plot line does allow us to get a bit of Allen and Carsein time since they decide to escort the ladies to the eccentric jeweler for their safety.

Soon the Foundation Festival takes over as the main plot line. Princesses from the neighboring countries have come to vie for the position of Court Princess and possibly usurp Tia in her position of Crown Princess. But does Tia want to give up the position anymore? Especially now that Ruveliss seems intent on courting her? Not all the princesses are as upfront in their desire to take Tia’s place. There are several we need to keep our eyes on!

Not a lot of Allen or Carsein one on one action with Tia in this volume. If that is what you are here for you might be a bit disappointed. We do get to see Tia flex her court skills several times and there is a duel! If you are rooting for Ruveliss out of the three guys you are in for some joy. Allen shows his intense temper at least once. He is not an enemy I’d like to make for sure. And Carsein is his usual ridiculous self.

Looking forward to volume 7 in March.

Romantic tension of Doom

I kind of feel sorry for Tia, she's doing such a good job overcoming her tragic alternate future, but unfortunately it seems that her efforts are making the grouchy prints more and more interested in her. Deep down she probably still has some love for him, despite the terrible painful experiences it's hard for something like that to just go away. Now she's seeing him expressing positive emotions in her direction how could she not feel conflicted. She knows his true destined one will arrive in the near future to steal his heart away from anyone he's with yet he seems to genuinely be drawn to her now. I think the ideal solution would be for them to have a solid friendship built on trust and dependability, an alternate form of love? But it's really hard to tell where things are going. Too many players. I don't think I'm on team Allendis anymore, he seems kind of stalker creepy. Carson's okay, not the brightest bulb but definitely dependable. If they can somehow fix the creepy factor for Allendis I could be swayed back to his side. She seems the most happy and comfortable with him, he just has that creepy intensity that I feel like she doesn't need after her previous experiences. Plus I don't think he ever came to believe her story which is important. I think if she ever told Carson about it he would believe her... if totally confused.

Still so disjointed. I don’t even understand the goals of the noblist and imperialist groups. The etiquette is very shallow - a lot of fuss is made over not greeting the princess, but being openly rude is ok, publicly proposing a deal, and declaring that you want the gift meant for the fiancée…all just fine. Tia apologizes for “her people” insulting the princess, which again is ridiculous. All of these kingdoms are lower ranked from what i gather, yet they’re running around being arrogant. The one that was pregnant…who cares? Why Tia thinks that it would be enough to start a war…just strike her off the list! Maybe her country wasn’t aware she was in love with the knight. I mean, if they did, they’d hardly send both of them.

Genoa initially seemed to be plotting against Tia, but now they’re firmly allied as frienemies. And yet Tia still has no intention of marrying the prince. She’s surprised that he’s changed, even though she realized herself that people change based on interactions with others.

Allen is merrily marching to the dark side. He appears to be getting closer to locking her up forever. Is he aware they want to kill her? Or will he turn on them when he finds out?

Btw, why does she keep getting lost in the palace? Didn’t she live there for years in the first life?

Tia struggles with her decisions as she still believes the decision she's made will save her from her previous fate, yet it's clear that things are not the same as they were before. She has many more friends and allies in her quest this time around, and the prince is clearly concerned about her, both politically and personally. It will be interesting as it all plays out to see if this other girl appearing from another world still happens and truly does win favor or if everyone's devotion will remain to Tia with this new world and the positions and true respect she's slowly carved out for herself.

Took one look at the front cover and thought, this character looks like another one who will be awful. But turns out she is part of one of my favourite couples in this book. This one mainly has the couples tho

I do have to say out of all the books out of this volume set series, this one felt the most “filler” compared to the other books. However, it’s still such a great book to read, and of course, the author and artist did such a wonderful job with this story. Looking forward to the next volume in this set.

Tia continues to pursue her knightly work and finds herself very busy preparing for the Foundation Festival. Several princesses from other kingdoms arrive, all hoping to be selected as the Court Princess, and Tia hopes that one of them count replace her as Ruve’s betrothed. The different court factions, particularly the Nobleist faction, see this as an opportunity to support a princess who will be successful and depose Tia, whose family is of the Imperialist faction. The festival has several nights of fancy partying and dancing, but they aren’t without clandestine meetings, secret rendezvous, scheming, and political maneuvering.

With all of the festivities going on, there are plenty of opportunities to see all of our favorite characters dressed up in beautiful outfits, and we even get to meet some new folks and see their finest attire. There are some humorous moments with some great comedic timing that had me smiling and chuckling. All these new princesses around seem like an easy out for Tia once again, but they really complicate her situation further, and it's intriguing to see that her feelings are not as clear cut as she once thought.

J'adore !
