Airin Emery has written seven books in the Dance Series, by Lechner Syndications.

After a professional dance career that included everything from Fosse to Cirque du Soliel she has changed gears and now focuses her artistry on choreography and writing. She maintains co-ownership of a dance studio in the Midwest, adjudicates for competitions & festivals and currently lives in Malibu with her husband, three children, and two precocious dogs.

This is definitely a book aimed for a younger generation of dancers than myself, but with its beautifully designed cover, I couldn't resist! The tone is perfect for the age range, but the sections are so short it was often difficult to get into one situation before you are pulled out and placed into another. Also, the Kindle version of this book that I downloaded for free was not at all proofread! There is a serious quality issue with that. I am often purchasing performance-related books to keep at my dance studio for my students to check out and read, but this is not going to be among my shelves simply because I do not want my students to get the impression that this low quality of attention to detail is acceptable work for the professional world.

So I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and the characters, and I cannot wait for the author to mature in writing responsibilties so that her work can be available for my dance students!

Out of this series, I have only read the first book in the series "Tutu Much" and this one but I really need to go back and read the three in between. I enjoyed this book of the series just as much as I did the first one as an adult reading a series geared towards teen girls. I like how easy they are to read and how quick you can read through them. I would love to see the author write a series geared towards adults as well because I love her character development. Just like the first book of the series, the book has more than just dance stories. You see the characters struggling through things that all young adult girls go through and I think this series would be a great read (from the two I've read myself) for any young girl.
