Such an inspiring book for me in a previous life. I’ll always love the work of Darius Khondji — just learning more about painting with light, framing, mood. Top book. Top references. Still hits.

Lance Acord good good.
Brilliant lighting information and even though no one seems to shoot on film anymore, the tricks of the trade and the trouble the cinematographer goes to in communication w art dept to get a visual effect/light is amazing.
This book is so helpful to someone like me who is slowly becoming obsessed with light. How they lit film about Francis Bacon was scary in ref to his paintings, using ugly filters. So much attention to detail its nauseating!!!
