He’ll do anything for you. But you’d better say please.
When tomboy sports reporter Charli Beaumonde loses a dream TV job because she’s not girly enough for primetime, she’s determined to land a big scoop and prove her boss made a mistake. But when she gets too close to a football scandal and finds her life threatened, Charli accepts an offer from family friend Grant Waters to hide out at his place—even if Grant predicts nothing but trouble from his buddy’s hard-headed, uncompromising, irrepressible, younger sister. There’s one more problem…
Grant’s “place” is The Ranch, a BDSM resort in Texas, and he’s used to being in charge —even if that means trying to keep Charli in line. But much to Grant’s surprise, she’s intrigued—even envious—of his trainees. They’re the epitome of what she’s never sexy, beguiling, and totally irresistible to a man. Still, Grant doesn’t believe for a minute that the sharp-tongued Charli has it in her to be anyone’s submissive. But Charli’s already on her knees vying for the chance to prove that even the Master can be wrong sometimes.
Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. She holds a master’s degree in social work and spent years as a mental health counselor, but now she writes full time from her cozy office in North Texas where she puts her characters on the therapy couch instead. She is a two-time RITA Award winner and a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author.
I have to say that I’ve been looking forward to Grant’s story ever since that sexy cowboy swaggered onto the page in Crash Into You with that Texas twang and that shit eating grin. There’s something about the way he pushes that Stetson up from his forehead with just one finger and grins out of those intense eyes that makes me go all melty and want to fall into a submissive puddle, right at his feet. Le sigh!! He is one sexy cowboy!!
I enjoyed this so much – I positively devoured it and read it in one sitting. I guess it’s a fairly familiar plotline – experienced dom takes on very inexperienced submissive but I really love this setup and Fall Into You has great character development and a very satisfying romance and, of course, contains really HAWT and erotic BDSM scenes. Pretty much what we’ve come to expect from Roni Loren after she burst onto the scene with Crash Into You a year ago.
Grant is absolutely my most favourite Roni Loren dom to date. He’s very skilful, very experienced but he’s become a bit of an island over the years, isolating himself emotionally despite being surrounded by people. He’s actually quite lonely, allowing the heartbreak of his past to affect his ability to move on and find true happiness with a sub. He takes them on for ‘training’ but never allows them to penetrate his cast iron emotional defences and always matching them up with another dom when that period is over. Once he meets Charli, he finds himself almost defenceless against his growing feelings for her – will he allow her to breach his outer walls and touch the man holed up inside?
Charlie is a really fun heroine to read. She’s feisty, strong and independent but, despite all that, she’s a little bit lacking in self-confidence and is quick to put herself down, denying her own beauty and attraction. Now do we think Grant is going to let her get away with that? Oh, no!! He’s not going to stand for that for a second!!
They indulge in some really delicious scenes as Grant slowly brings the submissive deep inside Charli that she didn’t even know was there, right to the surface. He delights in her growing submissive grace as she positively blossoms under his tutelage.
There’s some seriously fun role play especially when Grant leans in towards Charli and whispers in her ear, “Run!” Yes a thrill went through me right there and then! There’s also a suspense plot simmering gently in the background – Charli is in danger and Grant means to protect her. BUT, the most important thing going on here is the growing love story between Grant and Charli and they have a tortuous path to take – can they together break down Grant’s defences and find happiness?
It’s a super hot, super romantic BDSM story – it’s not very hardcore but it does contain scenes of bondage and punishment in Grant’s club, some light sharing and some anal sex. It’s intended for a mature adult audience.
Fall Into You is the third book in the Loving on the Edge series but it works perfectly well as a standalone. None of the previous books have any bearing on this story and, even though we’ve met Grant before, he’s completely reintroduced in this one so you can dive straight into this without worrying about what you might have missed, although I can highly recommend the earlier books if you like a bit of romance with your BDSM.

Wow, I've never read any of Roni's books before and jumping in on the 3rd book of a series made me a little nervous but I fell in love with not only the story and the characters but the author's writing as well. I'm assuming that each of the books in the series can be read as a stand alone. However, looking back and reading the synopsis' for the previous books, I realized that some previous characters make appearances in this story. So even though you don't have to read the previous books, it would still be fun to see the older characters making cameos in the future books.
Grant owns not only a winery but a BDSM resort on his property. He not only runs these two establishments but also trains subs and then finds them a matching dom. However, he hasn't taken on a trainee in months and no matter how hard he looks, he's unable to find one that he is willing to take on. That is... until Charli. One night after meeting a source on a huge scandal that she's working on uncovering, Charli is run off the road on the way back to her house. Luckily for her, she crashes not far from Grant's property. They've never met each other but Grant used to serve in the military with Charli's brother where he took a bullet and saved Grant's life. When he realizes who Charli is, he quickly tries to put the breaks on with his lust. There is no way he is going to seduce the little sister of the man who saved his life. Especially since his cup of tea has a little bit of sugar and a lot of kink.
Charli is a great character. She is a stubborn tomboy by nature and isn't overly girly. She isn't afraid to say what's on her mind and she curses like a sailor. She knows her lack of femininity is what effects her from getting dates but it is who she is. So when she's staying on Grant's property waiting for the smoke to blow over, she follows him onto the resort property and finds herself in a "class" learning how to kneel and be a better submissive. It isn't until that point that she decides that she wants to change a little bit and become more demure. However, once Grant takes her on as his trainee, she finds that she likes being a sub and not only that but Grant's sub. But their training session has a 2 week expiration date and once everything dies down with the scandal, she will be back to her old life.
Grant is as alpha as one can be. He's not only a Dom but he's THE Dom. He runs the BDSM resort. He trains subs to pass onto their future Doms and everyone knows not to challenge him. When he meets Charli he is torn. He is highly attracted to her but there is no way he can repay the man who saved his life by seducing his younger sister. However, when he finds Charli in the beginners class and she tells him that she wants to be his trainee, the wheels start turning. At first he thinks that she will bow out the first time he lets his Dom side out but not only does she not yell out the safe word, she responds to his Dom nature. Pretty soon he finds himself battling his past. He's never kissed a woman since his wife, who was brutally murdered in front of him... until Charli. He's never wanted any of his trainee's to stay with him until Charli. And he sure as heck has never been jealous until Chali. But regardless, he feels like if he lets Charli into his life he will be pissing on the memory of his wife and that is something that he refuses to do.
If you can't tell already, I really loved these characters. They were so complex and had issues of their own but they also had revelations as well. You have Charli who goes from a outspoken tomboy to a demure submissive and Grant who goes from a bullheaded Dom to a loving and caring gentleman. I liked that the author wrote the book in both Grant and Charli's perspective. It was interesting to see Grant's thought process when it came to his Dom nature, since I am fairly new to the subject. This stories characters reminded me a lot of Master of the Mountain by Cherise Sinclair. You have a Dom with a painful past who runs a kinky resort and takes on a woman who is new to the culture and brings out the sub in her. If you are a fan of Sinclair's than you will love this book. I personally can't wait to go back and read the previous books in this series. I will be impatiently waiting for the next books to come out.
I'd also like to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cover. I'm a cover snob, I will be the first to admit it and I love that this book doesn't scream BDSM or even Romance. The author didn't take the easy route and go with a sexy couple dry humping on the cover. So I'm able to take it to work and the doctors office without people looking at me like I'm a nympho. There is also a sexy shower scene in he story, so this cover isn't totally out of place either. I love the anonymity of it while still keeping true to the story.
*I'd also like to thank the author for providing me with a review copy. She has definitely earned a new fan.
Favorite quotes... "Charli-freaking-Beaumode. He'd been on the verge of asking her out--a stupid move in the first place because he didn't mess with women who weren't part of the scene. That was setting up disaster from step one. Nothing like springing on a vanilla person-- Hey, I'm a dominant and a sexual sadist. Oh, and I run a BDSM resort where I have submissives offering themselves to me daily. Yeah, fun conversation."
While I’m pretty tired of BDSM club books, I read Roni Loren’s previous book and I liked her voice so I thought I would continue with this one. When I learned that our hero Grant is not only the owner of an exclusive BDSM ranch in Texas and a Dom (and a cowboy!) himself, but also a former CIA operative and a vineyard owner, I said giddy up and let’s get to it. Roni Loren pairs him with a tomboy heroine who loves sports and dreams of being a sports anchor one day. Only, her boss doesn’t see that as her potential, and pushes her to do behind the screen work. Charli learns of a possible college sports scandal, she feels like if she can get this big story, she can prove to her boss she has what it takes to be an anchor.
While driving one night, she gets pushed off the road by a large truck with blaring headlights behind her. Hearing the squeals of brakes, Grant runs up to the edge of his ranch property to see what happened. Seeing an injured woman, he calls for help. Grant soon learns Charli is the sister of his good army buddy, and they also learn her house has been broken into. Fearing someone is angry for what Charli is investigating and owing her brother a favor, Grant agrees to keep Charli at one of his cabins until they can figure out who is after her. Charli is very independent and totally against this plan, but two domineering men (Grant and her brother) she doesn’t stand much of a chance.
Grant is instantly aroused by this tall, irish tomboy. Charli has no idea what actually goes on at Grant’s ranch. But she soon learns he is the owner of this very swanky and exclusive BDSM club, and she learns submitting to him might just lead her to gain confidence in herself….and maybe a romance with this sexy cowboy.
Charli really struggles with the BDSM scene in this book, something I liked. I think in the previous book the heroine falls into the submissive role quite quickly, but Charli fights it. She wants to become more graceful and more ladylike to see if that can help her in her career, but calling Grant “sir,” kneeling, and obeying his every order is a very hard task for her. I like that Grant can be very intense and a very serious Dom, yet Charli can add some lightness into their relationship:
“No sex.”
Mr. Cool cowboy coughed, set his glass down. “Excuse me?”
She grinned, pleased that he looked so distressed. maybe she still had some power in this dynamic after all.
Grant is all full of “ma’am” and low southern drawls. I’m a bit weak for that. I admit he is pretty perfect – cia agent, army guy, the most successful winery in Texas, the most successful bdsm club in Texas. People drop everything for his every whim. He does have some dark demons, ones that Charli helps him conquer.
I really like this author’s voice and I hope maybe one day in the future she will write a contemporary or even an erotic contemporary, just not full of bdsm, or at least not set in a bdsm club theme. I just get tired of that D/s play sometimes. Also the suspense plot in this one is a little weak. It starts out strong but fizzles throughout the book.
Overall though I liked these two together. She writes a very sexy cowboy Dom and a fun, feisty heroine.
Holy hot Batman! This story definitely brought the heat. I loved watching Grant and Charli come together and work through their obstacles. Not only was this super sexy and erotic, but it was a great story too with really interesting characters. Fantastic read!
I thought Grant and Charli were awesome. I was so excited to get to know Grant and see what what was under that commanding exterior because he had such a strong presence but seemed so guarded. I loved Charli, strong and determined and so curious and stubborn. She was an interesting character because of her upbringing and how she saw herself. I loved the metamorphoses she seemed to go through. The two together had some great animosity and chemistry happening and I loved the building sexual tension. They could be fun and playful together as their relationship developed but there were also a lot of sweet, emotional moments as well. I loved how challenging and feisty Charli could be with Grant and the sparks that were created. Those sparks were electric! The sex scenes are well written and descriptive and leave you in need of a serious cold showers.
Grant coming to terms with his past and opening up was so emotional. He had a lot of guilt happening and I hung on every word and kept waiting for him to get to that moment where everything clicks for him. It was a heck of a ride because he was fighting such an internal battle. I loved watching his walls come down. I also loved how Charli was there for him and how understanding she was, so caring and sweet.
There is an underlying mystery happening with Charli that leads her to being at The Ranch. It's a part of the story but not at the forefront. There are a nice amount of details but it's not overly in depth. I liked the element of intrigue it added though I have to say the conclusion to it all kind of fell flat for me. That being said, since it was a small part the conclusion to the mystery seemed fitting.
The writing was great. Loved the descriptions and the build. It was a compelling, erotic read full of passion and lots of steamy goodness. If you're looking for some heat, you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait for the next one in the series!
“Damn, you’re bullheaded. Didn’t you hear anything I said last night? I can be tough and mean, freckles. I don’t just like to dominate a submissive; I like to own her while she’s in training with me. You think I’m bossy now? You have no. Fucking. Idea.”
Grant runs an exclusive BDSM resort and he’s been searching for a new sub to train for months. He hasn’t taken anyone on and in fact, has remained alone for quite some time. He’s busy running his club and the winery that’s also on his property, but one night he finds Charli in her wrecked car and takes her to a cabin on the outskirts of his resort to figure out what happened. Charli was run off the road by another car and her brother demands that she have protection. To avoid her overbearing brother, she agrees to Grant watching out for her as her wreck seems to be related to a sports story scandal she’s starting to uncover. She doesn’t want to give up the story and like it or not, needs someone to watch her back while she gathers all the information. She’s also fighting for an on air position with the sports network that she works for and after initially being turned down for a side line reporter spot, she’s crushed with the reasons they gave her for not putting her on TV: not good enough on camera, rough around the edges, not feminine enough. When she accidentally finds out what Grant’s resort is all about, she decides to turn things up a notch. She’s not too sure about the BDSM aspect, but she wants Grant to teach her to be more feminine, more desirable in the hopes that it will help her come across on TV like the network executives want and finally land her dream job she’s wanted since she was little. Little does she know what she’s getting herself into with Grant.
Grant is fighting demons from his past, having never moved past the pain from losing his wife and unborn child. He agrees to take on Charli but makes it clear that they’ll be going ALL in for the next two weeks. She may want to learn to be a little more sexual and less of a tomboy, but Grant doesn’t do anything in half measures. He’s a Dom and he expects Charli to become submissive to him during their time together. This was a dynamic I loved because Charli, even when she’s trying hard to fit the role, her first instinct is to question everything, it’s hard for her to follow Grant’s demands and they end up butting heads, a lot. I found it amusing, they have great banter and even when things get very heavy for them and Charli finds herself more and more attracted and responsive to Grant, she doesn’t completely lose herself. Even at the end, she’s still that spunky, opinionated woman, just made to be a little softer, especially when it comes to being in the bedroom and tied up with Grant.
Grant is the Dom of all Dom’s at his resort. He feels a deep attraction to Charli, enough to give their two weeks a shot and he pushes Charli to her limits and more. It might be hard at first to see someone like Charli get into this lifestyle, but she really just falls into it, her reporter mind gets her into trouble as she snuck into the Ranch at the start, but her initial reaction to finding herself in a student-type sub class was something she didn’t anticipate. I thought it worked for her in that she’s attracted to Grant and she reacts to everything he does in their scenes. Grant has a hard doing the sweet and tender sex, in fact he doesn’t kiss Charli for the longest time. So their sex scenes early on are very naughty, rough, and push the limits for Charli, but it’s still not an easy time for them. Charli needs kisses and she needs those tender moments and Grant, living in the past and thinking of his dead wife way too much, can’t let go. I really like how strong Charli was and while she gave in to Grant during some situations, she doesn’t do it all the time and she’s a great challenge for him as she forces him to start to live in the present and not in the past.
“The number of times I’ve actually been able to enjoy sex with anyone? Maybe four.”
Grant’s brow wrinkled. “Meaning you only liked it four times? Or you only came four times?”
“Both. My mind doesn’t stop racing. I get distracted at the littlest thing. The room’s too cold. His cologne is too strong. Why is he making that face? Does he seriously think that is going to work? Am I doing this right? Does he realize that having Sportscenter on in the background is only going to derail me?”
Grant’s dimple appeared.
I found Charli easy to relate to. She loves sports, she’s a tomboy and she just seems like a normal, everyday kind of woman. I loved that. We get to see her in her comfort zone, fighting for her story and dealing with people who don’t want her story to come to light. But we also see her start to change, just a little, thanks to Grant and I found her to be very charming and easy to like.
Fall Into You is a sexy story that more than satisfied my curiosity about Grant that has been building throughout the series. Charli isn’t the type of woman I expected Grant to have for a heroine, but she ended up being perfect for him. I really enjoyed their relationship, seeing Charli get an up close and personal experience with Grant’s lifestyle and how she responded to it. This was a strong addition to Roni Loren’s Loving on the Edge series and fans will love getting to know Grant better and see him fall for Charli, a woman who ends up being his perfect match.
Grant is one sexy cowboy !! He owns a winery and a BDSM ranch.
He finds Charli after she have been in a car accident. Someone had runned her car over the road. He offers to watch over her after he finds out he knows her brother very well. They agree for her to stay with Grant for a few days. Within these days she finds out what his resort is really about. Her interests get intrigued and she wants to learn how to be a submissive. This book is filled of steamy moments. Its not filled with hardcore bdsm.
You will addicted to this series. I was able to read this in one day because its that juicy.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite erotic romance series. When I crack open a Roni Loren book I seem to always expect a very sexy read, characters with depth and a storyline that always keeps engaged while being a bit suspenseful. And that’s just sexy suspense done right.
I often compare this series to Wicked Ties by Shayla Black. It’s a lighter version of BDSM that say the Cherise Sinclairs and Tiffany Reisz of the world, and sometimes that’s just what fits the bill. The great thing about this author is that she ALWAYS does right.
FALL INTO YOU is no different. It’s hot, it’s sexy, full of alpha Dominant goodness and a thrill of a story. But let me start with the hero, because I have something to say here. Bear with me.
Grant is the owner of a BDSM club, he’s also a winemaker a down home cowboy. He’s one of the toughest Doms at the club mainly because he doesn’t think he can be in a relationship again because of his past failure at one. So I was reading this and about 30% through a friend of mine tells me to go over to Roni’s blog and see who her inspiration for Grant was… *me running to the website*
I present you… Blake Shelton. This tiny little fact just increased my enjoyment of this book by like 1000, and I was loving it already. See, I have a bit of a crush on this sexy cowboy.
*sigh* Where was I? Oh yeah, the book…Do I need to tell you more about Grant? Fine, fine, I will. He’s overprotective, dominant, alpha, take charge, and good with a rope. He’s a successful business man too. He is DEFINITELY and WITHOUT A DOUBT my favorite Dom by Roni Loren to date. Totally puuuuurrrrrr worthy.
Then we have Charli, the heroine. I loved her from the very beginning. She’s a typical tomboy that doesn’t have the level of confidence because she’s always been a little too plain, a little too tall, a little too flat chested, to get to where she wants in life. This affects her personal life as well as her career. She works for a TV station but they won’t give her a on camera job because she’s not sexy enough.
So there she goes trying to crack a case and doing some research. This research gets her in some trouble and Grant has to step in to protect her until the heat passes over. Except that she finds herself in the middle of a lot more heat than she thought she could handle. And it’s all about Grant teaching her the ropes…so to speak…in BDSM training.
Got your attention yet? Although this is a plot that we see time and time again, it worked so well for Ms. Loren because her writing is amazing. She creates characters that you can’t help but fall in love with and a storyline that keeps you turning the pages.
Awesome addition to series (and stands alone): Grant is a hot Alpha with legitimate issues in his past and Charli is strong enough to deal with them yet vulnerable enough to be great heroine!
Fall Into You by Roni Loren is a wonderful romance novel with heavily spiced up BDSM elements and some intrigue. Charli (Charlotte) is a beautiful red headed tomboy who writes articles on sports and is looking to apply for another position. She was raised in house full of brothers. Charli's hero is a tall sexy Cowboy named Grant. He owns acreage for a winery and some of his property is allocated to an upscale BDSM club near Dallas, Texas. They meet by happenstance due to Charli's car being run off the and have a physical connection they both cannot ignore. To keep things interesting, the hero and heroine have issues from their past that they both need to overcome in order to move on with each other and to shed memories that hold them back..
The way this couple interacts with each other is kismet and very sexy. They bring out the best in each other even during the bumpy times. When it comes time for them to re-evaluate their relationship, some angst is added to the plot which ratchets up the story. This part of the book is not, in anyway, prosaic; but, rather it gives the reader the impetus to read faster because he/she HAS have to find out what will happen next.
This dynamic story is really worth your valuable reading time. It is a spicy intrigue romance and I am now trying to pull the hook out of my mouth since Ms. Loren lured me into her wonderful book. I will definitely pick up the other books in this series to read. The author did an excellent job of weaving her story to keep her readers engaged in the story. Not once does the reader feel left out of the loop by not having read the first books in this series. Fall Into You can definitley be read as a stand alone story.
I first discovered the complete awesomeness that is Roni Lauren when I read Crash Into You. That book still remains on my favorites list. Fall Into You is the 3rd installment in this great series, and it continues to be my fail-safe erotic go-to read. While I didn't LOVE this one as much as I did Crash Into You, it was still a fantastically pantie-melting read. Grant is a sexy Dom, and I loved Charli's personality. Really looking forward to Caught Up In You...it's going to be Kelsey's book. We get introduced to her in this book, and I can't wait to read her story.
The Loving on the Edge series captivated me from my first book. I fell in love with the author's way of bringing her characters to life, their unique circumstances and conflicts to love while delivering a spicy story a reader can savor. For all my love of this series and the main setting of the series, The Ranch, I've never read The Ranch owner and series mainstay's story. Yes, it was time to finally read Grant's story.
Fall into You is book three of the Loving on the Edge series. I'm pretty sure this series works best when read in order, but since I only read the last half of the series in any semblance of order, that would be hypocritical of me to say so. Joking aside, I do think the series does work best when read in order so recurring characters and their situations make more sense when they come up in following stories. Now, that said, I'm actually glad I got Grant and Charli's story last. I think I appreciated it more after seeing them both throughout the series and watching Grant helping out everyone with advice and with letting them work things out with their love interests by coming out to The Ranch his BDSM private resort.
Okay, so Grant Waters owns a vineyard, but also a private BDSM resort on a ranch where some of Dallas' most influential people are part of his clientele. He runs an establishment that is top-notch quality, but safe and discreet. Grant is a Dom and a Sadist, but he takes no subs beyond the time it takes to teach new subs the lifestyle before handing them off to Doms they match well with. He is alone even in a crowd and sadly, he knows he will always be that way. That is until a certain whirlwind hoyden sister of one of hos old army buddies gets herself in danger and needs a place where she can be protected. Charli turns his world upside down if he can only let go of the guilt and grief over his wife's death.
Charli has never been a girly girl with womanly charm. She's too tall, awkward, and brash. She wants to land an on-field sports reporter job with the local sports network. She's been tracking a story of corruption for how a big university get it's wins. Someone doesn't want her to get her scoop and nearly kills her. Grant owes her brother so he takes on guard duty and a secure place to stay for a not so willing Charli. She's attracted to him, but hates that he only sees her as an obligation. This feeds her deep feelings of inadequacy and rejection by men. When she discovers that the Ranch doesn't just make wine, she is intrigued rather than horrified. She wants Grant to train her how to be a sexual submissive and she hopes this will make her more confident in herself and like who she is. The submissive part seems a stretch for brash and stubborn Charli, but for Grant, she would give him anything even her heart if he would just let go of his grief and guilt.
As I said in the intro, the author doesn't just slap together a series of steamy erotic encounters with barely fleshed out characters and plot. NO! Her stories are as sensual and erotic as one could want, but they are slow burn as the reader gets to know the characters, their backgrounds, and the roadblocks they have to their romance. Plus, bonus, there is a nice side of suspense because of Charli's story. Grant is good at reading people which makes him a successful businessman in both his businesses and it makes him able to see the gem who is Charli, but like most of us, he can't see himself well. That is where Charli came in and had his back. She is determined to stop him feeling guilty over the past and get him back into the land of the living. She takes whatever paces Grant puts her through with her training and lays it all out there for him. He can't help, but fall. Only, he can't quite let go of the past, either. It was heartwrenching watching him pull away from her each and every time. I wanted to give him a boot in the butt and handcuff him to her so he couldn't pull away.
Now, this was steamy and it does involve Grant as a sadist Dom and Charli as his masochist sub, but I would say the BDSM activities were moderate like whip, ropework, exhibitionism, some scenening with props. Mostly its about the mindset, romance, and character development in the story.
All in all, I was both so glad to finally read Grant and Charli's story after seeing them regularly throughout the series, but I was also sad because now that I've read it, the series is over for me. This is one of the few series I push when a person is looking for good erotic BDSM romances.
I loved Charli. I guess I prefer the heroine to talk back and have some sass in their submission. Love this series! Read it out in the Florida sun next to my parents. They probably assumed my red face was from sun but it was really from the book. Very hot!
Grant is adorable still, Can I keep him? great book as the owner of the vineyard and resort he brings us on his own journey and it did not disappoint! Just as perfect as I remembered it
Oh. Em. Gee. Where's the petition to get these Loving On The Edge stories on HBO? Cause I'd pay for HBO just to see these amazing characters in all their High Definition glory!
Meh. This was fine, though far from the best kinky romance I've read. The author tried to say something about femininity and feminism and the workplace and kink but it all came out a bit of a garbled mess. I don't buy that submissive lessons would teach someone to be more feminine since women aren't inherently submissive, so my nose wrinkled every time that came up in the story. Also, every time Grant freaked out after a scene and called himself a shitty dom, I had to agree. I get that he was going through some stuff, but the whole point of BDSM is clear communication and consent. He didn't give Charli what she needed and didn't stop himself from being in the situation after it was clear he couldn't handle the responsibility of the power exchange.
I really tried to suspend my disbelief here, but I came for the kink and thought it was disappointing and borderline problematic, so I'm not planning to read more in the series.
I discovered Roni Loren early into 2012 with her debut Crash Into You, the first book in her Loving on the Edge series, and I really loved it. Since the first book I've been curious about the "The Ranch" club owner, Grant. Ms. Loren has been teasing us with his character and I was very excited when I learned that Fall Into You would be his story. I was also somewhat hesitant about it because so often it seems like some stories don't deliver the goods on long anticipated characters after all the buildup. I didn't want to be disappointed by Grant's story, and let me tell you--not only was I NOT disappointed in Fall Into You, I think it's the best book so far in the Loving on the Edge series.
The heroine, Charli, is on the verge of proving to everyone, including herself, that she's got what it takes to be an on-air sports reporter. But on her way back from a secret, and what turns out to be a dangerous meeting with a insider who is willing to blow the whistle on illegal activities in a big time college football team, she finds herself in danger. After being run off the road, finding her home invaded, and losing the job she has been working so hard towards, given to a woman who is everything she feels she is not (sexy bombshell) Charli finds herself floundering and wanting to find her feminine side and feels that Grant is the man that can make that happen.
Grant is an ex-military, ex-CIA agent turned vineyard & exclusive BDSM club owner who lost his beloved wife and has cut himself off from his family and his emotions due to his guilt and grief that he won't forgive himself for. He's lived the last several years of his life embracing his sexual desires, while remaining detached, by training women to be perfect submissives...just not for himself. He finds himself attracted to Charli and wanting to protect her from the unknown danger she finds herself in, but tries to deny the attraction since he thinks the take charge Charli is more vanilla, not submissive. He believes that not only are they not sexually compatible, but she makes him feel things he doesn't want to-- A desire for more than just a casual connection.
Fall Into You is a very touching and emotional love story that definitely brings the heat. Grant is the star of this book, no doubt. I LOVED him. He's a hero that actually exceeded my expectations. He's got that cowboy charisma, along with all the sexy moves, but his emotional journey to learn to love again, learning to let go of the feelings of guilt over his wife's murder, and learning that loving another is not betraying the wife that he loved, is heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.
Charli has her own demons to conquer. After her mother left at her a young age, and was made to feel that she wasn't beautiful, she was raised by her Father and her brother. Being a tomboy was a roll she was much more comfortable with, but she feels that by attempting to learn to become a submissive that she can discover a more feminine side to herself. Through Grant's lessons she learns to believe that she is beautiful, desirable, and more than enough in every aspect of her life. After seeing her Father living with a broken heart after his wife left him, Charli comes to believe that she deserves to have a man who is capable of loving her like she deserves, and being the competitive person that she is, wonders how she is supposed to win Grant's heart when her opponent is a memory.
Fall Into You is everything that I love about erotic romance. Yes, it is BDSM themed, but Charli is not your submissive doormat. She struggles with the whole idea of the lifestyle, and I appreciated her ambivalence and insecurity in a role that is unfamiliar to her. I also liked that Grant wasn't an overbearing alpha-hole hero. He was sweet, and charming, yet in no way Beta. He's alpha all the way, in the best sense of the word. The story does have a small romantic suspense plot which I also liked. Sometimes I feel that romantic suspense stories can be overtaken by the action rather than the romantic relationship, however in Fall Into You you the suspense part of the story is just a small, but important aspect of bringing the two characters together to support the story, not overshadow it. The only issue I had with the plot was the coincidence that two strangers meet on a deserted road, only to find out the the heroine's brother is the man that saved the hero's life while serving in the military. But after I got over the somewhat unbelievability in how Charli and Grant first met, I thought Fall Into You was one of the best erotic romances I've read this year (2012). Grant is also one of my favorite romance heroes of 2012. Love, love, love him! I hope you pick this one up because I don't think you'll be disappointed! Roni Loren is a new must read for me and is my favorite romance reading find in 2012.
I would recommend it to anyone who likes Sweet Surrender (a lighter BDSM themed series), Cowboy Casanova (Rough Riders) (for the emotional intensity and hot lovin'), and possibly Club Shadowlands [Masters of the Shadowlands 1] (though very little of Fall Into You takes place at the club but in private encounters).
Ratings:
Overall: 4.75 stars Sensuality level: 4.50 (scenes including rope bondage, spanking, and role-play forced seduction---though she's totally on board with that, and lots of hot hot lovin' and a very tender kiss)

Oh how I have waited for Grant’s story! The aloof owner of The Ranch has grabbed my interest through all of Roni Loren’s books in the Loving on the Edge series. The Ranch is a BDSM resort right next to a vineyard, both owned by Grant Waters. Through each story, he has read the submissive women down to her nakedness and left me panting for his story.
Grant is feeling a little lost and alone as he hasn’t taken on any new submissive in months. Nothing is grabbing his interest even after he interviews sub after sub for the position. When a car accident on his property lands Charli Beaumonde at his door step, he finds himself awakened for the first time in years. Unfortunately Charli is the younger sister of the guy he saved while army. Now an ex-CIA agent, Grant feels it in his bones that Charli’s accident wasn’t and accident, but what he also feels is Charli is not the submissive that can take his hardcore kinky desires.
Tom-boy Charli Beaumonde is ready for a big time job on the sidelines of football games. She is interviewing and now has a story that could blow away some top names and land her the spot she has always dreamed of. But when they give the job to a bombshell bimbo, Charli’s insecurities rise up. She’s never been good enough for her mom, her boyfriends like her more as a friend, her boss gives the job away and now everyone is being over protective of her.
The one rule Grant had about her stay was never to cross the fence…and Charli defies that one evening, following secretly behind Grant. Boy, does Charli get her eyes opened and mind fired up, but at the same time it tears her down.
For some reason, the words pierced her like barbed wire. She herself had been thinking in the session she was nothing like those women. But hearing him say it with such conviction lashed at the same battered spot her boss had created when he’d told her she hadn’t gotten the on-air position. Not good enough. Not pretty enough.
Charli decides she wants to be as graceful and poised as the submissives she saw at The Ranch and makes a deal with Grant for submissive training. Grant is reluctant at first and tries to show her the error of her thoughts and prove she is not submissive. Unable to resist her, Grant agrees to train her for two weeks, but some of the conditions don’t sit well with Charli.
Grant hasn’t kissed another woman since his wife died in his arms. He blames himself for her death and continues to hold on to her memory. He will have sex with women, but never in his cabin, nor does he ever sleep the night with them. Slowly he uncovers that Charli is the submissive he needs, but refuses to accept. He struggles not to kiss Charli and Charli tries hard not to be hurt by him not allowing her to spend the night. It is heartbreaking to watch Grant continue to keep his dead wife on a pedestal and deny himself what is staring him right in the face.
Watching the transformation of Charli from tom-boy, no make-up, no heels or dress, to a poised, confident woman was interesting. Grant invoked in her all her hidden qualities that she was afraid to allow to surface. While make-up, hair and clothes don’t make a woman, we do see her use her training as a submissive to read people, to respond more affectively and grow stronger in confidence in herself.
More introductions were exchanged, and Grant could sense Charli’s professional image rising like the tide. Her posture turned straighter, her voice firmer, despite the fact that her heart had to be hammering in her chest.
While Grant does own The Ranch, there are scenes both in the club and outside of it. There are plenty of BDSM scenes that I was so into, I forgot where I was at as I was reading them. The story sucked me in and had me turning the pages as fast as I could, only to want to re-read the scenes over and over.
The suspense of who is out to get Charli was the weakest point of the book. I could have done without some of that as it wasn’t the focal part of the story.
Who would I recommend this book too? 1. Anyone who loves a good BDSM book. It isn’t a 24×7 Master/slave book, but a more realistic look into a 2. couple who have careers and enjoy their kink in the bedroom. 3. If you like Cherise Sinclair or Kallypso Masters, you will adore this book! 4. If you have read any of the books in the Loving on the Edge series…they just keep getting better! 5. Anyone who has ever doubted themselves, this books shows how Charli didn’t just fall into the submissive role, but grew into it and into her own confidence. 6. Anyone who has loved someone so much they are afraid to let go. Grant shows you life does go one and can be good once again. 7. Oh, and just because the sex is off the wall HAUT!
Holy hot whips … there is a lot of steamy action going on back at The Ranch! I am so excited book three is finally here. We met Grant in book two. He was so mysterious and intriguing, I just knew there had to be a big story behind him. He’s a sexy confident powerful Dom on the outside, but on the inside he is living with guilt and grief. He has been destroyed and is living in a pretend world. That is until one very feisty, sexy lady enters his world and starts seeing through the layers he has buried deep behind.
I will be up front and honest and say BDSM is not my favorite genre. I don’t typically search it out for my reading enjoyment. I got really turned off when it became so popular a while ago and everyone had an opinion what was right and wrong. There is no definition set in stone and there is no right or wrong way to live or dabble in the lifestyle, so how can something be wrong? What I will say is that when an author delivers a story that works for the couple involved and is able to pull your interest and make you care and love fictional characters they have done everything right. Roni does just that and more with this series and I have loved every book so far. Her writing style is unique and she has a very captivating style. She is able to deliver emotion and heartbreak as well as humor and sultry sex all entangled throughout a heartwarming love story.
Grant is the owner of vineyard and also a highly secluded and secret BDSM resort called The Ranch. He is powerful, and very successful in his professional life. His personal life is another matter. I loved the way Grant way portrayed. He was two separate characters. He is confident and brilliant with his club and business. He is a true leader and is highly respected. But in the privacy of his own home when he’s just alone with his past, he is grieving, feeling guilty and lost.
After Charli lands at The Ranch, she quickly learns the resort is not the family oriented, bring the kids for a weekend, getaway that she thought it was. She is intrigued by what she is introduced to and to her surprise she seems to have a submissive streak that she never knew existed. Grant agrees to take her on as his sub for a short time to teach her the basics and help polish her image. They agree to spend two weeks working together. He will teach her about his lifestyle, and then if she likes what she has learned, she is free to find a permanent Dom to work with. Grant does not do permanent, relationships, or anything long-term. She quickly learns that two weeks with her cowboy is not good for her heart as she starts falling for hard for him.
To Grant’s dismay Charli is just what he needs to be able to start living again. He just won’t accept it. As much as his head knows she is everything he wants, his heart is still in a relationship with a memory. There were moments that the pain and confusion he feels on the pages completely consumed me and my heart just broke for him, for her, and for a future I didn’t ever think they would have.
From the first scene between Grant and Charli to the last, Fall Into You is an enthralling, edgy, sexy story. It makes you hope and root for a couple that deserves to find peace and happiness. The underlying theme of this story when all is said and done, is not dominance and submission, it’s not clubs and lessons, it’s not just sex and pleasure – It’s love. This story is like a complicated puzzle. We know each piece fits together, but the real work is turning and twisting them the right direction to make that happen. Charli and Grant just needed some twisting and turning and some resolution to happen before their lives and happiness can click into place.
Being the lover of all things BDSM, when Loren debuted her Loving on the Edge series, I was super excited about a new series to get attached to.
Grant is the owner of the super secretive and exclusive Ranch, a BDSM resort in the middle of Texas. He is Dom extraordinaire and the one man that no woman has been able to nail down. When he hears a car crash one night, he rushes out to help and finds Charli injured and in need of help. When he finds out that Charli is the younger sister of an old military buddy, he forces himself to stop looking at her as a sexy woman to take care of, and instead a younger sister who needs protection.
Charli doesn’t want Grant to look at her like a younger sister, and when she stumbles onto what really goes on at The Ranch, she is determined to win Grant over in every way that counts. Charli hides her plans under the cover of needing to be more feminine for her job, and she lets Grant teach her how to become soft and womanly and submissive. But the help that Charli needs is more than she expected, and when her life is threatened once again, Grant is forced to deal with feelings he never expected, and the one woman who can make him whole again.
I will admit that I really enjoy Loren’s style of writing BDSM. Although there is the occasional scene that takes place in public, there are also just as many scenes that take place behind closed doors, in the privacy of the couples relationship. While I’ve read plenty of “club” books, it’s always nice to see a couple who also prefers to play without an audience, who prefers to keep their relationship intimate and between the two of them. Despite Grant’s owning of The Ranch, he also likes to keep things private between himself and his submissive, and the vast majority of his scenes with Charli are kept behind closed doors.
I loved their romance. I knew Charli would be in for a hard time, especially as Grant reveals more and more of his dating/romantic history. And despite some of Charli’s TSTL moves, I rooted for her time and time again. I wanted Grant to have another chance at love, and although Charli seemed to be the opposite of what he normally liked, they were perfect together in the bedroom and out! They danced around each other for awhile in the beginning, and the sexual tension between them ramped up to epic proportions. When they finally got down and dirty, it was sexy beyond belief!
For me, the weakest aspect of this story was the suspense plot. I never really understood why someone would want to try and kill Charli for the story she was working on, as it didn’t seem to me like the consequences of the story coming out would be all that horrific for the people involved. So the lengths that her villain went to “get” her just didn’t seem to really gel for me. Although it forced them together, and the threat was very real, it didn’t seem like a super realistic plot point to me, and didn’t work as well as I thought or hoped it would.
All in all I did enjoy this book. I’ve been looking forward to finding out more about the secretive Grant, and his history was more than a little heartbreaking. At the same time, I really did love Charli for being able to bring Grant out of his funk, back into the land of the living. Their romance was full of tension, and was rounded out by some seriously smokin hot sexy scenes. Loren continues to write a wonderful smutty series, and I for one can’t wait for more. I give Fall Into You a B
1) Tomboy Charli has an amazing, fresh voice, and wonderful sense of humor. For example, after a day at the spa getting prettified, after she’s been instructed by her dom to wear a pair of high heels for dinner, and is barefoot, instead, “I’ve been waxed and plucked exfoliated and... ironed, I think. Some woman whose name I can’t pronounce has now seen more of me than my gynecologist ever has. And this dress is...drafty. You gotta give me something here.”
Charli manages to get under Grant’s skin, and not just because she’s beautiful, and untamed, but because she pushes back. After XX many years as owner/operator of one of the most ?popular? BDSM clubs ever, Grant has gotten jaded by the sight of gorgeous women lining up for a round of “Can you Bottom this?”
Charli knows she needs to come across as more feminine and graceful, for the sake of her career. Plus, she likes sex with Grant. She really, really likes sex with Grant. But she is very dubious about the whole BDSM game, which makes her somebody I can relate to.
2) Humorous touches throughout. Tom Brady, Charli’s cat, is also not at all interested in obeying Grant, and Grant doesn’t know whether to shit or wind his watch.
3) HAWT sex scenes. Whether you’re “into” BDSM or not, the sex scenes are true “clit lit,” as my friend Kim refers to it. Text your boyfriend, or turbo-charge your vibrator, you’re going to be needin’ him/it (or perhaps both!).
I enjoyed seeing Jace again, as well as Andre and Evan (okay, I seriously want to throw Evan under a bus and take her place).
Hard to swallow:
1) Grant is a former CIA operative and husband/expectant father who lost his wife and unborn child through being too dominant and unwilling to ask for help. He is dealing with his losses by a) not letting anyone get close to him (okay, I can buy that one), and b) becoming super-dominant. That’s the one I have trouble with. I get it, there’s no way The Ranch and all the previous stories “work” without Grant being an alpha male and a dominant. But, seems to me, they’d work better if his past included a traumatic incident (or more) where he hadn’t taken the lead, and things turned out badly.
2) Little details that don’t quite match up. For example, Charli sees her boss Trey (who is also a former lover) a day or two after she’s been knocked out with a concussion and a huge goose egg on her forehead, but they meet and he doesn’t even see/remark on some bruising or continued swelling? Grant takes Charli from behind in his kitchen with its cold granite countertops, on which she is sliding and moving. No mention of what is going on with her breasts - are they stimulated and pointy from the action? Schmushed flat and perhaps hurting? Loren describes so many details so well, I feel bad nitpicking, but these are things that took me out of the story.
3) The suspense plot doesn’t carry the same level of intensity throughout the novel. It starts high, and ends high, but in the middle, kind of sags.
All in all, I recommend this book as smart, sexy erotic romance, and still count myself as a big Roni Loren fan.
Fall into You was yet another book written by Roni Loren that had me forgo sleep and had me reading well into the early morning hours. I read this book in one sitting and words just can't express how much I enjoyed this book. It's hot, sexy and at times tender. The relationship between Grant and Charli is way hot and I just couldn't get enough.
The chemistry between both Grant and Charli is pretty damn explosive and I kept turning the page to see more of them together. I love that push and pull between them and I just couldn't get enough of the two.
Grant Waters owns and runs an exclusive BDSM resort in Texas and has been looking for a new sub to train for months. No one has caught his eye, that is until he comes across Charli Beaumonde. Late one night he comes upon her after she was in a car crash on the edge of his property. As soon as he gets a look at her he knows he wants her. When he finds out that she's the sister of his old Army buddy and the man responsible for saving his life he knows that she is completely off limits. When it looks like Charli's accident was more than accidental and possibly an attempt on her life, Grant promises Charli's brother that he will keep an eye on her and protect her from harm.
Charli isn't exactly happy about the idea of staying in one of Grant's cabins at the ranch. She is working on a potential big story and doesn't need the complication of Grant standing in her way. He's a big distraction for her and she finds herself deeply attracted to him. Charli has no idea that Grants runs an exclusive BDSM resort, and once she finds out she deeply intrigued and once to know more. Maybe Grant can help help gain more confidence and poise so that she can get the anchor position she so desperately wants.
What starts out as a two week training session soon turns into so much more. The more time Charli spends with Grant the more harder she is falling. Charli never thought anything would come from her "training" but she can't deny she loves it and everything Grant is doing to her. She dreads the end of their two weeks together, she wants more but knows that the demons Grant is battling are holding them both back from being together. The more time Grant spends with Charli the more he's realizing that she may just be perfect for him. Too bad he made a promise to someone in his past that he has no intention of breaking. It doesn't matter how attractive Charli is or how much he wants her, he can't have her.
The inner demons Grant deals with are so gut wrenching and your heart just breaks for him and the pain that he has bottled up inside. I love that Charli was able to break down his walls and help him fight the demons in his past.
Fall Into You is another great addition to the Loving on the Edge series and is definitely my favorite.
Roni Loren has done it again! Perfectly balanced suspense and some HOT BDSM-play in a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish while keeping your eyes on the verge of tears from the emotional baggage these characters carry.
In the previous books in this series Grant was that suave yet mysterious owner of The Ranch where the elite come to explore BDSM in secret. He was tantalizingly sexy and charming and I couldn't wait to read his story. Now that it's here, I can honestly say it was so worth the wait. Grant, along with running The Ranch, is also the owner of a prosperous winery and a former military man and CIA agent. He's seen a lot of bad things throughout those years, but nothing hurt him more than the death of his wife and child for which he's still torturing himself over. He feels guilty and doesn't think he deserves happiness so he's cut himself off from forming any meaningful connections. He also doesn't want to put his heart on the line again and thus has kept the few relationships he's had very business-like. Meeting Charli awakens his heart and mind and even though he tries to fight it he soon finds himself caught up in her web.
Charli's always been one of the boys, much to the chagrin of her mother who left her at an early age. She's tough and can take care of herself and she's an incredibly likable heroine. She's always felt like she didn't measure up though, and after losing out on a promotion, she's told she's not girly enough either. Being around Grant definitely brings out her girly side though, along with her newfound submissive side. This leads to some incredibly steamy scenes, and for a reader who doesn't read a lot of BDSM, I found them written in a way that will appeal to the naughty side of us all.
There's a nice bit of suspense surrounding Charli that's nicely intertwined with their steamy relationship that kept me guessing until the end. Not only is the suspense entertaining but seeing characters from past stories was equally satisfying. It was nice knowing that a couple's HEA extended beyond the final page and being given another tantalizing glimpse of Colby and Kade set my heart racing even faster as I count down the days until their stories are told.
Fall Into You has me falling further in love with this series and Roni Loren's writing style! These characters are emotionally hurting and seeing them heal brought tears to my eyes. This story was immensely satisfying on every level and I look forward to the next installment in Ms. Loren's sexy and suspenseful series.
Sensual, broken, relentlessly intense, raw sexiness, heart-wrenching and DOMINANT..... these are a few words that describe Grant Waters. SWOON
A blisteringly HAWTT love story between two people. Charli "Charlotte" is hilarious! She's a feisty tomboy with a distorted self image, she can't even fathom the idea that a man could find her sexy, let alone the dominant cowboy.
Grant Waters, owner of The Ranch, tragically loved and lost his first wife. He is incapable of loving again, emotionally detached from his sexual relationships. NO KISSING! Grant is determined to show Charli that she is beautiful, sexy, everything that she believes she is not... He is determined to keep their relationship "strictly business". He slowly discoveres he may not be able to give her up after their month together, teaching Charlotte how to be the sexy vixen he knows deep down that she is.
"You may be a little overconfident in your abilities there, cowboy. I'm a quick learner, tbut there's a lifetime of tomboy in here. Don't think two weeks is going to cure me of it." "I don't want to cure you of it, freckles. But I also know that if you give me a little time, I'll show you how much woman is in there, too."
Grant never read Charli as a submissive, Charli never thought she would love submitting. The journey discovering their love and the depth of that love was so sweet. Grant missed his chance to save his first love. Grant gets two second chances, at saving the woman he loves and finding the second love of his life.
"You're the only woman I want in my life. Past, prresent, and future."
His eyes seemed to turn black in the soft light of the bedroom. He leaned over slowly, his mouth brushing the shell of my ear. Then one whispered word filled her mind. "Run"
OH MY FUCKIN’ GOD! Excuse my language, but that was H.O.T! Not to mention the whole chase/capture scene that followed. It must me my lucky week….that’s two books I’ve read with a ‘hide and seek’ theme. Love it! Yep, I was really looking forward to this book. You get snippets of Grant in the first two books of this series, which only makes you want more. And boy to you get it in this instalment. You also get the heart-melting, tragic background story of Grant that explains why he is a recluse (well outside of his private members club resort). Charlotte/Charli is an awesome heroine, funny, sarcastic, feisty but lacking confidence all at the same time (and in a believable way too). I love how Grant literally knocks it out of her (well whips it out might be a better description). After reading Cherise Sinclair’s and Kalypso Master’s BDSM books I did look for similar stories. How this one slipped through the net I don’t know, but it is definitely up there with the big names in this genre. Thank you Roni!
One of the things I really love about Roni Loren's books is the depth and complexity of the characters. "Fall Into You" takes that to new heights and makes for an even richer and more compelling story, complete with an Oh-No-He-Didn't! moment that left me cheering. Like all of Roni's books, "Fall Into You" has plenty of deliciously smexy moments, but the in-depth look she gives us into both Charli's and Grant's lives makes it even more stirring. Five stars!
Really enjoyed this one. Emotional depth, hot sex and a great connection. Full review on Fiction Vixen Book Reviews
Fall Into You is the third full length novel in Ms. Loren’s Loving On the Edge series. The book features the long-awaited, at least by me, story of Grant Waters. Grant owns “The Ranch” a BDSM resort/vineyard. He is also an ex CIA agent. Color me interested about this yummy, aloof man we had been introduced to in previous books. There was always something about him that made me want his story and in Fall Into You I found out what that was.
Grant hasn’t taken a trainee in many months. Things had become old and stale. He has stopped even doing scenes at his own club. One night he hears a car accident outside his ranch and runs to help the victim. He comes upon Charli Beaumonde hurt and dazed. After an introduction he realizes that Charli is the sister of a close military buddy, one who took a bullet for him. He is greatly attracted to her but gets no submissive vibes and she is his friend’s sister. He might have been able to get past his friend but he knows his own desires and he cannot have a vanilla relationship. He has specific, hardcore tastes that would not match very well with Charli and her stubbornness.
Charli-freaking-Beaumode. He’d been on the verge of asking her out–a stupid move in the first place because he didn’t mess with women who weren’t part of the scene. That was setting up disaster from step one. Nothing like springing on a vanilla person– Hey, I’m a dominant and a sexual sadist. Oh, and I run a BDSM resort where I have submissives offering themselves to me daily. Yeah, fun conversation.
Charli is tired of not being what everyone wants from her. She was never good enough for her mom, her family was too overprotective and now her boss has told her she didn’t get the job she has long coveted. They gave it to a bimbo who might not know anything but she looked good in a tight shirt. After a bit of trouble on her latest story she has agreed to stay at Grant’s ranch under his watch. Grant warns her to stay on her side of the fence but late one night she cannot resist following him. What she finds is way beyond her wildest imaginations but she comes up with the idea that maybe Grant can teach her how to be feminine, how to be that woman who all men want.
“Damn, you’re bullheaded. Didn’t you hear anything I said last night? I can be tough and mean, freckles. I don’t just like to dominate a submissive; I like to
Grant thinks it is a terrible idea but cannot resist her. He agrees to take her on for two weeks instead of the normal month he trains submissives. She can work during the day but then she will be all his.
Fall Into You is part club book and part other. Club books can get old sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good club book for what it is. Most of them are pure sex. But when I have full length novel like this and it has club scenes I want to read more than just the sexual connection. Ms. Loren has provided the sexual connection and so much more with Fall Into You.
Grant has a difficult past that has caused him to refrain from kissing a woman for over ten years. The last person he kissed was his wife and she died in his arms because of a mistake he believes he made. He is emotionally disconnected from all relationships in his life. Watching Grant struggle with his desire to kiss or not kiss Charli was like sitting on the edge of my seat. I knew that kissing would signal so much more for them but it would also take an emotional openness that Grant might not be able to do. I adored Grant for most of this book. His struggle with falling for Charli while still holding on to his wife was a painful thing to read.
Charli was not as adored as Grant but she wasn’t terrible. I have a thing about not liking reporters. Most reporters are portrayed as too stupid for their own good and everything is about the story. Charli has moments of that in the book but they are not overwhelming so I wasn’t turned off by her. I greatly enjoyed her emotional journey also. Charli has always been a tomboy and tough girl but here Grant is the tough one. Here we are shown that Charli can be soft if given the right relationship. Towards the end of the book Charli also showed an emotional intelligence that I think she lacked in the beginning. She knew she was falling for Grant and that he couldn’t give her what she needed. The scene between them when this issue is confronted is heartbreaking and poignant.
I also like how Charli didn’t fall into submission. In some BDSM books the man recognizes the submissive and just needs a scene to bring out her true form. Grant never recognized Charli as a submissive even admitting far into the book how wrong he was about her. We were able to watch the two of them grow into the relationship instead of just being handed that part at the beginning.
Overall, this was a very good book and the best of the series. I was really impressed with the combination of emotional growth and sexual heat that we were given. Everything flowed together so well and was 100% believable. For fans of Cherise Sinclair, I would highly recommend picking up this book. Final grade- A-
Favorite Quote:
This all had to be some bizarre nightmare, right? Dancing orangutans would twirl thought the room anytime now. But of course when she opened her eyes again, Grant’s hand was still on her shoulder, And she was still in the middle of some odd How to Be a Sex Slave class.
GAH! I'm so happy that Roni Loren decided to release Grant's book after Jace's. Grant's no-nonsense attitude gives him a sense of aloofness but there is something haunted underneath it all and it takes one strong willed woman who is willing to submit yet challenge him to finally show him that yes, there can be more than one love in a lifetime.
FALL INTO YOU, is the story of Grant Waters, owner of all-exclusive BDSM club, The Ranch, and sports reporter with a dented self esteem, Charli Beaumonde. These two are an explosive combination that will have you torn between laughing at their verbal exchanges and clutching your book during their physical interaction. And I mean physical. Hel-lo.
It goes something like this:
Charli: What the frak are these crazies doing? Effing high beams! Oh crap! Diiiiitch *crash*
Grant: *say it with a twang* What the heck is that? *goes to investigate* Hellooo freckles!
Charli: Holy hotness! I must have hit my head harder than I thought. P.S. Please don't call my brother after you find out that he saved your life in battle. And don't write me off since you know my brother.
Grant: Oh freckles, the things I would do to you, in you, on you...
Charli: I'll stay with you since my place has been compromised and someone had the nerve to steal all my notes on that football scandal. I don't want to stay with my brother.
Grant: No sexual thoughts about your friend's sister, no sexual thoughts about your friend's sister, no sexual thoughts about your friend's...How many ways can I tie her up? What is she like in bed? Out of bed? How would she look with my mark on her? *broods*
Charli: *hormones going crazy while practically eye fucking Grant*
Grant: If you're gonna stay here, there's rules. You're staying on this side of the fence. Other side is for resort members only. *proceeds to touching Charli inappropriately after finding her being all creepy in the bushes trying to find a wi-fi signal*
Charli: *decides to break the rules and fence hop* There are just somethings you can't unsee and two guys doing it against a tree is one of them then gets taken in by a girl clad in leather and proceeds to not draw attention to herself. Oops! *caught by Grant*
Grant: Proceeds to show Charli exactly what happens at The Ranch after Charli asks to get some training from Colby. Wrong question Charli! He decides to take on Charli as his sub but meets quite a bit of resistance along the way.
Charli: Two weeks of training to help me with my confidence issues. I need to show those a*holes at the TSN that I can totally do the job. And while I'm at it, I will still pursue this story that could totally make my career. Seriously.
