After reading the first volume I was super excited about reading the next book. Unfortunately this book is kind of a hot mess. There's a lot of details that don't make any sense and the author randomly pulls some overpowered third parties from out of nowhere to solve all the dramatic climax fights. The result is a confusing anti-climatic cop out.
One of the things that had me particularly confused is why the system guide thought Yui was a threat to her maid. I don't understand still even after finishing the volume. It feels like the author was in too much of a rush to revealed world building epic secrets. Instead of naturally letting things reveal themselves. Then heavy-handedly forcing the resolution in an awkward way. Additionally, the bonus chapters all feel like finales. But the most important details of the overarching plot have months worth of content left to go... So why are we having characters given weird happily ever afters when the story is only halfway through?
This is a fantastic story with wonderfully deep characters. However, the second volume departed from the firsts easy to read style with more of a cyclical nature. Many story points started close to the middle and then backed up or circled around a point for a while. It would have been a nice way to shake things up if the amount of characters had not multiplied ten fold. It then became hard to keep things straight and the need to reread was essential.
